My Bernedoodle (Benji) was cared for with the utmost compassion. Staff was overly kind & gave constant updates. I felt that I could entrust this staff with any of my pets in an emergency situation. They gave me detailed information concerning the procedure so that I fully understood. Thank you for a pleasant experience in a stressful time.

I had a horrible experience with them Many years ago, my 3 year old rottie was sick in the morning, was Mothers Day, my ex took her to CPVets where they said she just had a stomach bug, sent her home and she died that night of pancreatitis!! Had blood work been done when first brought in I will always wonder if she could have lived? Decided to give them another chance, my dog got sick at 4am Sunday morning, April 28, blood in large amounts of loose stool with blood. I called them and the girl was horrible that answered the phone. No compassion or empathy, immediately brought up the price and that it had to be paid for then, then said we had to wait in the car while they examined her. Said if I choose to bring her there I had to call back and let them know. With her attitude, no way, took her to Metzgers. She sounded like a robot! Never again will I call there.

I had a very good experience with CPVets. My 6 month old golden doodle started throwing up, dry heaving, and suffering from severe acid reflux. I took him to CPVets at the recommendation of my vet office (the vet had left for the day) and I waited in the car while they did some x-rays. They told me that his intestines were very dilated and that they saw something (maybe a foreign body) in his small intestine. They suggested either hospitalization overnight with IV fluids to see if he passed it, or he could go home on strong anti-nausea medication and be observed. We took him home (2 hours from when I brought him in, only thing is I had to wait in the car) and after a couple of hours gave him a teaspoon of white rice. He threw that up so we took him back (the vet had said if he throws up with the strong anti-nausea medication on board, we should bring him back). They hospitalized him, giving him IV fluids and re-taking x-rays a few hours later. They had told me that they would call me if he wasn't doing well. When I called to check up on him around 5 am, they said his intestines looked much better (less dilated), and that he had had a small snack without throwing up. They called me around 8 am and said he was doing well and I could take him home. The foreign body in his small intestine (looked more like a small rock, which he had swallowed and had caused inflammation of his GI tract) was now in his colon, and they said he would be able to pass it on his own. He was so much better when I picked him up. They gave me some canned easily digestible food to take home with me.All of the individuals with whom I interacted (vets, technicians) were very friendly and courteous, and readily gave me information on my dog whenever I called. I would take him back here if he should need emergency care again.

This time last year this place killed my puppy, I think they love to make money off euthanasia instead of actually offering pet parents options for care. We weren’t the only ones there that night dealing with euthanasia either. There were other people leaving balling their eyes out. After getting a new pup this year, he recently got sick with parvo and I traveled to cheat lake animal hospital WV for care. They were the BEST hands down with care and level of customer experience, they actually cared about our pup and family as a whole and went over all of our options and made it affordable so we weren’t left feeling like we had no way out! I’d personally never recommend another animal hospital here in PA, if you have the means to go somewhere else, go somewhere else!!! The only thing I’d say this place did do, was make a nice urn and paw of my baby. They should call themselves central pet cremation services.

I brought my 13 week old puppy here who hasn’t been eating, pooping, and crying like he is in immense pain at night (when normally he sleeps peacefully in his crate, loves to eat, and poops all the time). He stopped going up and down the stairs and is lethargic. After having to call them multiple times for updates on my puppy and waiting THREE AND A HALF hours to hear the vet say “I have a cat sedated in the next room, I can’t talk about puppy behavior here” I will NOT be returning and would NEVER recommend this place. I work in health care and would never say anything remotely close to that to one of my patient’s family members, as it made me feel like my 13 week old puppy was unimportant and dismissed. Do not go here. He went that long without being able to use the bathroom, and again he is a 13 week old puppy.

It's any pet owner's nightmare to need an emergency vet, and especially scary when it's a reptile--it can be hard to find people who are knowledgeable about their needs. I had a leopard gecko who was rapidly declining late at night, and they were able to take him in and try to treat him, and I found their treatment to be appropriate. My main complaints with the practice are largely ones that I don't really blame staff for. I was unable to be with my gecko for much of the process, waiting in the parking lot for a while, and the cost was about 4 or 5 times what I would pay at my regular vet, but I understand wanting space to work, and needing to charge higher fees for being available on such short turnaround. Options for what to do with my pet's remains were presented in a shockingly frank manner, and I felt rushed to make a pricy decision, and in the end did not get to keep any of his remains. Only other drawback was that staff seemed rather desensitized to my grief, but I was given time alone in a room with a couch to say goodbyes.Overall, I think I would recommend this vet if it's late at night and your pet needs immediate care. I know the staff works hard, and is under constant pressure. If I could, though, I would prioritize trying to get my pet in to my usual vet in town, all pets vet, over somewhere that doesn't already know them.

