When I started looking for mealworms I noticed a few places had recommended Uncle Jim's Worm Farm, so I decided to give them a try. And honestly, I was shocked at how quickly everything was taken care of. The order was packed and out the door with a label in under 24 hours. I then had a slight hiccup with some die off in transit, so I emailed the company. Within about 2 hours I had a response and a replacement on the way (as of Monday morning, so they didn't sit in the post office over the weekend). I was absolutely stunned and so grateful for the way in which they handled the issue, on top of the speed with which everything came through. The replacement worms are in great shape and already set up and thriving and should I ever need to order more in the future I will DEFINITELY be working with this company. 10/10 quality, 10/10 customer service. Couldn't be happier!

My kids love playing in the yard digging up worms. We also garden so I thought hey, let's buy a farm. We got the big kit from Jim's. I also ordered 1000 nightcrawlers. Setup was easy, materials are okay, all plastic but it makes it easy. The problem with this company is you really have to count your worms. We paid for 1000 nightcrawlers and they came in two bags. My 11 year old with small hands was able to hold all the worms in each bag in her hand. We didn't sit and count each one but a quick eyeball with them laid out there was at most 500 total. So I messaged the company. They said they would send us 500 more. Those came Wednesday. We actually counted and there was 244 worms in the bag. I didn't bother messaging again. It was clear to me what's going on here. Overall was it worth the $300 invested, yes, my kids and garden will benefit. However, if you buy from here I caution you to count what you pay for.

I would def. Buy from them again. When my package showed up there was some dead meal worms, which can happen in shipping. The customer service was excellent and they sent me out a reshipment. I recieved new shipment today and all worms were great. Thank you

10k dead worms when I opened the box today. I got to the box within minutes of being delivered. Most of the dead worms looked super old and dried up already. Such a let down. I send a request through the website for resolution. Update... I put my request Friday afternoon through the website after my order was delivered and I have yet to be contacted. I tried calling this company 2 times this week and they do jot have an answering machine to request a callback and the voice greeting tells you to submit a request through the website. They are so hard to reach for a resolution. I filed a dispute with PayPal and I am lucky i have food for my critters still.

I’ve purchased a worm factory 360 from these guys and would highly recommend the product and the company. I also purchased 1000 worms. The worms must’ve died in transit. Uncle Jim’s sent me new worms right away. You guys rock!

This is the first time ordering meal worms from Uncle Jim's worm farm. We received 1000 live mealworms for less than $23 (very reasonable imo with free shipping). I put the order in on their website on Sunday afternoon and we received our order Tuesday afternoon (sufficiently quick). The worms came in a breathable zipper bag with care instructions. There were a few dead ones (to be expected) but the majority were alive and in good condition (a much better alive to dead ratio than our local pet store delivers).Anyway, our beardie was very pleased with the size and quality, and so were we with the efficiency of delivery and quality of the product. I recently moved into a new home that had a compost bin and wanted to get some worms for it. I've never purchased worms before and was kind of shocked at how expensive they were. After research - that's just the going price and Uncle Jim's is actually one of the most affordable ones you can find. I ordered, and they were quickly shipped out and I found myself with a bag of 1K worms! I did as the directions said... poured some water on them and then just added them to my bin, where they're even ever since. I'm not worm expert (or compost expert) but they seem to be thriving! Whenever I add and turn the composed I see some and they appear to be very active!The only odd thing was that I got an email about my order going through a couple weeks after I received them, so I was nervous that they might have charged me twice or that I had accidentally subscribed to a subscription - But I called, got through right away to a REAL PERSON who was super nice and assured me it was just a system flaw and I wasn't charged twice. It actually made me feel even better about the company having talked with a real person who worked there who seemed like a happy, welcoming person who treated me like mu business meant something. I'd definitely feel good about buying from Uncle Jim's!

