This store is the only Rite Aid still open in our county. Three other Centre County Rite Aid locations have permanently closed.I happen to like this Rite Aid because they generally always have what I might be looking for. The employees greet me as I enter the store, and most of the people working in the pharmacy know me by name. The head pharmacist will nearly always engage in conversation with me, and he will talk to me about any new doctor prescribed medications and whether or not they will "collide" with present meds I am taking.This Rite Aid provides me a favorful shopping experience, and I highly recommend it.

I tried to fill a prescription for a gentleman with significant mental health concerns. I was told that the medication would be ready the next day (Friday). When I went to pick up the medication on Saturday, I was told that they were out of stock and it wouldn't be available until Monday. I never even received a phone call saying that the medication couldn't be filled. I explained that this gentleman was completely out and needed the medication the next morning."It's not our fault!" Yeah, the pharmacist aggressively told me, "It's not our fault!" Are you kidding me? Whose fault is it?Unfortunately, this gentleman had to go two days without his proper medication. When someone with significant mental health issues goes without medications, a normally peaceful person could become violent and suicidal. It endangers that person and those around him. Rite Aid is a pharmacy- they know this.If it is important to you that you get your medication on time, I recommend going somewhere else. If it is a medication that doesn't really matter if you take it or not, you should be fine coming here. Just remember, if there is a mistake - It's not their fault!Also, employees, including the supervisor, were taking masks off and wearing them below their noses while waiting on customers. This is odd for a healthcare related store during a pandemic. If they neglect this simple safety precaution, I wonder what else they are neglecting with their medications.Edit 7/14/2022I should have updated this sooner. I called the number several times and I was told someone from corporate would call me back. Nobody ever did. I tried emailing, but never got a response.They don't care about customer support,.They only care about making people reading these reviews think they are trying to help.

The last few times that I’ve stopped to pick up a prescription I didn’t even give my name the observant pharmacy tech said he would be with me right away. To me that was pretty impressive that they remembered me. (Hopefully it’s not because I’m a difficult customer,lol)I also have to hand it to the staff for always staying cool when angry customers scream at them. I’ve stood by and seen the pharmacist on duty, politely calm irrational customers while still concentrating on their task at hand. My last thank you goes to the pharmacist who administered my flu shot last year. I have never had someone give me a shot as painless…my arm wasn’t sore during or afterwards.For the amount of patients that flow through, these fine people do a great job at getting the job done in a friendly, efficient manor!

The staff is amazing! I always go through drive thru and they know me as soon as I come to window. Always great service and even the pharmacist will remind me of any shots that are due. I live closer to the Rite Aid in Bellefonte but travel to North Atherton because of their service. I would never go anywhere else.

My mother and I locked ourselves out of our car at Plato’s closet in the blistering cold, we called many locksmiths for two hours and had very little hope of going back home (considering we live in Altoona), but Christina and Maria were such amazing people to both, my mother and myself. Christina let us use the phone and Maria helped us get our car keys back. These two went out of their way to help us in every way, including two chargers because our phones were dead as well so we couldn’t get in touch with any family, friends or loved ones. If I could rate our visit with this rite aid and their staff I would rate it a million stars if I could. Again, a giant thank you to these two ladies❤️ -Melissa and Peyton

Always have gone out of my way to come to this store. I love chatting with the store associates, and they are always willing and happy to help me with whatever I need, going above and beyond. The pharmacy has also helped me figure out medication and insurance when I was at a loss for what to do. The store looks great after their remodel too!

Seriously understaffed and slow service. Old pharmacies would take me 5-10 minutes to have a prescription refilled. This place takes 30 minutes or more sometimes and is incredibly rude and snarky to customers. Breaking point came when they messed up my prescription and didn't pay much attention to my insurance change, charging me 10x my usual rate alongside the aforementioned rudeness and snark. Alongside this they are always at risk of being out of certain medications which can be extremely inconvenient.

Pharmacy had terrible customer service - they told me they had to order a prescription and it would be ready in 3 days - no one called me to let me know the pills were back ordered or that I needed to fill it somewhere else until I went to pick it up - this left me in withdrawal from the medication - they should call if things are back ordered

I often use Rite Aid & recently had an insurance issue as I was being discharged from UPMC Presbyterian. Sandra, at the Hills Plaza Rite Aid was able to help me with reimbursment. This is only a fraction of the help provided me by both the pharmacy & store. I feel that they know me & care about me personally.

Riteaid is primarily a Drug Store (Pharmacy), with a large selection of consumer products that you might think of as also available in a Drug store.Examples: baby products (diapers, wipes, thermometers, anti-histomines, baby aspirin, acetaminophen, cotton swabs (Q-Tips@), etc.Similarly, OTC items for adults. 🙂

The employees at the north atherton street rite are absolutely great people friendly employees that are there to help with anything that any customer may need or need help finding and if they don’t have it they will best direct you to where you need to go to get what you are looking for