You are all amazing! My husband and I brought in our bunny Daisy Saturday night in a panic. She was going through a blockage and had stopped eating/pooping and I was truly afraid I would lose my bunny. She stayed at CP for two nights and she’s slowly getting back to herself. They helped her so much when she was at her sickest. They went to the store and got her foods to try and did all they could do to get her appetite back while they gave her all the care she needed! They were so thoughtful and helpful. I appreciated all of the updates through this anxious time. Everyone from the doctors to the techs to the receptionists were kind, caring, and helpful. My bunny is home now, and though she’s not fully 100% yet, I believe she will get there with time thanks to all of your exceptional care and knowledge on what to do for my sweet bunny!

Called about my sick pet (I would say the type of pet but scared of treatment going forward if I had to use the service unfortunately) and the receptionist was not very nice to someone worried about their companion/emotional support pet. He is my best friend and is with me every where. I’m currently literally sick worrying about him. She was extremely rude and interruptive. Her name is Chrissy. I said “bro” like “bro please level with me. (Before this I asked if she could be nicer to me several times.) And she responded “I am a female.” It was not needed and she knew what I meant. If this is how she treats people on the phone, I can imagine the culture and I’m unsure whether I should actually take my pet there or not. She had me crying, when I was already worried at about midnight. She wouldn’t stop being rude even when I asked for me own benefit. Laughed at me, talked over me and exhibited frustration every time I went to speak. I am a manager of a store, never publicly wrote a review before and wouldn’t complain unless this had a serious impact on me. I don’t know if I mentally prepared for that interaction again if I need to call them in the morning. If someone takes this job, calming and a sympathetic nature should be a prerequisite

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about cpvets. I had called upset, crying, freaking out not know what my next steps were. My puppy has parvo. It hit him very quick. He was fine one day and extremely sick the next. We took him to the vet where they gave him fluids brought him home and he was completely limp. I held him called another emergency vet (will not mention names) they didn’t even seem to want to see him at all. After that call he had a seizure and went completely lifeless I called cpvets in fear and sadness that I needed my pup to be euthanized. They said are you sure that is the route you want to take. At that point I thought that was the only option I had being the shape he was in as I was holding him. I said if there is treatment I would love to see him thrive and survive but in my eyes he was gone. They said bring him down we will give him a quality of life check. When they took him in and came out and gave us our options I was not wanting to give up on my baby and I am glad I didn’t. Dr. Loar, Dr. Coleman, and (I apologize I forgot the third doctors name.) I am forever grateful for all the care you all and your staff had put in to make sure Garrett came home. My home and heart are full again and I could never thank you all enough! He is soaking up mommas love and I am more than happy to give it to him. ❤️ Pictures attached are of him on the way home and a couple weeks ago with his brother and sister. ❤️If they were only worried about the money they would have kept everything I paid and made up some numbers for it to make sense cause I was willing to pay anything to get my baby fixed up, but they refunded me what they didn’t use (around 2,000 dollars) and everything they did was even less than what I was originally quoted for treatment. Would absolutely come here again if I absolutely needed too. Emergency vet equal emergency fees.

Very upset with this place!! My dog was completely traumatized and will not even go up to people anymore. Before that she never met a stranger. She was taken in because she had eaten part of her toy. They did X-ray told me they were concerned with what they saw never asking us if we wanted to see them. As matter of fact wouldn’t let me see my dog either. They wanted to keep her overnight for observation and X-rays again next day. They called saying still something there looks concerning and suggested exploratory surgery. Still was never asked if I wanted to see the X-rays. I should have asked and demanded but was very upset about them wanting to do surgery and didn’t. We did let them do surgery and they found nothing. I was told later by another vet that surgery is considered last resort!!! Apparently not there. But her incision looked terrible and the razor burn on both of her side are still not healed 11 days later. If you get the chance to get a second option take it. They had zero compassion for my baby and you can tell by her recent behavior.

