I can’t say enough about how wonderful everyone was here. The care and compassion they had for us and our sweet dog, Buddy, as it was his time to cross the rainbow bridge. We genuinely felt like they really shared in our loss. When we received our sweet Buddy’s cremains less than a week later, I can only say, Beautiful! This is just a wonderful practice. We take our dog there every few months because he has a sensitive stomach and a history of bloat. They are always patient, understanding and kind. They are very transparent about prices, which I am grateful for. They also are always willing to answer the phone and assist with questions. I recommend them to everyone. I just wanted to thank the staff on duty 3-28-2024. I had an 11 year old Newfoundland with terminal bladder cancer. We had been keeping her happy and comfortable, but in the last few days her condition suddenly worsened. Lots of labored breathing and loss of appetite. Our regular vet told us to get her Maxon Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital and to do it ASAP as this could be the end.I first placed a call and spoke with a very friendly and sympathetic front-desk lady. Our conversation yielded the high probability of a euthanasia but she presented me with a complete list of options on what to expect from possible treatments/outcomes and all associated costs.I got my dog into the back of our vehicle and made the trip of around 35 minutes. When I arrived, even though she wasn't nearly this weak when we left, my dog wasn't moving much. I started to panic and thought maybe if I could help lift her gently down she might want to walk around a little. When I got her down she still wasn't moving though. I couldn't just leave her there on the parking lot so I called the office from my cell. Before anyone even picked up, 2 of the staff were already rushing out to help. They quickly picked up my dog and got her in to check vitals and administer emergency care. It was only a few minutes before they came back and told me she was gone.While it didn't go exactly how I was expecting, I was fully prepared I wouldn't be coming home with my dog. So I held composure pretty well. I was very moved by how compassionate the 4 employees were though. While I hope I never have to go there again, I just wanted to spread the word that your pet will be in good hands if you decide to take them to Mason Dixon for any care they may need. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

We just put my minpin down, due to an unexpected dog attack. Each and everyone of these staff members did everything they possibly could for her life. The doctors here are amazing. They just thought my Cali girl was the sweetest thing, she might have been a little sassy, but they all rooted for her. She was a priority because of her wounds and her severe condition. Even when they were busy they found a time to talk with me and explain everything. Even on the worst day, they made us feel very comfortable and accommodated us 100%. I recommend this animal Hospital to anyone in need of a good place to take their pet in need.

From the moment I walked in the staff was so kind and compassionate. Dr.Petro and Dr.Brewer were fantastic! Words can’t describe how grateful I am to everyone for taking such good care of my girl. When your pet is experiencing an emergency it is such a relief to know they are in good hands She was kept overnight and came home the next day thanks to this team! Things could have been so much worse, but they made sure to admit and treat her right away. I highly recommend them to anyone! THANK YOU MASON DIXON!! Y’all are amazing!

We've taken our ferret here several times at various hours. They have extremely nice waiting areas including tvs in the exam rooms and a great coffee bar and vending machine. Staff is always courteous and while there is often a wait, that's expected for a 24hr emergency facility. They're honest about wait times, triage all patients, and provide regular updates. Pricing is very reasonable for the service and care they provide. Would recommend!

Not Helpful. A few months ago , my 3 yr old Jack Russell developed a cough. As a first time pet parent, I was concerned. At the early hours of the morning, about 3 AM, her cough worsened and it was if she could not catch her breath. I called Mason Dixon, spoke to 2 different people, was put on hold for over 30 minutes, before ultimately getting hung up on. Very unpleasant experience. So much time wasted. Ended up taking my pup somewhere else. Thank goodness she’s was okay.

I was there tonight with my kitten Bowser for a neuter performed elsewhere gone wrong. Not only was the treatment expedient, but it was fairly priced. Everyone we dealt with was super friendly and caring.Thanks for the great experience. I can tell he's already feeling better.

