Employees are very loving towards animals at facility. However adoption process takes very long. When trying to adopt I went an entire month without hearing back from anyone at shelter.I was continuously told that all employees there were volunteers. I then came to know that employees are paid over minimum wage to work at this facility. It seems employees are more interested in simply spending time with the animals instead of getting them into loving homes.

We have adopted two dogs from Tri County and have had wonderful experiences with both adoptions. The staff love the dogs and cats in their care. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to adopt a furever pet. They are very thorough to make sure their dogs and cats get adopted by genuine loving careing people. Thank you Wendy for helping us adopt Chinook 9 years ago and Bini last month..

Very disappointed in this shelter. Adopted a kitten mid October of this year.. he died from FIV only 2 months after adopting him. These tests should have been done before putting him up for adoption. Our heats are broken. We had an appointment scheduled with our vet for January. They told us his shots were up-to-date.FIV is very contagious so anyone that has adopted a cat from them in that time frame needs to get them tested as they are all in the same room together at the shelter

After several disappointing months, I found a four-legged friend at Tri-County Animal Shelter. The people were great from beginning to the moment we walked out with Lakota. He's a lovable, docile fellow who thinks he's a lap dog. This is possibly the best shelter in this part of PA.

Parents set up an appointment to see a beautiful female Labrador mix named Suga who was very friendly and quite playful. At 3 years old she was well trained. This place has a wonderful facility for animals to re-home. With puppies, kittens and cats, they look for homes with nurturing owners. Awesome place. Will be back again!

Went here for a yard sale that was helping the animals and met some of the sweet puppers they are taking care of. Very nice people! And dogs!

Im incredibly disappointed with this shelter. Would have given 1 star but the volunteer who worked with us was very lovely. We put in an application for an older dog, went through the whole process initial interview, reference checks and was told we were the only application and there was no reason based off our interviews for them to deny our application. We were told everything should be finalized in a few days. Several days go by and we get a phone call that the director has decided to give the dog to someone they know. Adopting an animal is not something we take lightly, we did a lot of research and found the right dog for myself and my husband. We didn’t even get a chance to meet the dog even though we emailed and left voicemails with the shelter that we wanted to make an appointment to meet the dog. We are incredibly saddened by this situation and hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else

Unfortunately, my sister and I had to take our other sister's 2 loveable cats here. Our sister had just passed away last month and we were unsuccessful finding homes for them. The staff here were caring and sensitive to our situation and welcomed the cats with open arms. We will be forever grateful. Hopefully, the cats will find wonderful, new homes.

After being approved and visiting with our prospective new furbaby a couple times, we were informed that she was adopted out to another family. We were treated unfairly and had our hopes up only to have them crushed.

These are caring, wonderful people. They do a wonderful job with the animals there. When we visited they had a group of older kids there who were volunteering with socializing animals. We support them with money and supplies. A small but great place!

This is the place where I will adopt my next dog from. They were having a fund raiser out side that involved a "sale" to raise money for the animals. Please help support their efforts at any time. We will be back to visit this Rescue Center and to help. Appreciate all of your hard work and Effort into helping all of the Animals!

We waited over a week after our application was placed and a week after seeing a dog before this shelter decided to identify the dog as not going to a home with kids. Our selection of a dog was intense and there was nothing wrong during our visit with this dog. The problem is a people problem, those in authority, who need a true reality check. It is situations like this that cause people to go to puppy Mills and stay away from shelters or lie because dealing with shelters entales dealing with crazy people. The dog still is not identified on the web site as needing to be in a home that is child free.

I stopped in the other weekend just to see the pets and I enjoyed meeting all the pets. The caretakers were all so involved with the cats and dogs and the love and respect was so beautiful to feel . Tri county animal rescue is a rescue with a heart.

Dogs are not taken to the vet when needed. A dog was dropped off at the shelter at approximately 3pm that was found laying in the middle of the road and couldn't walk. It didn't get taken to the vet until the following morning. It was put down because it's injuries were to severe. It suffered all night.
