I was just admiring the print I purchased and had framed at Uncle Eli's in 1978...it's an Asian print of partridges. I used to pass by the store on my way to class and it for weeks it was there in the window display. It was 40.00! I couldn't really afford it but bought it anyways. It's still one of my favorite things.I still have all the colored pencils I bought there too.

Honestly this place is my favorite little shop in State College. It is a quirky little art store with supplies, greeting cards, clothing, posters, candles, mugs, frames, etc. I could explore this place for hours!! It’s kind of like a museum! You can find all of your artsy odds and ends here and the employees are so nice and accommodating as well. I definitely would recommend coming here! You will not be disappointed. 😃

Just a quick word of appreciation for Isabella. She is warm and attentive, and helped me find the right kind of notebooks for paint markers (for a fraction of the price of moleskines). She has several creative interests and knows about many different materials! I look forward to my next visit :)

My first visit was meh... the others have been fantastic. Staff has been friendly and knowledgeable. The artist supply side is a little slim in some areas, but what I call the trinket side is well stocked.

Amazing selection of art supplies and gifts. Staff is always helpful and even suggests less expensive products for students on a budget.I could spend goes exploring the art supplies, the gifts, the cards and the posters.The frame shop always does excellent work. I've gone here a few times to get some work framed and it's always high quality work.

Used to be one of my favorite places to shop. Never know what you're going to find. Way more than just art supplies. One of my favorite playgrounds. Unfortunately the last time, and i mean the last time, i was in I got ignored by all the staff while they helped new students collect everything needed for classes. One staff started to help me but then went of with a student. Never again.

Came in today to get advisement on how to frame a print and the two college aged employees were laughing uncontrollably before I walked in and couldn’t contain themselves once I was inside the store. They apologized for laughing so hard (no big deal obviously) but then were absolutely terrible at helping me find a good print size. They told me to go to Ollie’s or Goodwill if I wanted a great frame.In hindsight, maybe it was my mistake to go to a framing store downtown. But if you are looking for the slightest bit of professionalism don’t go here.

Nice shop, great place to get art supplies. Lots of things to see.They should bring in more alcohol based pen sets. Possibly a locked glass case to keep them safe since they are pretty costly.It would be nice to get copic markers and refills from a known safe supplier.

This is beyond a doubt the *must visit* destination every time I'm in State College. Their eclectic and bizarre selection of art, novelties, cards, jewelry, and art-creating-supplies is outstanding. It's the kind of shop I can browse in all day long. Absolutely love it!

Great selection of supplies and gifts. However I had a very bad experience on 7/31 with one of the employees. I was speaking to a friend on my experience with different types of paints and she constantly interjected into my conversation telling me that I didn’t know what I was talking about. I personally do not believe that I will be returning if I do not feel welcome to speak to my own friends regarding MY experiences with anything. While yes, she works there, I do not feel it was appropriate to talk down to me and my friend how she did. I believe she could have nicely talked to me about her experiences if I would have asked, but I did not and she interrupted me multiple times in a conversation she was not part of.

Good variety of supplies, lovely staff. Also a good place to look for gifts if your first thought is Urban Outfitters. Similar selection, but more unique and ya know, shop small!

Employees are very pleasant I don't know her name but the young lady with dark hair and glasses was very helpful in finding my charcoal pencils. Oh and the prices were really good too. I will be buying my art materials from there from now on

Awesome place! Just the kind of novelty, art, and everything store you always look for. AMAZING STAFF and dog-friendly. Fun to even just look around! Definitely reccomend. There's literally something for everyone.

Uncle Eli's leaves me Elated! I was shopping for some odds and ends to prepare a gift for my dearest Mummy. And they were able to provide just the materials needed, including a unique tiger greeting card, as well as a meowing cat pen! Also, when inquiring about a marker I had newly discovered, I was promptly taken to the section where this marker could be found. Expertise and friendliness abound here, as well as MONSTROUS art supplies! Make your art with Uncle Eli's!

Not a review of the store itself, just that Google has their hours wrong, they close at 6 weekdays, not 8. Was in town on business and needed some drafting supplies. Oh well. The 1 star is merely for attention and I will update when replied to, thanks!Edit: spring break hours! I should've thought of that, town did seem rather quiet that evening. Thanks for the response and hope you guys all the best during these strange times.