I had to bring my puppy here when she started acting strange and yelping when we touched her neck. We called numerous places that weren't able to see us immediately. We had to drive almost 2 hours to get here, but it was well worth the trip. They were professional, friendly, and reasonably affordable. The process was open and transparent from triage to discharge. They even put us in a waiting room with a TV and had access to coffee. Thank you again for seeing our little Cocoa Bean on such short notice!

wow, I would trust this animal hospital with all my pets. They are so caring and loving to our babies. I have come here on 2 separate occasions.Otis:He was getting old and we knew it was time, we immediately called the animal hospital to let them know we were coming. They put us in a sperate room to say goodbye. Every single person in that building was caring about the situation, AMAZING.Sadie:she was having issues with her eye and we brought her right in. They wanted to keep her overnight and we got to see her before they preformed surgery. The doctor was very reassuring about all of the questions and concerns that we had.there care to our pets is amazing :)

All I can say is I am disgusted with this establishment. My dog was dying and you sent him home with acid reflux medication. We need more emergency vets in our area. I have always hated going to mason dixon for care.Replying to your response below Jenny.We can agree to disagree. His breathing was labored when I brought him in after hours of straining with diarrhea. My pants were soaked with drool from him panting when I walked in. He was in pain and should have had his pain managed. You wanted an anemia test for a dog that was obviously anemic. His gums were pale and he was having trouble breathing. THAT blood work was unnecessary. He was uncomfortable. You said he was stable and brought him back exhausted to pace around in your waiting room for another hour while we waited for probiotic packets and acid reflux medication. If there is a staffing issue perhaps two receptionists aren’t necessary and you can increase your budget to hire and fairly pay your techs. You are an owner of this business, correct? He should have stayed in care until we left the building. His labored breathing that you denied he had in your care continued until his euthanasia that afternoon. My dog suffered unnecessarily. He should have had something for pain and to relax his exhausted body at the very least.Have the year you deserve, Jenny.

The doctors and staff are very kind and helpful, providing very detailed updates about her condition and care as well as very helpful information regarding her post life care. Our Mollie had a rapid, unexpected decline in her health and we brought her to these strangers, as our vet was closed. Timing is everything, as they treated our girl and our family like family. We had to euthanize our girl and as awful as it was, they made this the best possible atmosphere and offered the deepest kindness and sincerity.

Monday evening Jan.29th 10:30 pm I arrived with my best buddy Scout. He was very ill and lethargic so they brought cart out and wheeled him inside to examine him. The receptionist was very kind and actually had same breed dog- lab/ mountain cur mix. Both rescued. Short while later Dr. Jenny Longbottom came into room to discuss Scout’s prognosis. I had 2 choices. Blood transfusion plus operation, plus a not so good outcome and we all know what option 2 was. I had to choose 2. She assured me he would not feel any pain, just go to sleep. It was nice that I got to kiss him goodbye. So nice to have a clinic open 24 hours for our pets. Thank you Jenny Longbottom and staff ! I am so thankful I had Scout for 9 years. He was my world and an amazing dog!!!!

This animal hospital was very kind and understanding when I had to put my cat down. They were patient when I needed to say goodbye and the veternarian talked me through the whole process. I was able to be with him the whole time and they gave me a clipping of his fur and his paw prints before I left. They helped me with understanding finances and allowed me to visit with him after he passed. They were very gentle with him and gave him love as well. The paw prints they gave me were very nice. I was expecting an ink print on cardstock(like my dogs had gotten) but these prints were in foam and had a case that came with it. I hope i don't have to come back here with my pets but I would come back here in a heart beat. They saw him immediately and the overall time of the procedure wasn't that long. But they let me stay with him until I wanted to leave. Thank you for all the kind souls that work there. I know your job is hard to do but you guys made the process a little bit easier.

This hospital is the most understanding hospital I have ever been too. My puppy was lethargic and throwing up, they took her right in to help her. They took into account that money is tight and times are rough, they helped us more than I could have ever imagined. I am so appreciate and thankful for the staff and especially Dr. Longbottom. I thought I was losing my baby and they brought a happy puppy back to me. I could never repay y’all for that. Thank you so much.

