Ben was good enough to take my request to er the phone and ship it to me. I’m always looking for good shops for fly fishing supplies and it appears this is a great one. Thanks for all you do !

No thanks. Between this shop and the Reading one - I've had a handful of negative experiences and know people who have gotten into shouting matches with staff. Nothing more than a convenient inconvenience in a pinch.

On Saturday we did a full day guided fly fishing trip at Spruce Creek with Gavin Robinson. I was brand new to fly fishing and I learned so much from him in just 8 hours. He taught us so much between flies, knots and techniques. We had an absolutely fantastic day with perfect conditions and were very successful. I highly recommend booking your guided trip with Gavin!

Staff is really helpful and friendly. George is awesome! Definitely knows his stuff! (spooled some reels for me and recommended some fantastic lines and some indicators he likes). I would definitely recommend them!

Received their catalog for years from across the country. We recently relocated to Pennsylvania and finally had a chance to stop in the shop. Was very excited, until I stopped in.Two arrogant guys with lockjaw! No personalities at all. No smiles, nothing. I wasn’t looking for their honey hole, I have always done my own homework, just very basic info on local streams.Had the audacity to ask me if I knew how to fish! After 40 plus years of fly fishing across the country, from New York, to the Carolinas, Montana, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and now Pennsylvania, yes I can fish.Just because some manufacturers rep sends you to the Bahamas to fish for bonefish or Alaska for rainbows doesn’t mean you are better than anyone else. Put the arrogance aside.No, I will not be back.

Ben at TCO put me on fish 12-26-2022. He told me my plan for the day was good... Just wrong time of the year. He told me where he would be if he wasn't working that day. I caught a lot of wild browns that afternoon. I will be back in the future. The store looked to be fully stocked up on flies, tying materials, Simms waders, Sage, Orvis, G. Loomis, and a lot more.

The shop is overpriced, even for a fly shop, which is bearable. I will spend more to see and hold equipment before I purchase it, and to talk to the local people to hear their stories and get dialed in to the local spots. However, this guy who was there both times I've stopped by clearly hates what he is doing.Take 30 minutes out of your time and go to Coburn, those guys love fly fishing.

On a fishing trip to Penn's Creek after about a 10 year hiatus in flyfishing, my wading boots disintegrated. The staff at TCO were great and got me back to wading in Penn's Creek. Thanks guys.

Great experience at TCO. Came prepared to fish Penns but water was blown out. Steven gave me and my friend a great alternative that really panned out. Also was dead on about what flies we needed. Great addition to the staff. .

Dave Bower, at State College TCO, has been a great help improving my nymphing success on Spring Creek. Initially I met him on the stream walking his dog before heading to the shop and he shared some weighted nymphs which turned my day into a successful outing. Yesterday he helped me select a new nymphing rod and this morning I had the best day catching fish in my life including a double take on my first cast. Love the rod and appreciate Dave’s advice on how to properly set my leaders. The right equipment and right technique make all the difference and TCO made the learning curve a lot quicker! Thanks!!!

Small shop but has everything you need. Staff is extremely friendly and willing to help out with any information you need to fish the fantastic streams around state college. Nice assortment of reasonably priced flies too.
