This INN is very Beautiful, The Staff are very Professional, Respectful, and Helpful. The location is perfect. Your about 10 to 15mins away from anything you may want or need during your stay. The locals were all friendly and polite. However, the ROOM experience wasnt the greatest. Visually, the rooms look Gorgeous but there were a few issues that only produce inconvenience...#1 The TV didn't work forcing us to use InstaCast with our phones. The TVs would play for 5secs then Freeze.....#2 The A.C. did not work and it was quite warm outside during our stay leaving the nights muggy. (Bring a Portable Fan)#3 The Water Pressure in the Shower was Very Low and the Sink had a VERY SLOW Drainage causing it to fill up FAST.#4 The Ice Machines on both the 3rd and 2nd floor were not operational.(The Staff Provided us with Ice From The Kitchen. Which was another Plus to Service)If those Issues are resolved, then I'd give 5 Stars in a Heartbeat. I'm the last to be negative, but for $300 a night the basics shouldn't be the Issues......Expectations were high that's all.... This is still a GREAT INN, but the rooms need to be Updated.Spite all that, I would Indeed stay here again. I will edit my review and give the 2 missing stars if the issues are resolved. If the Issues still remain, it is what it is, the INN itself is still nice and peaceful.Rooms: Need a little work but we still enjoyed our stay.Nearby activities: Your in the middle of literally everything. Impossible to not find something Todo.Safety: Never Felt Unsafe or On Guard. This Hotel is safe.Walkability: Plenty Of Land to Go for a nice walk.Food & drinks: Never ate at the INN but I heard great things about the food.Noteworthy details: Overall I enjoyed my stay i'm just being Honest. Yes I would stay here again, in hope that the basics are met and provided. I'm a very low maintenance dude and the last to be negative, this review is Fair.

The location is great and the landscape is breathtaking. But I was disappointed, when we arrived they put us in a separate bulletin like a motel ! and to explain that they told us: because you reserved a room with 2 queen beds and we don’t have any in the main building! if I knew I wouldn't book. because for $180 a night I didn’t expect to be in a motel!

This is a sponsored review. We stayed here on a weekend in February 2024.IF YOU HATE FAMILY AND FUN THEN DO NOT COME HERE.This resort is ABSOLUTELY incredible. I adore the historic charm! If it’s so “creepy” then why have so many famous people stayed here?! 3 US Presidents, Frank Sinatra, and Arnold Palmer just to name a few!Our room was soooo beautiful. The view amazing. His and her sinks. Living room fireplace. Handmade soaps and snacks. Absolutely stunning! There is literally so much to do here. Guided morning hikes! Sky night train tours. Swimming. Boating. Golfing. Axe throwing. Skiing, snowtubing and snowboardimg. A spa. An arcade. An inside museum. Bonfires. Movie nights. Live music. This resort truly thought of everything!Noteworthy staff! Luis and Donna in recreation! Thank you for the bonfire + hikes! Kasey and Ayden in the restaurant, thank you so much. AJ the front desk receptionist, thank you for letting us investigate the alleged haunted rooms! Jeromy and Nikki for planning all the adventures and Kara from the museum who knew so much anout the area!12/10 would recommend this hotel again and again!Rooms: Gene Simmons from KISS and Buffy the Vampire Slayer stayed in 316!!Nearby activities: Snowboarding, skiing, golfing, hiking, boating, swimming, stargazing, drinking and so much more!Food & drinks: Loved the beer + pizza at the brewerySteak is a must at the River RoomCocktails are great at the tavernNice breakfast display!

Not going to lie this hotel is very creepy but other than that we had a great time and the prices were great. Overall the rooms are very old fashion and small but that’s OK because we weren’t really in the hotel very often. If you were looking for a cool and Modern Hotel this is not it this hotel is very old fashion and not much to it you have your rooms and your pool and that’s about it they have little catering events here and there but other than that it’s very old fashion. In my opinion I think it’s great outside is beautiful on the water and I love the aesthetic of this place for the price it was nice. Front desk girls are very friendly as well.2024 update: the prices are through the roof now! What happened? Wanted to book a weekend but instead of $200 it’s almost $600+ now. So sad!

