When my primary veterinarian closed, I was scrambling to figure out which veterinarian would be a good option for my one Boxer who is timid and the other who is not a fan of strange dogs. Dr. Collyer's office is off the beaten path. It is quiet. The staff are absolutely wonderful and Dr. Collyer, she is phenomenal. Her attention to detail, her care for your pet, her dedication and devotion is hands down the best I have ever had. I was fortunate she was willing to accept my kids as patients and just feel blessed to have her!

Dr Collyer is absolutely fantastic! I discovered her by word of mouth and I am so glad I did. I have a senior cat, TUX, and she saved his life when he had a urinary blockage. My dog Max was also treated here when she was out on vacation and her replacement was great! The most compassionate vet and so appreciative of the follow up calls! The best!!

Very thorough physician and staff! Friendly and personable! Very clean and the appointment availability is spot on! I just adopted 2 kittens and Dr.Collyer was very thorough not only with the kitties but with me as well, explained things, showed me how to clip their nails, etc. I was 110% satisfied and I will share my feedback with everyone I know!

Love Dr Collyer and all the staff, Digger had to have 4 teeth pulled and a cleaning, they did a great job, showed me the xrays and thoroughly explained everything, called the next day to check on him, the follow up visit was when Dr Collyer was on vacation, but really appreciated that she had another vet fill in for her and he was wonderful as well

I recently established my two dogs to Dr. Collyer this week. First, the appointment availability was so convenient. Not to mention this clinic is so close to my house, so even more convenient! On the day of the appt, the wait time was minimal. The tech was so nice and knowledgeable. When Dr. Collyer walked into the room, she greeted both of my dogs with joy and made the effort to talk to me too, which is so nice! She cared for my dogs like they were hers. In depth exam too. We had bloodwork done on my one dog. Tonight, i decided to message the clinic and see if results were back. I didn’t expect a reply until next week. She replied to my email within 10 minutes (this is after hours, and a holiday weekend!!) and she explained everything! She even attached the pdf of his results. I will recommend Dr. Collyer and her staff to everyone i know. Great job!

Dr Petra Collyer has owned & run this vet practice since Jan 2023 (after Dr Hartung retired). She helped some of our cats when she did some temporary vet work in 2021 in Homer City. We were impressed with Dr Petra then bc she is such an excellent diagnostician. Now that she is settled in her own practice, we are switching our dozen pets over to Dr Petra. She saw 11yr old Gwen-Cat recently & handled her beautifully. Dr Petra negotiated with an outside lab for a very reasonable price on a battery of age-related lab tests. A few days later, Dr Petra emailed us 4-page lab test results PLUS she personally composed & emailed "English" explanations of those results. So, we now have better info for Gwen-Cat's care in her elder years. WE ARE SO VERY PLEASED & IMPRESSED WITH DR PETRA COLLYER. (And her very pleasant staff - so far, we met Karen & Sarah.) Thank you!

We have recently moved to PA from AL, and hadn't found a regular vet when we were faced with having to euthanize my 20 yr old chihuahua. Everyone in the office was so kind and compassionate before and during our loss. The whole experience was as beautifully peaceful as I always hoped it would be. They allowed me all the time I needed, and he was in my arms the entire time except when they had to weigh him. I cannot express how thankful I am for everyone in the office.I can confidently say I have found my new vet care team for my other 2 furkiddos. I will definitely be recommending Keystone to everyone I know.

This is the best doctor we have taken our only dog to. We will never go anywhere else. They email and u can call with questions at anytime with no problem. They are very reasonably priced we have been to a few places here and in Pittsburgh and this is by far the most caring and attentive place. I can't say enuf good things. Will recommend to anyone.

I have used their services twice. Once for a general checkup. And the second time for their kennel services. Both times treated with respect dignity and professionalism. I would recommend this place to any and all of my friends and family.

Great small vet office, friendly staff. New owner Dr. Petra Collyer is a great person and makes sure patients and their owners leave with full and complete care. Dr. Collyer is the recent new owner, as previous DVM Gerald Hartung has retired.

I went to Keystone vet for 16 years. I don’t know what changed in that time, but the last time I was there was a nightmare. My dog is horrified of vets, and gets nippy when they touch her feet. So, knowing that my dog was horrified, the vet smacked her nose when she nipped him. She was yelping and crying and trying to get away. I was too stunned to speak. We never went back.

Keystone Veterinary Services is a down to earth, professional vet who cares about your animals, about you, and also does not try to drain you dry with fees. They have been accommodating to me in emergency situations, and have been great for regular visits.

I took my dog there because he was losing weight, throwing up, and didn't want to eat much of anything. The vet took a listen, never took blood work, just sent me home with worming meds and a new diet. I did suggest Lymes disease, but was told the symptoms don't usually present as G.I. problems. The next week I rushed him back because he was getting worse, and wouldn't eat anything. The vet then looked at him and said, I don't know, his symptoms aren't making sense. After he threw up on his table, the vet then drew blood. The next day I had a message from Dr. Hartung saying he had Lymes disease, and it looked like it was effecting his kidneys, so I picked up antibiotics and anti-emetics, and was told it should only take a few days for him to bounce back. A week later (this past week) I took him to the Kittanning Vets Hospital, where they had his records faxed and looked at him. After only looking at the labs that Dr. Hartung had taken the previous week, they told me his kidneys had been damaged, and that he had probably already lost about 70% of his kidney function. His outlook wasn't good, and they started him on an IV right away and tried to lower his phosphorus levels which were off the charts, and his labs were all too high. After Kittanning Hospital trying their absolute best and giving him lots of love and care for three days, he had gotten worse, and we had to have him put to sleep so he would no longer suffer.I don't know if getting him the correct treatment a week or maybe even two would have helped us save or maybe just prolong my dog, Ruffy's life, but it would have been nice if he would have told me how bad his labs were and that he needed immediate attention. He should have drawn blood the first week when he had seen how much weight he had lost.Price wise: I spent close to $400 on his two visits and meds at Keystone Vets.At Kittanning Animal Hospital, I spent the same, and he was hospitalized for 3 days, had IV's and meds, and had him put to sleep, plus the visit when I had him admitted. Dr. Allaman and the other staff were great, and if I could go back in time, I would not have taken him anywhere other than Kittanning Animal Hospital. In fact, I would have taken him anywhere else.

If I could give this place a negative star I would! I called today to inquire about mobile veterinary services after they told me they do not offer that l, I asked if they knew anyone who did and she said no. I thanked her and she slammed the phone down. I wouldn’t let these people treat a hamster!