Saved my precious boy!My cat got severely ill, I called EVERY vet in town and out trying to get him in. It was around lunch time, cpvets was not open at the time but said they would be open at 7 and were triage instead of appointment. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to wait until then, we traveled 45 minutes to get to cpvets just to show how far we searched for a vet...We were 95% sure our sweet boy was going to be euthanized, he was only two but so friggin bad...they took him back immediately, determined he had a blockage, even after clearing it his blood work was so all over the place they were not confident enough to offer more than 50/50 odds. As noted in my headline, they were able to save him.I really appreciated how friendly the staff was at intake. He had to stay with them for a few days and at the end of every shift the vet who was over seeing him would call to give an update. Even if nothing had changed from "his blood work looks good" to "his blood work still looks good" they would still call and would always advise when to expect the next update, and called with any changes within that time frame.Yes, the price is going to be more expensive at an emergency vet than your regular vet. We knew that when we drove up. They don't offer payments, but they do have resources available for financial plans that do exist specifically for your animal's medical bills. It sucks that our cat went through this, it sucks that we had to spend thousands of dollars because no one ever likes to spend that kind of money, but the care we received was exactly what we needed, and delivered with kindness, and most importantly we get to bring our baby home. They even gave us guidance on the kind of lifestyle changes he needs moving forward as he is more susceptible for it to happen again.

Had to bring my cat in the afternoon. We had an hour and a half drive. Everyone I spoke with (The Vet and nurses) were super nice and reassuring. They were sure to ask plenty of questions and let me ask all the questions I needed to. It was a rough day and taking my cat to these people was the best thing I could do for him. They got to the bottom of a serious and on going issue. Now I know how to help him.

The absolute worst place to ever take a pet, the little girl that made me and my brother go in and pick up our sick dog and out on the gurney said good luck carrying him the rest of his life? It was the worst place I ever seen! Please don't take your pets there!

I have nothing but nice things to say about this place. We took our Super Sun Conure here because he was acting ill. We drove over an hour to get here. The vet came out and told us what she found and what needed to be done. They gave us a quote with a low and high end which I really liked. Yes, we did have to put half down and the other half when we pick him up BUT they are a business and need that revenue to stay in business. They do have financing options but fortunately we were able to take care of it on our own. They kept him two nights but we were allowed in on the second day he was there to visit with him a little. The vet told us that birds were not her specialty but she did reach out to colleagues who were and was able to get him the medicine and treatment he needed. When we went in to see him it was very clean and the staff were very friendly. On the day we were to pick him up in the evening I called to get an update and the vet said he was acting like a bird again and that the staff were just loving him and he was loving them right back. They are not bound like a hospital to give life saving care regardless of ability to pay. When you own a pet, you assume that things like these can happen and need to have resources to deal with them if they should. I am thankful for the kindness and compassion of the staff and for them taking care of my parrot as if it were their own.

We were here a few weeks ago with our sweet little Ozzy poz and sadly the results were definitely not the one we wanted to hear, our sweet boy had to cross the rainbow bridge, but they were oh so kind about the whole situation and when we got there with him they looked so concerned cause they knew it wasn’t good. They let me hold him as he was put to Sleep and let us know We we’re doing the right thing for him. I’m grateful for the care he got. 💕💕

I took my dog for an issue that they fixed however I had told them I think she hot spots, which means your dog will chew relentlessly even if bleeding starts, after 6 hours of sitting in my car and a hour drive home I look and she has a chunk that she has chewed raw while in thier care. No precautions were in place for my pup when I stated a problem I think she has, it's abusive and cruel they should not be allowed to operate a clinic.

We drove an hour to CPVets a week ago on a Fri night because our older dog whom was a rescue at about 1 yr old and is treated like a family member (we think is approx 14 yrs old) was having issues after dinner time and was pacing the floor and couldn't lay or sit down or settle after having just came in from a walk. She hadn't pottied but she acted like she needed to and was trying to squat to poop but couldn't. So we knew something was very wrong. So we rushed her to CPVets after normal business hrs (1hr drive) and Covid was still in place so they came out to us in the car. Long story short, they ran tests and scans and found out that her stomach had twisted. They could do surgery but since she was old they suggested that she probably wouldn't survive it. We kind of knew and prepared for whatever the problem was she was too old to go thru any surgery. Very sad news but they were super nice and let us come in to say our goodbye's and said they had sedated her for the pain. So we spent as much time as we needed and they were very busy and when we were ready they came in and let us hold her while giving the shot to euthanize her and had told us it would only take 30-60 seconds. So very hard to do for our precious baby girl who we rescued when she was 1 yr old and just had pups then was taken to the local dog pound. She was family to us. And I must say they were very professional and very heartfelt for our loss. We are grateful for CPVets being open after hrs and grateful that she didn't suffer but a few hrs and left us w/great memories! They were very professional and thoughtful. The bill was just over a $1000 but they did bloodwork, scans, x-rays, etc and we had her cremated and they are mailing us her ashes.Highly recommend them.

