We stayed in the Hillside cabin for a couple of nights this past week. It was very cute and just the right size for us, a retired couple, but would have easily accomodated a small family or two couples. It was spotless when we went in. I really appreciated the fact that after a long drive, I didn't have to clean or wipe down anything!!! Plenty of hot water, a nice little TV with cable, and the internet access made it just perfect!! We loved it and the campground is beautiful. The campsites seemed to be spaced nicely and the fact that it is directly connected to the Allegheny National Forest with a trail head right there was a plus for us.

Whispering winds is such a wonderful campground. We make it a yearly thing for our family to come every summer to stay here. We love to stay in the deerlick cabin for our family. Also the owners are the best. We love how they have fun activities to do throughout the summer. I highly recommend staying here!

We rented the Deerlick Cabin for Memorial Day weekend. The hosts and other campers were friendly and courteous. There were activities available like a Rubber Duck Regatta or Cornhole tournament for the holiday weekend. The pool was clean and warm.Great hikes were within 45 minutes or less. The cabin had hear/AC which was really helpful as we took our newborn with us. They allow well behaved dogs for a small fee, and we took our dog as well. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We will be back !

My favorite part of this campground was the small creek running through the middle. It wasn't too small and wasn't too large/powerful either. It had the rippling/babbling effect that made us want to keep our windows open the entire weekend. The inner roads were easily navigable and clean. Ownership lives on the property and is always around for questions/help. There are many different types of sites. We were in a full service (30A, H20, Sewage) site that was long enough for our 39' TT but just barely too short for the truck (parked slightly sideways in front to fit). I parked under a tree and had a ton of gypsy moth caterpillars on the roof (one even managed his/her way into the TT at one point) but it wasn't a big deal. Fire rings and picnic tables were provided on a mostly level gravel spot (Used one Lynx Leveler under each tire on one side of the TT to level 100%). Water pressure was perfect, cable TV worked well, WiFi was 'ok' but it's free so I can't complain. The pool and playground were clean and safe and the game room had a few video games and air hockey/pool table that worked well. The ONLY negatives I found (and they honestly may not be a big deal for others) were the closeness in proximity to the neighbor (see my one photo of their tent literally inches from our one slideout). I probably could have pulled the TT over more the other way but we didn't know they'd set up that close...and they can because it's their site. It was just a little off putting to know that we would be on our couch/kitchen table and if we opened the window, could have high-fived them at any given moment. I'm just glad they weren't loud/obnoxious. The other slight negatives were the sewage outlet and hose bib. I had to take my flexible hose extension off and connect the filter directly to it as the flex hose seals broke due to the angle at which it was affixed. Not a huge deal...I should've done that from the get-go. The sewage pipe was clean and looked newer but it was angled upwards a little high and at a 45 degree angle...which made my 90 degree elbow attachment a little awkward, but with some rocks and a little maneuvering, it all came out the same in the end (no pun intended). I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone (families/couples/single travelers alike). We camped at Whispering Winds Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A group of friends and I got a spot for the weekend in the tent spot in the back of the site, we're local and wanted somewhere we could all relax and play dungeons and dragons and swim. Great service, the owners were awesome with helping us in the game room where theres a pool table, air hokey, an arcade cabnet, a old school puck bowling, and a pinball machine. Everything was clean and calm and quiet even with as many people around as there was. Will be going back for another stay.

Centrally located to see all the sites of ANF.Highly recommend.

We went 6 years ago and came back recently. This is the definition of a family friendly campground that is low key and quiet. I love this place and look forward to coming back again. The owners are such wonderful, kind family pleasant people.

My wife and I stayed here this past week for 6 nights. Of all the campgrounds my wife and I have stayed at in the past, this was by far one of our favorite campgrounds. Wayne and Ann, along with their evening helper, have done an extremely nice job with this campground. Situated in a small valley in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest, there is no other way to experience this National Park. Super clean and very well laid out. RV sites were very spacious, cable TV connections, picnic table and its own fire ring. Firewood sold on site, and at an extremely reasonable price. Best of all, the owners will deliver your firewood to your campsite. From what I could tell, almost all of the FH sites were situated along a mature, mountain fed stream. There is no better way to go to sleep, or wake up, than having the sounds of a running stream constantly in the background.Since we were not tent camping, we did not check out the onsite bathrooms, but I am sure if they are kept in the same manor as everything else is, they were super clean. Laundry facilities were neat, well kept, and had reasonable prices.Had a very nice playground for the kids, a well maintained swimming pool, and a newly renovated shelter.Location wise, this campground is centrally situated to the Kinzua Dam/Allegheny Reservoir (Warren, PA), Kinzua Bridge State Park (Kane, PA), as well as a hidden gem called Hearts Content Recreation Area (Sheffield, PA). If you've ever wanted to feel like you are walking through a fairy tail, magical land, then Hearts Content Recreation Area is the place to go. My wife and I called it the Redwood Forest of the East.My only suggestion would be to incorporate a "Dog Run" of some sort to allow the transient campers a chance to let their pets off of a leash to run a bit.We wish Wayne and Ann all the best in the future, and if we are ever back up in the Allegheny's, we will most certainly stay here.

