My cat was a patient here ever since we adopted her. The staff was very excellent and loving to my kitty. They have been wonderful to us and showed my cat lots of loving and care at the appointments. We lost our beloved cat in 2020 but they gave her love and comfort before her passing. I am thankful for the years that they took amazing care of my cat. The receptionist Dionne is so sweet too. She was very sweet to my baby. I highly recommend this vet.

My kitty had pyometra and I called easily 10+ vets trying to get her seen. This was the only one to get me in immediately, within 25 minutes of me calling. Most of the others werent accepting new patients, even knowing this was life threatening. They diagnosed her, quoted the price for emergency surgery, which was very very high. They did what they could to get it down some & we were able to do it. When I called to say we would do the surgery, they scheduled her in immediately, without any hesitation. They truly cared, took wonderful care of her, and ultimately saved her life. They have called twice since the surgery yesterday to follow up on how she is doing. They truly seem to care. Your animal is in good hands with them.

My first time going here was in an emergency. They treated Triscuit amazingly. They kept in well in the know. Since then they've become my normal vet for my dog and two cats. They are a bit more expensive than places I've been, but they clearly care for their animals in a way I've never seen from other clinics. I especially love the pictures I get of my animals on holidays!

Wouldn't recommend, crazy system here, before visit asked to email rabies documents (emailed three times, not received.. even though we had 3 read receipts) upon arrival your instructed to call from parking lot, wait to be called back by secretary, wait for nurse to call to sell you extra services, wait for secretary to call and tell you what you owe (keep in mind our pet has yet to exit the vehicle or see anyone), wait for the "nurse" to come fetch your pet (you are not permitted inside or permitted to actually speak to the "vet"), owner waits for their pet in the car, have your payment ready, pay the lady (over $200 for a med check), now your pet is returned with still never having been given to opportunity to speak to the "vet" personally. If your lucky the "nurse" will fill you in, then again maybe not. Don't expect a smile or a thank you for your visiting as there is NO customer service here.When paying for veterinary services, one likes to see and speak to the vet!

Terrible experience. They refused to release my cat back to me, unless I authorized them to administer a rabies vaccine. Even though I explained he was only being brought there for emergency treatment, then he would return to his regular vet for his shots. Then after all was said and done, they never sent the shot record back to our regular vet, even after I called multiple times to request it.

I can't express enough how much this place is amazing. The staff is caring and concerned. They take care of my pets if they where there own. A gentle touch and caring hearts. My fur babies love going here. Highly recommend them.

Our dog limped back after catching his frisbee with nonstop licking, in obvious distress, and I've never seen him limp. I called more than 6 different vets, almost ready to drive 1.5hrs away so that he could be seen the same day, then made a hopeful 7th call to the Slippery Rock Vet Hospital ~25min away. They scheduled an appointment based on my drive time AND even contacted his regular vet to obtain records before we arrived. Incredibly understanding staff, serene front porch waiting area, thorough examination and discussion with the Dr., and a follow-up call the next day to check on his progress. Fantastic experience, really appreciate the whole office.

I’ve been bringing my dog here for a few years now for the convenience of being a student at and living in SR. I am aware that vet care is not cheap by any means, but I had called and asked how much my dog’s upcoming visit would be and was quoted $275. I brought my perfectly healthy dog to his appointment and they did a bunch of unnecessary tests and the total ended up being over $600. Then they took it upon themselves to schedule a $550 dental procedure, that again, is not necessary. I just find it ridiculous that they’re expecting people to pay over $1100 for one pet’s ROUTINE vet care. What happens if my dog needs life-saving surgery I now would have no way to afford because they wiped out the money budgeted for my animals.

We took our dog because he was having a seizure. Although it is typically a surgery day the vet took time to evaluate our dog. While the dog was there he started having additional seizures. The vet determined that the dog would not recover so he made the euthanasia as quickly and painlessly as possible. We were present during our beloved dog's final moments. We were required to wear masks. This vet would have saved our dog if possible. He has done so in the past.

My corgi mix had been limping and no longer jumping. Given the chances of back injury in corgis I was happy to take a next day appointment with them for their pet chiropractor (who is my own chiropractor and I trust deeply!). Dr. Soursa sees the animal beforehand to determine if chiropractic will be safe which I understand and appreciate the caution. However this is where I lost all respect for this veterinary practice. Rather than listening to my concerns and her symptoms, they claimed my dog had lymes, a bad foot, the works (no mention of back injury) and wanted $700 in testing to confirm what I felt was total bologna. I left for a second opinion and 2 days later my pup had major surgery for stage 4 IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) that led to full paralysis of her back legs. The operating vet said surgery may have been avoided if she had been adjusted like I initially brought her here to be. It seems there's a reason for how easy it is to make an appointment with them.

Great staff. My dog had an issue that kept her in the hospital for 4 days. Doctor called everyday, yes even weekends, to give me an update. Got a follow up the day after picking her up. They seem to really care. My dog is getting better faster than expected.

I went here when I first became a cat mom and I can say with certainty they overcharged me. Since then, I went to different vets that have treated me better and charged less. If money is not a concern for you, then this vet is fine. I also wish the vet would have come out to my car and spoke with me face to face. That is a service I found at other vets and liked a lot.

I brought my cat here for an emergency visit because none of the vets in Grove City could see her for several days. The vet examined her and determined that she was suffering. We talked about options and decided that euthanasia was the best option. They let me stay with her until the end and offered condolences as I was leaving. Their care and consideration made a horrible situation as good as it could possibly be.VERY courteous, caring, and professional.