I had to bring my 19-year-old cat, Lottie, into CP Vets late the other night. She has been in pretty good health despite her age, so I was really concerned that she suddenly seemed sick and kinda out of it. I've had this cat for 18 of those 19 years, so I was sobbing like a fool when I brought her in. All of the staff were extremely kind and gentle. There were at least two other patients in there before us and someone still came to check on Lottie immediately to make sure she was stable enough to wait with me. The technician that brought us into the room and took vitals/info was kind and thorough. Dr. Loar was excellent and it did not take her long to find a tumor in her stomach as well as deduce that she had eaten a bunch of cat litter in an attempt to ease the pain and nausea she was having. Dr. Loar gave me a few options, but gently told me that she was probably near the end of her life. She respected my decision to take Lottie home - I wanted to spend time with her (I had been away from home that day), I wanted to wait for my partner to get home from out of town the next day, and I wanted to be able to take her into her regular vet. So, they gave her IV fluids and meds for the pain and nausea before we left. She rested peacefully through the night and we said goodbye the following day at our regular vet.I want to address finances because I have seen so many negative reviews about pricing. I paid $450 for the visit, x-rays, an x-ray consult, an ultrasound, IV fluids, and two injections of pain and nausea medications. As a member of the struggling middle class, I feel that this is completely reasonable. Emergency services will always cost more and they should. These people are working odd hours for our convenience. They probably have to deal with emotionally exhausting situations all of the time. I really felt like the whole staff cared about me and my kitty and want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.Rest in peace, sweet Lottie.

-You put my animal down and refused to allow us inside.I'm sure all you stupid fks took multiple shots so you can even stay employed here, and so did most of us - so why are you still forcing people to park & stay outside? You put down my animal and refused to let us inside. We had no options because he deteriorated that quickly and we thought you might make an exception during a dire time.. but no. They first said it was because he was a pocket pet.. then said it's because he'd be in a treatment area with other pets.. (meaning we m8ght spread covid because we'd be near th3m) but the reality is they only started doing this during covid and haven't stopped. Co7ntless peo0le have complain3d there's no oversight and what the animals were treated for was never fixed.. ther3s countless 1 star ratings for you.. and I see why. We we tricked into choosing you and my animal died al9ne. (Sh3 had the audacity to say "we'll be there") as if you're his lifel9ng fri3nd. Again, what's different about you that you can be there and not his family. I'm either gonna sue or cam0aign to have this place closed. I. Emotionally disturbed by this event. They didn't tell us on the phone that we'd be stuck outside when they knew what we were coming to do.. we were baited in for money. I'm coming for your reputation and bank account, cp vets.Sorry for the typos folks... the phone won't show where you're typing and it stays fixed.

Great experience! Not our normal vet, but they were able to see our dog sooner. Check-in was a breeze. Staff was professional, caring, and super friendly. Did a great job explaining the procedures and diagnosing our boy. I would both highly recommend and use again.

Our fur baby became suddenly ill overnight. When we arrived at CP vets they discovered he had a mass in his stomach and was suffering. While our prognosis wasn’t what we had hoped for, I cannot say enough good things about CP vets. The staff was amazing and compassionate. They didn’t rush us and gave us a private room to say our goodbyes. Every single person we encountered there was wonderful. ❤️

Horrible Customer service. My dog needed surgery they tried to add things unnecessary playing on my attachment to my dog. Luckily I was able to seek guidance from another source. The website said its open 24 hours when I picked up my dog they charged me a late fee. I was NEVER told about having to pick him up at a certain time. When I did arrive 36 minutes late the tech that brought him out was very rude. I pray I never have to use this facility again. There us signage in the parking lot about being courteous to their Team Members now I know why. This seems to be their normal practice so I'm sure they get many irritated Customers due to their actions.