I've been here at this campground now for 3 months and I've read the reviews and I can tell you based on mine and my parents experience here This is a exceptionally great campground to stay at. We are living here in our camper full time until we find a home to purchase and Wayne and Ann are great people. Over the last 3 months they have done everything they can to accommodate us and have helped us out when we needed it. The bath house is clean and the camp sits are a nice level gravel pad with a picnic bench and fire pit. There is a very nice little stream running right through the middle of the campground and while sitting outside its very peaceful to listen to the water running by. They also have a very nice inground swimming pool. If you're planning on staying in the area I would highly recommend Whispering Winds.

This is one of if not the BEST Campground you could ever stay at. Whether your RV camping, tent camping or are staying in one of the nicest, cleanest cabins you have ever seen. To start off the owners Wayne and Ann are the nicest most accommodating camp owners you could ever ask for. They have made our time here at Whispering Winds Campground some of the best memories we will ever have as a family. This campground has all the amenities you could ever ask for and more. From the cleanest restrooms, bath house, laundry room, camp store, swimming pool, pavilion, game room and campsites you could ever imagine. The permanent campers that are here are top notch and like Wayne and Ann are and will forever be part of our extended family. The owners have made my children's time here unforgettable as well. They have activities all year long that accommodate everyone, including our special needs child. I can't say enough about this campground other than it feels like home. To the people that leave negative reviews. I'm sure you're perfect and never have been at fault for anything in there lives. You know the type. Some people aren't happy unless they're complaining about something. It must SUCK to be you going through life that way but enough about those Happy Campers LOL. In short if you're looking for that special campground that you and your family will be talking about until the next time you stay there again, then hurry up and book a trip here so you can start making those lasting memories like we have done. Trust me you will not regret it and before checking out you will be making reservations for your next unforgettable time here at Whispering Winds Campground.

We had such a great experience at such a unique campground. This mom and pop campground is nestled in the Allegheny Forest, and if you love nature, this is a must go! Campers are backed up to a creek that children are allowed to play in! The child in me couldn’t stay out of it! 🤣. The owners are so kind and caring and met all our needs. We will definitely be returning!

An exceptional campground! If I could give more stars I would!!Owners are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They guided us to some great hikes and experiences. Pool is clean and the kids loved it. Love the Creek running through the campsites. It sounded so peaceful at night. Location is great for touring the Allegheny National Forest. Highly recommend!!

Unprofessional disarray abounds. We booked two campsites via phone. I was there while the booking was done on speaker phone. We were charged for these sites on that call. We arrive on the weekend we reserved to find people at our sites. They had booked someone else into them. They adamantly denied they did not book anything for us. Even showing them the bank account charge from them they said it couldn't be. Further they were requesting bank routing numbers so their bank could look into it?? Who in their right mind would hand these over. The husband and wife running this place just doubled down over and over how they are infallible despite evidence of their mistake being shown to their faces. They are utterly incompetent. We drove multiple hours to the campground and they offered nothing aside from a "Couldn't have been our mistake".On top of this the campground is cramped with sites nearly on top of one another. The creek is dismal at best. Overall I'd recommend you strongly reconsider camping here and book one of the other wonderful park run sites in the area.

Heading home from our first weekend at WW and we are sad to leave. This was our second ever camp trip in our RV. The layout was easy to maneuver and the sites were great! The owners take great pride in their campground and it shows! A creek runs the length of the campground which is great if you have kids or dogs that want to play in the water while you’re relaxing at your site. Pavilion, playground, pool, and bathrooms were clean and neat. Wifi was great and we had full hook ups. Lots of activities planned for campers including a pancake breakfast this morning before we left. They even give you a list of locals things and places to see upon check in, this was very helpful. Would definitely visit again!-first timers to site 21.

The nicest privately owned campsite that we’ve ever visited. We usually stay at state parks but the lure of the children’s fishing derby brought us here. Beautiful campground, large sites, clean amenities, nice pool and camp store. You can tell that the owners care. We had a great time and will be back!!