Love love love The Shawnee Inn! This is truly mine and my Grandson’s happy place. The front desk staff and maintenance are amazing and so helpful. Not sure of her name, but tonight she was very helpful and kind. It’s nice and refreshing to see a smiling face offering to help you with an issue rather than getting an attitude and not helping. We’ve been coming here for years and we love it. Super clean also. The pool and hot tub are the best! Highly recommended.

Recently went there with my brother and two nephews on a golf package. An amazing historic place. Pictures on all walls of top golfers and movie stars. Jackie Gleason, Ed Sullivan etc etc. Too many to mention.First about the inn: the building itself is really showing its age in the guest rooms with sticking doors, hair dryer falling off of wall, cracks in walls that have been poorly patched etc. But, hey! I may have been sleeping in Arnold Palmers bed so i could overlook it. The main floor had beautiful dining area and nice restaurant and ample bar. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The beautiful indoor pool and spa added to the attraction. The grounds surrounding the hotel were amazing. So much to do. Ax throwing, camp fires, canoeing, many trails to explore. Too much to do in not enough time as we were only there two days. Now for the golf: drove up and bags were taken out of the car and put into carts by efficient tenders. By the way, when you are finished they take your bag off and put into racks and lightly clean them off. It takes around five to eight minutes to get to the first tee as you have to drive over bridge and various trails to get there. Remember, the course itself is mostly on an island surrounded by the Delaware river. Other than the long grass on either side of the fairways where most35 of us lost too many balls,3, it was lots of fun. We will be back again

I enjoyed my stay here. The brewery was great, the food at the Gem and Keystone Tavern was fantastic, the staff were really nice, and the room was nice. However, the building is starting to show its age and it feels like they haven't been maintaining it properly (if at all)Rooms: All of the furniture was REALLY worn out, there was a loud window unit in my room but not in my friends room right next door, and the shower didn't have very good pressure.

If you are looking for a sparkling new hotel then this might not be for you. The building and rooms are dated, there is plenty of deferred maintenance and patchwork around. Although the building is old, it’s clean. What it lacks in newer facilities, it makes up for with character, charm and excellent customer service. The resort staff is kind, friendly and welcoming. I witnessed and experienced, excellent customer service. The nightly cookie on your pillow with a handwritten card giving you tomorrow’s weather is a very nice touch. There was a bonfire each night by the river for your enjoyment. Although I did not experience it, I did see hayrides and a trolley rides on the grounds. The room was clean and spacious. There was a coffee pot with tea and Folgers coffee. The soaps are locally sourced which is sweet. It had two full beds that were among the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. Lacking was a desk in the room to do some work. There is WiFi but it’s intermittent. The tv has several channels, but like the WiFi, it buffers a lot and even goes out for periods of time. The grounds are beautiful and so not having the most reliable wifi and tv is not the end of the world. It encourages you to get outside. There’s plenty of grounds to walk. Of course the rooms could use some attention.I was here in the fall so I imagine in the summer, there is much more to do, including being on the river. There was a bar and brewery with outdoor games. Although you are only about ten minutes from stores and restaurants, the resort really has everything you could need. There is a coffee bar with other assorted simple foods and sweets that was open until 7 pm. The main restaurant, the River Room Restaurant offers a delicious breakfast. I was here for a business event so our lunch and dinner was served in the separate room, but they do offer dinner. The foods were delicious. We had salads and sandwiches at lunch, along with soup. Dinners included a taco night and then chicken, beef and eggplant on the second night. There was someone playing the piano in the lobby on Friday night, that was lovely. If golf is your thing (it’s not mine) there was so many golfers when I was there, so it must be decent. There is a rich history of the resort, pictures around the building show it in it’s heyday with Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope and Eisenhower to name a few. The building has some charm that you can only imagine was stunning back in the day. I saw lots of families with young babies all the way up to seniors.Overall this was a pleasant stay. Although this was a business trip, I would come back (and probably will) for a vacation. The prices were reasonable, the service was excellent and the grounds were beautiful. Although it does not have all the bells and whistles of a new hotel chain, there’s a delightful charm that makes this place feel comfortable. Their customer service makes it stand out and it is what is missing from the many chains and newer hotels.