Mason Dixon Animal Emergency is , hands down , wonderful . My son and I just had our extremely sick 11 yr old kitty euthanized there late last night .The staff at Mason Dixon showed so much compassion and care . They gently treated our kitty with the dignity and respect that she deserved .We are so grateful and highly recommend Mason Dixon Animal Emergency

The staff and veterinarians at the Mason Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital are great. I brought my cat in after finding her paralyzed from the waist down. The vet technicians came out immediately and took her for evaluation. The veterinarian treating her was very communicative and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, Olive’s diagnosis was fatal and I had to choose to let her go peacefully. The staff was very compassionate and allowed for time to say goodbye and made everything just a little bit easier. Their services are also more affordable than some other local emergency vets. As much as I hope not to need their services in the future, I recommend them if you are in need!

I can't say enough about the team at Mason Dixon. Caring, compassionate and understanding and above all else knowledgeable. Our dogs were hit by a car, and while we sadly lost one on impact, the other was in critical condition. While we didn't start with Mason Dixon. We did end up there and I can't say enough how much they helped her and us. Thank you to everyone there for helping Roxy.

The were great to both me and my cat during my ER visit. The doctors really care about their patients and it shows. My little man spent 2 days in the ER and is now home resting comfortably because of their caring and compassion.

Our experience here was amazing considering it’s a pet ER and no one goes to the pet ER for fun. We came in on a Sunday evening and they were very busy, but they took our girl, Blondie right back. They DID explain the wait time and how it worked and they kept us updated on how she was doing throughout our wait. When we saw the doctor, she was kind and compassionate, she explained what was going on, the prognosis, and what our options were and then she answered the million and one questions I had.I walked in that night knowing in my heart my baby was probably not coming home, she was old and had her share of medical conditions, but on this day it appeared she had a stroke, followed by a seizure after we arrived at the hospital and the prognosis was grim. Out of our love for her we made the decision to let her go. The doctor and staff were so patient and understanding. They told us exactly how the procedure worked and let us have as much time as we needed with her. I left there heartbroken, but at peace knowing my baby wasn’t suffering and that in her last moments she was with me and people who are kind and loving.Thank you all so much. We are truly grateful for everything you did for us.

I would highly recommend Mason Dixon for emergencies. After being turned away from 2 other hospitals after my cat had a vaccine reaction, I called MD and they had me come right in. They took my kitty back and helped her right away. The staff was wonderful - calm, kind, and patient. The doctor took plenty of time to talk to me and answer all of my questions. My sweet kitty is back to her sweet and playful self and I’m so grateful! Thank you!

7-15-2023 | Dr. Longbottom thanks for admitting that you did not work with Bentley personally, and please be mindful that these were my observations from being there with our dog, and unfortunately placing our trust in your team specially Dr. Lauren Kiebler whom did not for one second conveyed her recommendation was to explore our dog, because I can assure you she would have never gotten an ok from us to proceed, it is evident she has little to no experience whatsoever, and you should simply admit that fact, another one of your doctors knew the prediagnosis, but somehow didn’t act on her knowledge? - our nearly $8,000 bill only made our dog way worse than day one. Rather than getting defensive about failing our dog with your poor advise, perhaps you should consider this as a learning experience, so that other peoples dogs & pets can be saved.We are open to getting a refund & you have our information on file if you want to make things right & give us our money back.Original Review •If we could do things all over again my first choice will be to take our dog to Patton Veterinary in Red Lion, PA close to MD Line as they are knowledgeable and attempt to treat the symptom before milking you out of thousands of dollars for your pet to come home in way worse shape than you took him in to begin with, they are very straightforward, as opposed to dealing with this hospital whose Vet got free surgery practice at the expense of my beloved dog. Thanks to the guidance of Dr. Lauren Kiebler whom not only hadX-rays results, and also an ultrasound report called us & made it sound like she could see a linear blockage in our dog’s intestines, and waiting for the next day when the other Dr. that was reporting to me the that same day during her shift that our dog could most likely be treated with medications was just prolonging what we had to do anyways, we listened to her advise just for her to call us back 20 minutes later to say she found nothing and this will be an exploratory surgery, and we knew this was a possibility that we agreed to, she failed to make this disclaimer clear before selling us on an unnecessary surgery. The only thing she did say is that there was abnormal tissues with his intestines that she could biopsy, which at point she her our dog cut open so might as well (this was a Wednesday). However in the meantime the other Dr. that seemed more experienced told me that she believed it was lymphoma before the actual results came available(on Friday). Our dog was a boxer, a breed more prone to this type of cancer, We didn’t need to put our dog through an exploratory surgery to know he was probably going to develop cancer. Our dog came home in way worse shape than he was when we took him in, and was never the same after the unnecessary surgery. I strongly believe this surgery awoke & expedited the cancer, as well as our 4yrs & 1/2 dog’s decline, because treating him for cancer would have been another viable option, I mean they sent us home with 5 different treatments hoping that 1 of those treatments would be whatever was wrong with him, what was prescribing steroids at that point..oh maybe the fact that they could make more money out of us? - their best advise, was for us to seek help elsewhere. I will never use this place ever again, and I hope you consider other options before, while, and after using this place.