This campground is wonderful! The owners are great. We love everything about this place...especially the babbling brook. We happened upon this gem last year for an overnight stay and ended up squeezing out several days of our schedule to stay longer. We live in Florida and drove several hundred miles out of our way to come back again this year. They have so much here for such a quaint little place!Everything is well maintained. The long-term people keep their sites clean and their units are all newer and in good shape. Please don't listen to the people with bad reviews. Funny how easy it is to form a bad opinion of someone when they catch you breaking the rules.Did I mention the babbling brook?!?

Spent a night here in late July and had a nice stay. The stream that runs through the middle of the campground is great - our spot backed right onto it. Our kids loved the stream, the pool, and the playground. The staff and the other guests we talked to were super friendly and the facilities were clean and well taken care of.

We enjoyed our stay, although we were basically in the area to see family and unfortunately didn't get to spend much time on the campground. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The campground it self is small and charming with a babbling brook thought the center. It also has a heated pool and nice playground. My children enjoyed it all. We defiantly want to go back sometime. My husband says it is his favorite campground thus far. We usually stay at state parks in Michigan so this is our only fourth time camping out of state. The campground is located in the middle of the Allegheny forest with lots too do.

We had an awesome time at this quaint little campground. The swimming pool was refreshing. They had cable TV. We had cell service. They had very clean facilities to use. There is a laundry also. There is a nice little camp store. These are the things that are important to us. We also like full hook-up. If you forget something Dollar General is within walking distance "for us anyway". Ann was exceptionally nice and helpful. Folks it is a great place and we had a great time. We will be back. It borders on the Allegheny National Forest with a hiking trail. There is a cute little babbling brook going through the campground. Can't say enough good things about Whispering Winds. Thank you A and J from PA

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 and 4 year olds, as well as two other families. We had a great time! The kids loved Deerlick Creek that runs through the campground. The playground was great, as was the pool. Firewood is very reasonably priced. The sites are very small, however. It's a big drawback but wouldn't keep us from coming back. The owners were very friendly and take great care of the campground.

We stayed in the big cabin for a weekend trip. The cabin was incredibly clean when we arrived - much cleaner than most campgrounds we've been to. The camp staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. 👍

This was our first stay at Whispering Winds Campground and we were very disappointed. We will not be returning. First, we felt as though we were treated unfairly and disrespected by the owner, Wayne. We were told, very rudely, by Wayne to leash our dogs. We understand the rules for the campground are to have your dogs on a leash at all times. However, we have leashes that are retractable into the collars that the dogs were wearing. We were not holding onto the leash only because we were letting the dogs swim in the creek right behind our camper. We were in complete control of our dogs, who are trained for hunting and are very well behaved dogs, and they never left the creek for any reason at any time. We watched other campers do the exact same thing with their dogs both before and after we were spoken to. When we brought it to the owners attention that we were not the only campers letting their dogs swim, he stated he would address it if he saw it. Not an hour after we spoke with him, we watched other campers letting their dogs swim and nothing was ever said to them. Second, we only live about 20 minutes from this campground. We chose to stay there this weekend because they have a heated pool and it was going to be in the upper 80s. On Saturday afternoon, we were going to take our daughter to the pool. When we were walking past the pool at pool at 2:30 in the afternoon, we were told the pool was closed and would reopen at 4:00. We were not happy that the pool was closed in the middle of the afternoon when it is the hottest part of the day. Again, we tried to talk to the owners about it. We were told, on Saturday afternoon, that "the State" called Friday evening and told him he had to close the pool due to a water sample that was taken on Thursday. However, the pool was open Friday. We were swimming on Friday with our 4 year old daughter until after 7:00 pm. So he is claiming he received a call sometime after 7:00 Friday night from "the State" to close the pool. We were not the only people who were swimming in the pool Friday. Lastly, the neighbors sewage hookup was less than 4 ft. away from our fire ring. It was beyond their camper and electric hookups and was in our site. There were times we were sitting by the fire and we could smell their sewage due to it being so far into our site and so close to our fire pit. We did appreciate how quickly they addressed the wasp nest we informed them about on the playground that was inside the seesaw. Ann was wonderful and we did not have any problems with her. We have never been treated as unfairly and disrespected at a campground as what we were here, nor have we ever had to leave a negative review for a campground.

What an awesome little place. We went there for the summer of 2013 and had an amazing experience. We came from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking to get away. The owners Ann and Wayne are absolutely fantastic!!! They make you feel like family. We can't say enough about this place other than its sadly too far to go every weekend or we'd still be there!