Cp vets is not even worth a negative star rating. They are a complete joke. I took my 7 year old English mastiff there to be checked due to pregnancy complications. First of all it’s all curbside service and they won’t even look at your pet until you fill out their paperwork and pay them $165. After that they take your pet inside and you’re not even allowed inside the building. They would not proceed with any treatment until I provided them another $500 as a deposit. They pretty much told me we have to do a c-section or nothing. I ended up taking my dog home after spending almost $800 without my dogs problem being solved. You will have no idea if they are actually doing x rays, giving meds, or anything like that. They could have easily not done a single thing to her and I would have never known. It is so clear and obvious that they only care about taking as much money from you as they can. They take advantage of being an emergency veterinary clinic while not properly caring for your pet. To top it off I spent nearly 4 hours in the dark having no idea of what was going on with my pup. The only time that I was able to get an update was when I had to make a phone call to find out what was going on. This place had to be the worst possible vet to take your loved ones.

I paid $3,996.74 for a misdiagnosis of a dog that I rescued as a stray less than a week before (which we now adopted). My 5 year old dog was admitted on Saturday 11/23/19. She had bloody diarrhea and wasn't eating or drinking. The vet told me she tested positive for parvo (after they did xrays, ultrasounds, blood test, etc). They weren't even going to test her for Parvo until I asked if it was a possibility at her age.Paige was admitted for 4 days and was treated for Parvo, but made very little change in health. CPVets made a huge deal saying her treatment needed to be continued and she needed to be transferred because they were closing. On Tuesday 11/26/19, I picked her up and took her home because they were trying to transfer her to some random place to continue treatment she didn't need. The only thing my dog needed was an IV due to her being severely dehydrated. When I picked her up, she was in worse shape than when I first took her in. The vet claimed she perked up during their care but yet she could barely walk to the car.I took her to my primary vet (All Pets Vet Clinic) where he analyzed the test results in the transfer papers. He said the results for the parvo test were incorrect. He diagnosed Paige with a severe abdominal infection and gave her 1 medication, an IV, and a dewormer. 30 minutes later, my dog was back to normal.I requested a fecal exam during Paige's care at CPVets that was never preformed or else they would have known what was actually wrong. I tried calling and explaining but CPVets claimed that Paige needed the continued treatment, yet my dog recovered fully from treatment at All Pets within 30 mins and was sent home with a clean bill of health.Save your time and money - try to wait until your primary vet opens so you know you're taking your dog to a vet that cares about their health rather than a paycheck.

No one ever wants to have to use an emergency vet service, but if you do go to here! We unfortunately had to use their services twice this fall for our 6 month old boxer who had to have emergency surgery for a blockage. Our normal vet was not able to do the surgery that day and recommended us to them. They saved our dogs life! They also updated us every couple hours about how he is doing, everyone we interacted with was so nice and was able to keep us calm as we were dealing with this awful situation. He healed up perfectly and was back to his normal self almost immediately. We then had to use their services a month later over a weekend when he was just acting strange, stopped eating and drinking as well. He spent another overnight visit with them and they were able to get him back to his normal self. Like at the pervious visit all the staff we interacted with were very nice, professional, and made us feel better about the situation. They were always able to answer any question that we had in a timely manner. I can’t imagine all of the situations they are dealt with on a daily basis, but I can not say enough good things about the service they provided us! If I have any other emergency vet issues in the future with any of my pets, they will be coming here! Thank you guys for saving Chaplins life!

We have been here many times for various reasons over the years (hurt kitty paw, having to put a dog down, getting a dog to regurgitate something he shouldn’t have eaten to name a few reasons). They have been amazing each time. Most recently, we had to visit because our dog was on a heart medication that we were not able to refill before the weekend started and they were able to see him for a quick check up and provide us with medication for the weekend at a low cost. I am forever grateful that this place exists. Have had nothing but great interactions here.

We are so grateful to Dr.Tartaglino and the staff at CPVets for their compassionate, kind, and professional care of our beloved dog, Abi. Abi lived with congestive heart failure for many years and last week we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to her when her health worsened.Dr. Tartaglino and the entire staff were wonderful with Abi and very caring and kind to my husband and me during this traumatic experience.I would absolutely choose CPVets again for emergency care for any of my pets.
