Jazz Brunch Webster's Bookstore & Cafe was delightful this past Sunday. There was a nice assortment of brunch foods, the stars for me being the roasted potatoes, probably the best I’ve had while dining out and the fresh fruit. The pancake texture was a little off for me, but Hubby said a little extra syrup did the trick for him. Kudos to Webster’s for serving organic maple syrup, I hate when the only option at a restaurant is “pancake syrup” whatever all that concoction is…. The background live music was lovely and just the right volume so table conversation could still be enjoyed. Cool place to browse, too!

Can I please move in? This place is enchanting! There are books, coffee, food, clothes and some antiques, what else can I ask for? Loved the tables in little nooks where one can study, read or hide from the world:))). We accidentally got here, right after we have already had lunch, so we didn’t get a chance to try the goods, but this is the first place on our list for our next visit to State College

Webster's is my favourite place to visit when I'm in town. The coffee and food are great, service is always fantastic. The people there really make this place shine and we always feel welcome, even when we have a pup tagging along with us. The book selection is huge and I love the addition of the vinyl shop. I still need to try the Sunday vegan breakie! This is a staple of State College.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access is at the side of the building so be aware of that.

Websters was such a lively and eccentric place to get a coffee !! Workers were extremely friendly and the espresso is unparalleled. Also there is a book store and records for sale immersed within the coffee shop. Such a good place to study :)

This is one of the best community-centered coffee shop place in town.Great music, friendly baristas, delicious food and a warm cozy environment. A surely great place to grab a book to read, socialize or even write. The best part is that you are always welcomed by Elaine, the owner, who makes sure Webster's continues to be a close-knit supportive community.

Love it! It's a cool funky place with plenty of room to hang while having coffee or food. I had phenomenal vegan chili for lunch. Great vibe for vinyl and book collectors. It's easy to pass by without noticing it, especially with the main entrance being in the alley. The service was friendly and the wifi was saucy.

WOW - just WOW ! I was just treated extremely rude by the individual who ‘only’ works at the cafe and could not help me when I inquired about a vintage book title I am looking for - in fact his words “ I have no idea what you’re talking about . I just work in the cafe. We do have books but I don’t know what we have. We do have an online book search engine why don’t you try that”When I asked if someone was available to speak with that did know what books they had available. He repeated “ no I just work in the cafe, and there is nobody here that can help you with that - we have a book search engine you can try”. I told him I was “sorry to bother him and take up his time” and he just said “ no worries” and hung up. This I might add was after I called 4 times to which nobody answered the phone. The fourth time someone finally answered with just “hello” - I had to ask if I was speaking to a book shop? He clearly was bothered that I was taking up his time, the dismissive annoyance in his voice was clear.I typically prefer to support and purchase locally when possible - but in the case I will just order the vintage book online.

Note that this business is located in a basement. You CANT distinguish that there is a library/cafe unless you walk down the staircase. There is a weird odor; it may be that it is a basement but they need a humidifier asap. I approached the cashier and said “hi” and she said “give me a moment.” I always wonder why it is first the wait a moment rather than a hi, and give me a moment.I ordered a Turkey peppercorn sandwich. It was 11 dols with tip included. The sandwich is served in this thick bread that does not fit your mouth. However, it has very good flavor. A bit spicy but not overwhelming. The sandwich is accompanied with a salad. Good choice. There is a good collection of books and magazines and a lot on discount too. There is rock and roll music in the background but not so loud. The ambiance is pleasant. I hope they fix the odor issue.

The food itself was an absolute highlight. Not only was it delicious and beautifully presented, but it also catered perfectly to a diverse range of tastes and dietary preferences among our attendees. If you're in search of a catering service that delivers both exceptional cuisine and impeccable service, please choose Webster's Cafe. Highly recommend!

The picture doesn't do it justice. So many books to browse and a cute cafe to order at. The people are very nice and it's a very chill place to get work done. Cheap books for the win!

This is a nice place to have coffee and chat. The books are cheap and they have a nice collection of old and new books. There is a section for vantage items also.

Webster's Bookstore and Café is a great place to spend a couple hours, grab lunch, and enjoy reading in a quiet atmosphere. I had the five bean chili, which is both vegan and delicious! Great job! The selection of bools ranges from freshly printed to freshly antiquated. I found exactly what I was looking for. They also have a decent selection of teas, including yerba mate!

Webster's Bookstore is a brilliant combination of local bookstore and coffeeshop. Their food selection is all vegetarian/vegan, and impressively tasty. They host a lot of fun activities and community events, and are a real blessing to State College. I'm glad they are here!Vegetarian options: Exclusively.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp in the rear entrance.

Not the usual establishment I would normally find myself in, with Depeche Mode on and chai lattes served at the cafe counter, but I loved Webster’s. I spent way more time browsing all the shelves than I was anticipating, coming away with four books that I did not originally set out to find. You can find some good ones at very reasonable price and shape, so I’d recommend this place for the types that would find themselves here and not alike. Cheers.

The last and best of it's kind: delicious cafe food, great teas, books on books galore and vinyl to feed your music hole. I've been going here for years and couldn't imagine this town without Webster's.

My only complaint is that they have more affordable books than I'll be able to read in ten lifetimes. Also they don't serve meat. But you waifish nerds are gonna love them that much more for it, as you should. Much love

From out of town. Bookstores are in general so hard to find anymore and I miss them. This is a gem. I found two new John Grisham hard covers for $6/each. Lots of vinyls. If in state college should stop in

The Secret Garden, Bridge to Terabithia, Neverland (Peter Pan) - much like the settings of these books, entering Webster's Bookstore Cafe is like entering a magical, no frills, sanctuary for a good cup of coffee and a good book. It is a breath of fresh air from State College and the surrounding counties and my wife and our doggo love it here. We've been coming here off and on for the past couple years since moving to the area and it's always a relaxing visit. Another plus are the vegan options (especially the chili).Big shout out to the wonderful Manager/Owner who, during a very busy hour, kindly transformed a display area into a table for us - almost out of thin air.We look forward to our next visit from Altoona!

I really had my hopes up for this place and I’ve given them so many tries but I just don’t care for it.The atmosphere is very chaotic and very few of the staff listen thoroughly when I’m ordering. They’ve often got conversations going with other staff and will continue them while I’m ordering. I’ve also stood at the register for a solid minute staring at them while they continue to not notice me ready to order, standing in front of them.I always order the same thing and I can tell when the two staff, who really care about food quality and presentation, are in the kitchen because when they’re not I just get food tossed in a bowl with sub-par ingredients rather than good quality ingredients plated nicely. And I just can’t get myself to enjoy the coffee. The tea is nice but every latte I order isn’t mixed (all the syrup is sitting at the bottom) and just tastes watered down.I had high hopes and I really hope that improvements can be made.

Coffee is nice, ambiance is nice, it's just really warm in there and oftentimes smells too much of food/onions. I get claustrophobic in there but if you want that closed off, cramped feeling then it might be your happy place in happy valley :)