I have ordered from Uncle Jim a half dozen times. This time there was an issue and my worms ended up being delivered dead. Upon letting customer service know they immediately sent my order back out again no questions asked. I can't explain how much that means. I ordered worms a month and a half ago when Vermont was in a warm spell, and they were scheduled to arrive on Friday morning, the food did, but the worms got left behind at the facility. Over the weekend, there was a cold snap and all of the worms froze. Uncle Jim's was very apologetic and refunded the worms.I waited again to a period of 50s and this time they arrived on time, never froze, and are in great shape. They've settled in nicely and seem to be doing well. I'm very happy with them.

I’ve ordered from Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm twice. Both times I received lively healthy worms. There are a few generations from my first order going. I primarily use the red wigglers for fish food so I’m pretty discerning when it comes to worms. Using scraps and having great potting medium is a bonus! They are housed in a homemade double tote bin (indoor) their favorite food is cucumbers. They have cococoir, shredddd brown paper and leaves for bedding. All that to say they are healthy and if treated properly, will not disappoint.

REALLY disappointed, the worms they show on the site are huge compared to the worms you get.. which are litterally less than 2 inches long and super skinny.. the packaging said wait 2 days and they would get to their normal size. It's been 4 days, I've fed them right after rehydrating them when the package arrived, and they are still sooooo small. I got these to feed my turtle tbh, and these will only be a light snack. So disappointed in the false advertising.Going to keep for the compost bin, But wish they were honest about the size... like I said, only bought to feed my turtle..

I had a good experience when I made my first purchase which is why I put the second star, but a very poor one recently. I ordered two different types of worms, one for my lawn and another for compost. All came in identical bags. All worms looked the exact same size (one was supposed to be larger). They do say that worms are smaller when they arrive, but time is of the essence, get them into the ground asap! Customer service replied days later and after several back and forths, they were out of the red bags to differentiate, but never let me know which was which. So at this point, I might have been mailed the wrong worms or probably at least put them in the wrong area due to the lazy communication. Feels like a complete waste of money and definitely of time. After many communications with different reps each time, no offer for refund or assistance of any kind. Won't be buying again.

These arrived today, June 23, 2023, in very good shape. The worms are rather "slim and trim" but that's due to dehydration. I dropped them in my prepared in-ground earthworm bin and they started doing the happy dance. Will purchase more for the other three beds.

Purchased the email BOGO offer of 10,000 mealworms. They arrived fairly ok given a 5 day trip in the mail. I'd say I lost about 1,000 or so in transit. In hindsight I would suggest doing next day shipping. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. The worms are doing great and after just over a week are already pupating. Highly recommended.

Uncle Jim's Worm Farm really went above and beyond for me in the area of customer service! I was looking for some worms to get me started with worm castings for my garden. We have recently ordered mealworms through uncle Jim's during their Black Friday specials event. When we received our mealworms some of them had not made it during the trip which was kind of to be expected. We reached out to Uncle Jim's the customer service was phenomenal they took care of us sent out our original order again which was 4,000 milworms could not be happier with the way we've been treated. I highly recommend this company to anybody looking to get into red wigglers mealworms or any other kind of worm activities.

Red-wiggler composting worms were delivered in two days and were in great shape. I purchased these worms for composting. They came quickly, healthy, and exactly as described. I am very pleased with my purchase. I noticed some people complained about the small size of the worms. You should understand before making your first worm purchase that worms are dehydrated for safe travel and thus shrink CONSIDERABLY. This is normal and your worms will grow over time if you follow the instructions that come in the box. Again, very happy with this purchase. I would definitely recommend Uncle Jim's Worm Farm.

AMAZING customer service. The worms I received were all very active and looked very healthy. I made a mistake on my order and I emailed them on Easter Sunday and Jim responded back within a couple hours. They fixed my omission and shipped the worms Monday morning. I received them Tuesday morning and they were in great shape. Fantastic company to work with they clearly care for their customers and their product.
