Really thankful that despite being full they took in a dog that we found. He had wandered up on our porch a week ago and we were desperately trying to find him a place to stay since we have our own animals to care for already. Luckily they took him in and I really hope he finds a good home. If anyone is interested I think they are going to call him Bruce :)

I’ve tried calling multiple times on multiple occasions looking for information on pets for adoption and never got an answer. Even left messages with no response. For a place trying to find homes for pets you’d think they would answer the phone during the 4 hours they are open.

At one of the adoption fairs at Weis, a few years ago I got my dog Rocky. The staff there were really nice and welcoming to all the family's. Rocky was very well trained while there. Planing on coming to hang out with the dogs to show my appreciation.

Humane Society of Pike County is a blessing, in that they are so generous as to team with T.A.R.A. (The Animal Rights Alliance) of Middletown, NY, to bring sorely needed Low-Cost Spay & Neuter services to the communities of NEPA. Thank you for all that you do!

These people are a monopoly! They some how get dogs and cats that already have homes just pick/ steal them from our yards Ect. and then turn around and sell them!!!If you have a dog 🐶 or a cat that suddenly diapers and you contact them in hopes that they found your pet!!! Know that they'll NOT tell you!!They took our cats just for being out side had to fight to get them back!! they get paid additional money for each animal that they pick up no matter who it belongs to.... they're a BIG Business!! Imagine getting 300-$500 per each dog and then again from the county ,in addition to the yearly income that they get from the allocated founds from tax payer found set aside for 'this Big Business! ...And the state alow this practice as a Non profits org.They should All be sued!!

I'm attempting to get in touch to learn about becoming a volunteer at this shelter for the animals. I've called numerous times, never once have I spoken with someone. The website doesn't tell me how to become a volunteer. All I want to do is help the animals. Can someone get in touch with me?

My family had adopted two dogs from them, and they were very welcoming, and they had neutered, microchipped, and had dental work done on the dogs included in the adoption fee. They had also given us the option of taking them home before all the work was done or after. They had even called a couple of times to check in on the dogs to see how they were doing. You can really tell that all the workers are there because they love the animals. They had us meet the dogs a couple of times before we took them home too.

We adopted our beloved Daisy from here over 3 yrs ago. Was looking for another puppy, but at the time they didn't have any. It is a wonderful rural shelter with lots of outdoor space fenced in for dogs to get outside and roam! Highly recommend!

Extremely understanding and well organized. This facility could really use more local support and advertisement. There are very very good animals that need homes whether temporary or permanent. Donations I am sure would be welcome aswell

An alright establishment. Many of the workers are nice, however during my time volunteering there in high school, there were many unwanted political arguments and false reports made out of spite. I won't name names, but some women there tried spreading rumors about me saying that I was complaining about my job or being discourteous. Some would put me in charge of cleaning the cat room by myself and spend time gossiping and then become angered after finding that I didn't completely clean the room in the same time that it would take three people to clean it. Two women even tried to lie to me that they had changed the time that volunteers could come because there wasn't enough work in order to discourage me from coming (there was plenty of work to be done). It's unfortunate that this is the case, as I wanted to volunteer for the animals, but some of the staff there made it an unbearable environment. I had donated a lot of expensive medicine and 100+ volunteer hours and it's sad that I had to stop because of rude employees. I'd still like to think that my time there was positive, though, because of the animals and few polite workers.

Very friendly staff. Very helpful with a difficult emotional surrender of a beautiful cat "JJ" due to the passing of my grandmother. Wish I could have kept him, or found a loving home for him. But feel better knowing that they will. Thank you Heather for all your help and hug!

Came to drop my cat off for the TARA shuttle, have not been here until a few years , the road in seems to be better maintained, and the staff is wonderful!

Very caring and empathic to customers needs. I had to put down my 16 year old American Staff Gandhi. He was tough and fought the medication so took more time. Even though there were others waiting they never made me feel rushed. I had the privilege of being with my beautiful boy until the very end.

I loved this shelter at one time...only one person I didn't like...it is the best thing for these animals...what I see on social media about you all seems to be a great shelter oce again...I am willing to help out for a few hours a week...

I have never seen a more Caring animal shelter before they really truly love the animals they are taking care of and when you leave there they give you a great harness the leash and anything else the dog could possibly want also the manager Heather who happened to not live far from us we were having a problem with getting him to eat she had no problem stopping by and feeding him to help him now he's been eating ever since I 100% recommend the shelter to anybody who wants a good dog a good family dog Dex has the most amazing dog we have ever had to thank you so much pchs we love you and definitely will adopt again from you

Road to get here is horrible, will tear up up vehicle. Not many animals at all. You have to wait to get someone to help you and scream to get their attention. Even when at least 3 workers see you they just will make you wait there unless you yell to get their attention. Poop all over the floor not very clean at all. Very disappointing.......... Sad

These people don't know tractor supplies has shot called a vet told them are cat didn't have shot . so we couldn't a adopted a dog. Ps the cat was in mom name. Go a had found a dog the next day. Didn't have to pay.my friend is a vet tack she will do it.when are their to see shots.

I love this shelter. It is always clean, smelling fresh, animals walk around freely and everybody (animals and workers) look happy.
