My wife and I went to the State College store to purchase dog food and treats for our shih tzu that spent a few days at the hospital. Sarah was an Amazing help to us. We really appreciated her help and kindness! She is definitely an asset to your store!! We will seek her out in the future.

Nice and friendly. Quite fun to look around animals, too.It is also good that they discount for the products that have some damage not enough to compromise the quality rather than dump them.There is also dog hair salon. :) might be good idea to let your pet get hair done and you look around Michaels right next to Petco.

Petco is a great place to get pet food and moth pet related items...they also have grooming on site. The dog food we purchase (Taste of the Wild brand for small breads) used to be available in most pet stores. However, now only Petco stocks it. TY The store is always clean and the staff are always helpful.

I was there looking for a harness for my brother’s dog which was with me. I was having a hard time and finally was able to ask a girl for help. All she said was “you need an XL to an XXL.” Talk about frustration!!! I struggled and struggled and do you think she helped me??? No! Poor customer service. I ended up buying 2 but may return one or both.

Update, review downgraded to 2 stars: I purchased all my fish in my new tank at petco, from what I could tell, all looked healthy...week later, I have ich in the brand new tank...lost 6 fish so far, starting treatment today....DO NOT BUY ANY TANK FISH AT PETCO!Original review: Very helpful employees, great variety of pet supplies, aquarium fish, pet food, and very competitive prices. Love the ability to order online and pick up in store. Will be a regular customer.

This is a very nice and well kept place with no obvious animal smell like other stores! They also have a large selection of pets as well as fish! I could look at all of the birds, rats, hamsters, chameleons, and fish for hours. Very nice place to just check out.

My cat Simba was having drooling issues due to teeth problems. Dr. McFeely (yes her real name) and the vet tech (I missed the name. Short, dark hair,very sweet) were AMAZING with Simba. He is now home and happy. Quick trip, didn't break the bank, were wonderful with Simba. Will Definitely be bringing my animals back to them again. Thanks to the staff we dealt with. You guys did awesome with Simba.

Whatever you do, do not rely on their repeat delivery. I was charged for a bag of dog food that said it was going to be delivered same day. It was not sent. The next day, when I was low on dog food, I called to ask why I was charged and my food not delivered. They said it was their mistake and the food would be delivered and that they would send me a bag that day of less food to make up for it (because I stated I would run out of dog food rendering their service pointless). Guess what? Their 5lb dog food did the exact same thing. Order was placed, but never processed or delivered. I've been doing repeat deliveries through Petco for quite some time but will switch to a more reliable service.

My son wants to have a couple of rats and we were looking in the tank and both tanks were not properly cleaned and the poor creatures were covered in their own feces! I'll take my son somewhere else to get his future pets... PetCo obviously doesn't care enough about their animals

This was a unique visit. We needed a specific Purina product no one else carries. When checking on line it showed in stock. I drove 45 minutes to make the purchase. When I arrived I noticed pallet after pallet of of unworked freight and empty home locations. I walked around the pallets and spotted what I needed. I asked the young man if I was allowed to pull from the pallet and quickly said no. As a district manager for a small box retailer I 100% understood his reasons and I also know you gotta make your customer happy, afterall I drove 45 minutes to make this purchase. He and I worked together and we got the specific bag I needed. Your associate was not only helping me but many others. Any other time I would have made an associate like this an offer they couldn't refuse. I also understand how hard it is to hire right now and I don't like seeing fellow retailers struggling. Thank you and know our pup thanks you to.

I always receive my dogs food by subscription from Petco. I received a coupon from Purina so I had to go into the store to purchase my dogs food. I could not locate it so I asked the help from an associate. He could not find it even with the photo and information directly from my Petco account. He agured with me even though I CLEARLY receive the same Purina Pro Plan FROM PETCO! I assume that not every store might not carry every different type of Purina Pro Plan but he didn’t want to ask for someone’s else’s help or possibly look it up to see if it could even be ordered. I was so nervous to purchase anything even a little different in fear that any different ingredients might upset her belly.

Your selection of cat nutritional supplements is really poor and there are always boxes in the aisles that make it hard to move around. I’m going to try Wiscoy and Pet Supplies Plus before coming back

Will not shop here ever again . I've made the drive 3 times now for grooming for my dog. They don't allow appointments for nail trims but yet they are always too busy for walk ins. I've wasted a lot of gasoline and do not recommend this store to anyone.

Our dog LOVES Petco's new trainer, Kaleb! Obedience training has been great. Kaleb has a great, positive mindset and offered lots of useful suggestions on how to work with our pup on stuff like pulling on the leash and jumping up, basically her two major areas that needed addressed. It's a friendly, relaxed, low-stress environment and I totally recommend it.

This Petco used to be much nicer, but today I went in and was horrified by what I saw. They are keeping animals in filthy conditions. The rat enclosures are completely dirty and the rats themselves are unable to fully clean the grime off of their bodies due to the unsanitary, crowded environment. As a result, they're covered in waste, as is every inch of their bedding and the walls. Many of the birds (that they're selling for around $800, I might add) were plucking all their feathers off in stress at their dirty enclosures which had no enrichment beyond a single toy hanging from the ceiling of their cage. Additionally, the display of Betta fish had tons of fish stacked on top of each other in disgusting water. Many of these fish were dead and floating, while all the others were either very ill or very stressed and aggressive due to their close proximity to the other fish. Only the most expensive Bettas seemed to get any care, leaving all of the others stacked in dead piles on the display. It was a horrific experience. I've never seen a pet store provide its animals with such horrific conditions in my life. Please, if you care about animals at all, don't shop at this location until they improve the conditions in which their supposedly beloved animals (AKA their profit margins) are kept. Completely abhorrent.