Dr. Suorsa and his staff are wonderful. I left for a few years because they are more expensive than some other vets. But you do get what you pay for. I went to a different vet that said my dog needed surgery. I put him through it only to find out it was completely unnecessary. My babies are back with Dr Suorsa for good. He is caring, thorough, willing to look into treatments that he hasn't previously used etc. He takes great care of my pets and his staff do as well. Plus, everyone is always extremely friendly!

My cat is on prescription cat food. I’ve been getting it through this vet and Chewy.com for a year now. I tried to place the order before I left for vacation and the vet denied it because my cat hasn’t been seen in a while. I received no warning that they weren’t going to give me any more refills unless he was seen, they just cut me off when I only had about 4 days of food left.I even had chewy call the vet and ask if they’d make an exception because I moved an hour away and worked every day until I left for vacation, so there was no possible way for me to make it to Slippery Rock by Wednesday.I also told the office how stuck I was and again, instead of approving this order and saying they wouldn’t refill the next one unless he was seen, they just denied it. No sympathy for how my cat would be sick if I had to put him on something else so he wouldn’t starve in between now and when I could make an appointment.The woman explained my cat needs to be seen every year to maintain a relationship with this vet, which I understood. However, they made it clear they had no desire to help me unless I made an appointment, which I was unable to do so last minute, especially just to receive a prescription for a food allergy.LUCKILY, Chewy.com honored the order because they agreed with me that the vet’s decision was not in the best interest of my cat, but in best interest of their business, so they approved my order and told me I need a vet prescription for the next bag....which I will be getting from a different vet. Go to Alpine Veterinary Clinic if you need a vet in the Slippery Rock area. They’ll actually put your pet first.

Know a lot of people who take their pets here. They're very friendly and accommodating. I live a 1/2 away,needed to bring my dog in ,thought he had an ear infection, ( didn't) but had not enough time to bring to vet then home then to work and make it on time. So they said bring him in the morning and let him hang around with us for the day. Then pick him up after work. What was the cost for that I asked. Answer $0. 😃 That's not just a good vet but a great vet in my book. He was kind, friendly, and explained to me all he would need to do. Even came out when we were leaving and gave my 8 month old Rottweiler a pet n pat on the head and a good bye. I really like Dr. Suorsa n the whole staff.

If I could give zero stars I WOULD! This hospital is the worst I’ve ever been to and I will never recommend it. They constantly fought me on every issue I had, never apologized for anything, and don’t know the meaning of customer service. My cat was sent home covered in urine (her carrier was dry so it happened in their care) and when I expressed how upset that made me, I was basically told that I was lying and there was no way that was possible and that she was wet from a wipe. I told them how it was very much not wetness from a wipe, it was urine, and they said “well it was probably the wipe”. I am currently trying to receive my records from them in which I provided paper copies from my previous vet and they told me that they don’t have them because they don’t keep them. I said that I did not receive the original copies back so they must’ve kept them, and again they just keep fighting me and telling me that I’m wrong. This has been the absolute worst experience that my animals and I have had and it has left me completely baffled how people in a service industry can be so rude, thoughtless, and careless. Maybe they should find new professions if they can’t help and accommodate their patients and families.

We saw them during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff handled the situation very well, our older dog had to stay over two nights. She came back happy and healthy! Today we received a holiday themed post card with pictures of our pup! Above and beyond customer service! The staff made sure to keep me posted and updated about her condition. I was not the most comfortable leaving my baby over night for one night let alone two. They took very good care of her.

When paying a few hundred dollars for you pet to see the veterinarian, you'd actually like to speak with/see them. That is not the practice here. Everything is over the phone or in the parking lot with a tech.No thank you

Recently had my new pup over there for her rabbis shot had a slight bump afterwards, which is normal. Called the vet and they said they would like to do a quick check on it to ensure it’s from the shot. Was in and out of the office super quick and they were very accommodating with my schedule for future visits! Highly recommend for the greater Slippery Rock area.

Seems to be a good place to take your animals. We had an emergency situation (not sickness) with the immediate need for a health certificate, and this was the only vet within 100mi that was willing to accommodate us. That alone makes them "top notch" as far as I am concerned. But they also checked the dog very well. I haven't got the bill yet, so I will comment about that once I get it. 125.00 was the damage, so in actuality I will call that a negative. I only typically pay around 50.00 for these. They also put flea control medicine on her, by 75.00 seems a "touch" high to me. That's what I get for not being ahead on this. Waiting causes you to have to pay the piper sometimes.

I've never been to Slippery Rock Veterinary Hospital until today. I had an urgent situation, my dog had a foreign object embedded in her leg joint, I was seen promptly, and was treated well. Dr. Suorsa was very professional! Was it expensive, yes, maybe, but it was an urgent situation and being in business is expensive, I feel the charges were reasonable for the services received. Kudos to the entire staff at Slippery Rock Veterinary Hospital.

I brought my pets here, and the vets and staff were always very kind and helpful. They really cared about my animals and making sure that they were well-taken care of. It's a shame that I've moved away and won't be able to go to them anymore. I really hope I'll be able to find another group of vets care about their clients' pets as they do!

Dr. Suorsa and all the staff at Slippery Rock Veterinary Hospital are amazing! They provide excellent and thorough care. I trust them with my 3 cats; and that's saying something! They are compassionate and kind. Dr. Suorsa, the office staff, and nurse, are friendly and listen to all my concerns. Dr. Suorsa answers my questions in such a way that even I understand, lol. Dr. Suorsa treated my 14-year-old kitty's skin allergy and performed surgery on her mouth last November (2019). She is happier and healthier than she has been in many years. And, yes, I had always kept up on her care throughout her years, seeing other veterinarians. Dr. Suorsa and staff have provided excellent 'curbside' outpatient service for my 2-yr-old and 3-yr-old boys over the past few months. I never hesitate to call Slippery Rock Veterinary Hospital; and highly recommend them!
