1st time here. My husband and I joined friends for dinner. The staff is very friendly. We had a new waiter, Tyler, and when he got behind on his tables, his co-workers stepped in to help. A shout to Rachel for making me a lavender Martini 🤤. 7 days a week from 4-6, they have a happy hour menu, so we got the .50 cent wings 🤤. They also have 2 types of sliders on the happy hour menu as well. We all liked our food. I got the classic burger, my husband had the chicken potpie, my friend got fish and chips while her boyfriend got the mushroom soup and Boston steak tips. We had a great time. The place filled up by the time we left. When we walked out, there was a couple dancing to the music at the bar. They looked like they were having a great time.

Ok, so let me preface this review by saying we were driving through and it was the first place looked cool! And it definitely is... loving dogs is a bonus in my book! The food is very good, but I just wanted to enjoy a diet coke and they couldn't get the co2 working. (Not the end of the world, but I can't drink alcohol, so that's my treat). My only issue. The staff was amazing. So very sweet and accommodating!

New to the area and have been enjoying trying all the "new to us" places. So far the Stray Dog has been our favorite! Awsome fun outside bar with live music on the weekends. The bartenders here are excellent... shout out to Shane! The food is delicious as well. I recommend their burgers, wings, or brick chicken. You really can't go wrong with anything here. The inside is nice as well, it's set up like an old Irish pub with many rooms and dark wood floors and a wood bar. It's such an injustice that this place has a 3.8 star rating because that is simply just not the case. 5 stars from me!

I came here because I saw the new vegetarian menu they recently added and I was not disappointed! The vegetarian Gouda Mac & Cheese was delicious, I devoured it. My family also enjoyed the Chicken Pot Pie and Vegetarian Gnocchi. The bread that came with the Gnocchi was fresh and plump! The French Fries reminded me of McDonald fries without the salt (this is a compliment!!). Our waitress Lisa was wonderful. She was attentive, patient, and friendly. She gave us our space but always made sure we were content. We also loved how warm it was inside!

We gave this place several tries with the kids. Sat inside and out. Tried different dishes each time. Service varies drastically based on where you sit. Sit near the bar in a booth and you're not a priority. Sit outside and you'll get better faster service. Mixed drinks are not great. Beer selection is very good though.Food is subpar at best. We tried wings, nachos, and other apps and they weren't very good. Nachos were really bad. Shoestring fries were covered in chunks of raw garlic and were unpleasant, even for a garlic fan. French Onion Soup was bland. Steak sandwich with balsamic and gorgonzola was... weird. Pizzas are okay, same with the burgers and some of the sandwiches and entrees. But really, I dont think anyone comes here for the food. They're coming for the bar and the music and that's about it.Want really great dive bar food and drinks with a better atmosphere, more outdoor seating and entertainment, and better service? Drive around the corner to The Dutch Tavern. You'll thank me later.

It’s going thru a new owner renovation which is great for locals.Food was delicious. The menu had plenty of different options for different palate’s. Owner did say they are changing the menu after the new name is completed to coordinate the new change. Sounds exciting!Prices compared to the food was very reasonable.Service was great and attentive. The beer selection was great. No cocktail menu but the bartender is able to make any requests.Location is great and easy since it’s on the main road on Skippack Pike.Decor is in progress.Parking appears to be ample. Other retail shops are across the parking lot so they seem to share the spaces.Definitely will have to revisit after the renovation.

My family stopped in for lunch and everything was delicious. The menu had a lot of options and they have a large beer selection. The tomato pie, pretzel, and deviled eggs were great. One of the best tomato pies I have tried! The steak sandwich was great, but I had to use a fork and knife as it is 2 larger uncut pieces of steak, but still amazing.

First time at location since new name/ownership change, was previously Justin's Carriage House. Similar cozy atmosphere, great service as usual. Menu is very unique, a gourmet take on classic pub food, everything sounded delicious. Ordered the brisket pizza and swordfish skewer special and both came out great looking and better tasting, made me want to come back and try everything else on the menu. Great for a casual bite, would absolutely reccomended!

Stopped in on a whim w/mom. Love all the wood and good vibe. Just wanted a beer and wow what a beer menu - draft and bottles/cans. Nice little happy hour menu, too. The bartender, Rachel, is so friendly and attentive. Wish we'd have been hungry as the options sound delicious. Nice man when we were leaving let us know how to avoid stairs for next time because we'll be back for sure.

I stopped in for lunch one afternoon and found a hidden gem. Food was excellent, service was excellent, the decor very pleasing and relaxing. There is a full service bar both inside and outside. The outside bar has a heated patio, a beer garden and there also is a tented area on the back lawn. They have several inside rooms. Plenty of parking plenty of handicap parking the entrance is handicapped-accessible but not the bathrooms they are small and will not allow room for a wheelchair if necessary. What a great place for lunch dinner date private Gathering good selection of wine TVs in the inside bar and I believe there is TVs at the outside bar as well. I'm so glad they were able to survive all the restrictions of covid-19 and are up and running. definitely worth stopping in !

