Ordered pulled pork sandwich, beans, mac and cheese. Boys ordered a cheesbuger sub to share and fresh cut fries...I serously could not pick up my sandwich to eat it the bottom roll was so soaked and mushy. Large portion of pulled pork that was bland and very salty. Beans and mac and cheese were ok but again bland and tasted out of a can or stouffers mac and cheese as someone else stated. The sub was very large and my boys said it was ok. The fresh cut fries are the best thing going here and although i like salt, they also were served very salty. I got the tangy bbq sauce for my sandwich which honestly looked like caramel sauce when it came out and was really bad. Sorry, i had high hopes. Been striking out getting a good bbq place lately. Staff and atmosphere are fine, food needs some work.

I had high hopes for some good bbq, but my husband and I were both disappointed. I ordered the 1/2 chicken, which was tender, similar to a firehouse bbq chicken. I also ordered a picture of pulled pork. I've included a picture of the fat that I had to pull out of my container. It cost $8.99 for the pint and 1/3 of the pint was gristle and fat. My husband ordered beef Brisket. It came out in a liquid that could have been broth or water. He said the meat was very tough and he couldn't chew it. We both ordered the baked mac and cheese, assuming it was homemade. It was like Stouffer's. I hate being so negative, but we didn't like the bbq sauces either. The smokey tasted like ketchup with no smoke flavor. Our server did an excellent job 👏

Went with my family and the waitress only came when our food was delivered. Never returned after that. Never even got our check, I had to go to the register and tell them what we ordered to pay. The cheesesteak sub tasted like Steak Ems from the grocery store. The food was salted so much that none of us finished it. Although the atmosphere was cool it does not make any sense to return.

The wife and I walked in and there was an older gentleman playing blues on the stage. Live music bonus points. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, told us about all the things they do and upcoming events. The menu is not very big. The wife ordered the sampler platter and I had the beef brisket sandwich. Portion sizes are enormous. So big in fact it seems they try to make up for the lack of flavor. It seems like the meats weren't seasoned enough. They have their own BBQ sauces. Apple butter bbq wins. They also have their own distillery and they make their own corn whiskey, rye whiskey and vodka. Overall it's definitely worth a visit.

Some of the best ding dang BBQ I've ever ever had. Staff and owner are amazing people too! We live in Baltimore and drive all the way to Pennsylvania to get this perfect BBQ. But, I'm from the South so I do know good BBQ and this fits the bill. 💜 Portions are awesome, sauces are great, brisket is cooked slow and long, we even got a vegetarian who occasionally eats meat to try the chicken and he was blown away. Don't skip the ice cream/shakes either!

I will go back, but nothing stood out as great or bad. It tasted and felt like a good backyard Bbq. Though I've never ate here before, everything tasted familiar. I got the sampler and no complaints.

We stopped in Friday night for the first time to hook up with some friends outside. We waited 15 min to get waited on for drinks. We ordered the sampler for $24.99 to share with 2 sides. The portions were a nice size put wasn't impressed with the ribs. Ribs were bland and the pulled pork was very fatty. Very disappointed because we always heard about the place.

Delicious food in abundance, quality service, good price. Our wedding was catered by Grandpa's. We got the ultimate party pack. The slow-roasted pork and BBQ pulled chicken was fall-apart-tender, and we got sauerkraut to go with it. This kind of food is good for catering because it gets better the longer you cook it. You can get as many kinds of BBQ sauce as you want. My personal favorite was the apple one. The mac and cheese and mashed potatoes had a slightly smoky flavor to them that went really well with the meats. Their antipasto and bruschetta appetizers were quite good as well. In the end, they packaged us up a bunch of food to go --- we had a lot of amazing leftovers. That day it was raining and we were under a park pavilion. Grandpa's set up no problem. They had a tent to put over their buffet table, and their truck set-up was also covered. It looked like a fair when you went down to the pavilion with the tent and the truck. Everyone was courteous, professional, and flexible. They arrived with plenty of time to set up, were able to start dinner service a little earlier than expected, and the bartender was a delight. They also cut our wedding cake so we didn't have to worry about that part. We got their homemade ice cream to go with it, which they make using a John Deere tractor. It actually is really fun to watch, and the ice cream tastes good.Overall I would highly recommend Grandpa's.

Been hearing about this place for quite some time so decided to stop for lunch on a cool winter's day. I ordered a cheese steak and fries. The menu doesn't mention how big the sandwich is. It was a 16 inch roll with a very generous portion of steak and cheese. Perfectly seasoned and the steak was juicy. Got about a 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound of fries. Ate half the sandwich and will have the other half for dinner tonight. Friendly staff, good service and a cook who takes time to leave the kitchen and ask if everything was ok. Going back for a weekend special when they have something I like.

Very reasonable prices. Waitress very friendly. Generous amounts of food for the price. You will be taking some home. The BBQ sampler is plenty enough for two people. We ordered the BBQ sampler with two sides and we each had a mug of soda. The sampler consisted of a half of chicken, about five slices of ham about the size of your hand, a generous portion of beef brisket, and a pile of pulled pork. We got an extra portion of the beef brisket (at no extra charge) because at the time we were there the ribs were not ready at the time. You get three small cups of different BBQ sauces. We also ordered a large bowl of french fries. We couldn’t finish it all and ended up take leftovers home. The bill came to just over $30. So basically it cost us each just $15 for a meal that filled us up for the rest of the day. And be warned…if you order one their subs, you better be hungry. They are huge.

We went here for the first time with friends who have visited the restaurant before. There was live music when we went but they did a great job of controlling the volume so you could still talk. Our waitresses were so friendly and super quick to help us. The chef came out to ask about our food and was very friendly as well. The food was great and there was a lot of it for the price. Overall a great experience and we'll be back again.

We ventured over the mountain to experience The Bower Garden and had read reviews about this hidden gem in advance, so we decided to stop for lunch after finishing at the garden. The reviewers were not wrong!First, outdoor seating which is still important to us with small children and older adults with compromised immune systems.2. Super friendly and attentive staff. My son has difficulties waiting and sitting still, and even after accidentally popping the waitress in the head with his toy, they were still professional and even kind. They even had ceiling fans for the picnic tables outside AND cleaned them after each patron left. Service was quick and our drinks were never empty.3. Food was reasonably priced and plentiful. My sub was HUGE! So was the bowl of french fries! Needless to say we had leftovers. Milkshakes were also tasty and I loved the frosty mugs of root beer. My kids loved the mac and cheese. This is not where you go for fine dining but it was one of the best overall experiences I've had in a long time. Our chef even came out to make sure we were happy with the food. A++I'd love to check out the entertainment they apparently have on weekends with a cute stage inside my daughter hopped on for a little dance 💃 It's also BYOB which is always a nice find. Overall, I would recommend, and definitely make the trip to visit them again.Kid-friendliness: Extremely kind and understanding of little ones. Our waitress was an angel with my kiddos. My kids are very very picky and they loved the fries, milkshakes, and mac n cheese!

Had never been to Shermansdale before, but went to see a new singing sensation Beauty for Ashes. Decided to have a bite to eat and was astounded by the quality all around of this small, quaint restaurant. The staff was excellent. Watching them work in unison to take care of their guests was outstanding. The food was excellent. The best beef brisket Ive had since leaving NYC.A must visit and worth going out of your way for at this hidden gem.