We really can’t say enough about this place! We knew we were in a bad situation with our dog and had to make the tough decision to have her put down. They took great care of her and made sure she was comfortable. They we’re so kind and caring and made sure we were with her the entire time. They handled everything for us! Brought my cat here because of a potential blockage after all the other hospitals told me they were too busy. He was seen too as soon as we walked in. The communication was excellent and everyone was very kind and understanding. My cat seemed very relaxed when we picked him up, which was nice to see since he's usually stressed at the vet. I will come here again with any other emergencies. This was by far one of my best emergency vet visit experiences.

First let me say I will apologize to to your staff for my comments I'm sure they all have hearts and care and want to do what's best but are essentially held back by policies and procedures that in my opinion needs changed. No one expects to have financial hardships or for there pets to become critically sick. The price of your services wasn't the problem doc it was getting those funds at a moment's notice. Most people just can't pull thousands of dollars out of there wallets, they need time to get those funds time dale didn't have unfortunately and by the time I found a facility that was willing to work with a payment system dale had already passed before I could take him. You question why I waited doc but you tell me what I should have done then when the first place I turned to was your facility. You asked me never to return well I can promise you that.

This is one of the best vets/ER we hav been to. I called over the phone and said some of my dogs symptoms and they suggested I come in ASAP. They triaged her right away and she was diagnosed within an hour. They gave her treatment right away and provided the best care possible for her. They had lots of other pets there and were still very professional, compassionate and timely towards us and our dog. One of the vets, Heidi, was amazing at her job and could relate to us and provide support that most vets will not do. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with incurable cancer but they provided us with options to make her comfortable until her time comes. If it wasn't for them doing the proper tests we may have never known. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs ER visit or even just making sure that they're pet is okay. Thank you to all the staff who helped us!

I called the night before, and let them know I was coming in for a possible obstruction. I called them an hour before to let them know I was on my way. It was 4:30a.m. when I arrived with my sick kitty and it was nearly four hours until he received an exame. He only received the same treatment he had at my vet, who referred us to them for surgery. Six hours later we left with no new answers and twice the cost of treatment from my local vet.

I had been referred to this hospital when our dog was showing signs of a serious illness. When I arrived with my pet, they took him inside right away and assessed him rapidly. They quickly and accurately made the diagnosis and began treatment as soon as possible. He was so ill that he had to stay several nights in the hospital and during that time my wife and I received updates about his care and clinical status multiple times daily from the veterinarians taking care of him. The veterinarians at Mason Dixon Animal Hospital are very knowledgeable, caring, and professional. In addition to that, the other staff members taking care of our pet would contact us multiple times throughout the day as well to let us know how he is doing and send us pictures of him via email since we were unable to visit him due to COVID restrictions. Everyone there took excellent care of my dog and made my wife and I feel as comfortable as possible especially given the situation. Patty and Faith both took a shine to our pup and treated him as if he were a member of their families. They were always available to answer our questions and ease our minds while our dog was in the hospital. Our dog was eventually discharged from the hospital and has been on the road to recovery every since. He would not be with us today if it wasn't for the amazing care provided at the Mason Dixon Animal Hospital. I would highly recommend this institution to anyone with a pet who has a medical emergency. I am so grateful for everything that they have done for our family and the furriest member thereof.