I have eaten there before and it was a great experience so my sister and I returned. The cocktail only had a few small melted pieces of ice so it appeared half full. We ordered 2 pierogi pizzas and those came out burnt black on the edges. They refunded one of those. I was so annoyed that I didn't want to argue over the second pizza that we were charged for and that was also burnt. If we return is still up in the air. I hope we just caught the bar and kitchen at a bad time.

First, I want to be clear that this review is not against the establishment itself but rather the obnoxious bartender that served us. This was our first time to the Stray Dog Tavern, and I was excited to patronize a place that rescues animals and mainly bully dogs. I never imagined the “bully” would be our bartender. My mom has Alzheimer’s, and she struggles with balance and walking, not to mention she is barely 5 feet tall. She needs a great deal of assistance getting up onto a barstool, but once she is there, she is happy, and she feels included. That is our goal as her family and to share as many happy times with her as we can while she is still able to join in these outings. The bartender who was working on Saturday, Feb 24, 2024, between 4:30-5:00 pm was horrendous. I'm guessing he was naive to what Alzheimer's looks like, and hopefully this was a learning experience for him. He was dismissive, rude, condescending, disrespectful and pathetic. His attitude towards us was despicable! We try new places every weekend to put a smile on my mom’s face and bring laughter to what is a very, very, difficult situation. We had intended to stay a while but had one drink and left to go elsewhere where the bartenders are friendly, respectful, and decent human beings. Again, I want to reiterate that this review is solely based on our experience with that bartender. The tavern had a great ambiance, and I would like to believe this could have been a good experience had their bartender had a shred of decency.

My wife and I enjoyed lunch here. She had a grilled reuben with a side salad with house balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The pastrami used in the reuben is purported to be home made. The pastrami was great but smelled smokier than it tasted. There was a generous serving on the sandwich. The salad and dressing was good too. We recommend this item.I had the fish tacos and can only award them a C+ . They were fine but not full of flavor. They consisted of three soft taco shells, each with a strip of deep fried fish and topped with a sweet Cole slaw like you might eat with BBQ. Mostly I tasted the slaw. Personally, I like a cilantro/jalapeno based slaw with this dish and I like the fish, if fried, to be seasoned and coated with Panko for crunchiness. I couldn't taste any seasoning on the fish. Nothing wrong with the preparation and the portion was quite adequate, just not worth more than a C+. I chose homemade bleu cheese dressing for my side salad. The dressing had plenty of flavor and I really enjoyed it.I had and Irish ale and my wife had a glass of wine. That's why our bill was over $50. It would have been around $34 otherwise. The Dog has a nice, old time atmosphere than made us both feel very comfortable. It's a good place for lunch.Dietary restrictions: Some GF dishes although they make it clear on the menu they are fried in the same fryer were flour-coated foods are fried. So . . .I did see one "modified vegan" dish, what ever that means.

Nice place for a quick bite and a drink (that's what we had). You must try baby back ribs (ho for the full rack, $3 extra is worth). Sauce is good. Not too sweet not too spicy. Staff is also friendly

Food is fair. Very loud. Wait staff rude. We had to request, salt and pepper, catsup multiple times. No refills on drinks, water. We were told no crackers for soup, the restaurant doesn't have them. Then asked if a piece of bread or roll was available and we were told," I can check, but you will be charged".Not accommodating for larger groups. I would like to think it was just a rough night, but a Monday early eve in January? This is the 2nd time we went there, same thing both times. We won't be back

Why is Rachel still employed? She stole money from us from writing in a FAKE tip. We called for weeks having to settle this matter. Ultimately they gave us cash. She is beyond terrible. Sits and eats food at the bar while your food gets cold from the back, you can’t order a drink from her to save your life and talks at the bar loudly with other employees how she hates her job and doesn’t make any tips. Odd coincidence after she fraudulently wrote in a tip on our credit card. FIRE her. She’s bad for business and is single handedly ruining your business HELLO OWNERS… she’s stealing!!!!!!!!!!!

We went here when they first opened. Food and service were great!! Today... Eh. We had Mac and cheese with bacon...gross, buttered noodles with bacon bits. Crab dip was, okay, no meat.Wild mushroom and truffle pizza was dough with a little bit of cheese and only a few wild mushrooms, the rest were button. I absolutely have no problem paying good money fir good food. This was not good food.

Best thing about The Stray Dog Tavern for me: flip over the menu and it says "Vegetarian" at the top of the page. Half of the menu is vegetarian options! The food is excellent.Vegetarian options: All of the vegetarian options I tried were excellent! 👍

We have been to stray dog a couple times now since the new owner took over the food has been good. They just open an outside patio. That is really nice if you’re looking for a place to relax on a Saturday afternoon they did a very nice job.