We stayed at the cabins for the weekend, the beds and rooms were clean and cozy. If you're here for a few days, make sure to book a sunset cruise with Bill, he was super cool and gave us the historical tour while enjoying the sunset on the river. There are endless things to do at the inn, but also lots of wineries and Stroudsburg is very close by for bar hopping, shops, and massages. Overall, the stay was pleasant and affordable!

I had a horrible experience when my wife and I tried checking in. I was early and was advised I would receive a phone call when my room was ready. I never received a call. Three hours and fifteen minutes later and over an hour after my room should have been ready I went back to check on the status of my room. My room was ready. Staff said they tried to call without any success. I checked my phone-no call, no voicemail, no text message, no email. I asked for a manager and was told none was available. I received an email from management, Rob Howell. I expressed my concerns, no response. I asked for a manager the next day, no response.I called and left a message for Rob Howell a week later. No response. We ate at the restaurant on property. Our waitress was awesome, but we were brought the wrong food. We made the best of our stay. Completely disappointed in the staff and their unresponsiveness. We will not be returning to the Shawnee Inn.

We had our wedding at the Shawnee Inn, and I'm thrilled with our decision in booking with them.Pros to having your wedding there is the flexibility in your planning process. Wedding coordinator, Tabitha, did an excellent job responding to questions via e-mail, and was pretty much open to anything I suggested, including a sparkler exit, a pizza party rehearsal dinner, and drinks specifically created based on our favorites! The banquets staff did an excellent job setting up our venue. I was a bride who micromanaged my decor, and they went above and beyond expectation to put together a beautiful ceremony and reception hall. All our guests loved the food, and the brewery on site has incredible pizza! The bartenders on site were lovely, and so helpful when it came to making our guests happy!Lastly, the resort is so beautiful, and put us and our guests in awestruck the day of the wedding, as the weather was beautiful and overlooking the river. While the day is perfect, some critiques include the rooms, as they require renovating; although, they are actively renovating. Half of our guests were thrilled with their rooms, the other half were disappointed as it was outdated. As the bride, we were in an older room that did not appear renovated. The bed made up for it though, super comfy! I also was not entirely happy with the break-down of our wedding, as the staff put our arch near the trash compactor, ready to be thrown away. I also lost a set of chair ceremony floral, which I planned to resell. Everything in the reception hall was put away with no issue. Lastly, we paid extra for a fire pit for the after party, and I provided all decor and items needed for a s'mores station. When the wedding ended, the fire pit was no longer burning, and all decor/s'mores items were on a table in a box, with nothing set-up. I would recommend speaking with events staff to ensure any after party decor is set up to your preferences!

Beautiful historic resort. Keep in mind historic. Lots of history & a Ghost or 2.. I'll start with the good stuff. Restaurants & food on the grounds are all good and reasonably priced. The rooms are basic but comfortable enough. Bathrooms are unique (ours the curtain on the wondow didnt fit length or width). The smores & fire is great, hay ride & golf cart tours are included as well as Axe throwing & Archery. The pontoon boat tour is a must. I feel the price point is too high. There is alot of room for improvement & updates. The fitness room is a complete joke. Every piece of equipment is rusted, the treadmill, bike & elliptical all broken and the all in one machine needs oiled plus the room is filthy. Next up the womens locker room with the ceiling falling down and dirty. The pool/hot tub area needs alot of help, the shower supposed to rinse before going in water I would not set foot into...disgusting. Wall paper is taped, carpets are dirty & dingy. The Thermostat didn't work in our room so asked for a fan and it was so dirty I turned a white wash cloth into black. Not enough outlets IMO. Overall facility is dingy & dirty. I hope it gets some love & updating.Rooms: Small but comfortableNearby activities: Hiking and water sportsWalkability: Lots of trails and walking distance to restaurants & activitiesFood & drinks: All restaurants were good

We stayed at the Shawnee for a stay and play golf trip. The resort is very nice. It is 100+ years old. If you appreciate the nostalgia and history, you'll love it! If you're expecting a shiny new resort, you'll find flaws If you look. The golf course was very nice. Thick rough!! The layout of course was a bit confusing but they had signs to help navigate. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. The onsite brewery was very nice with good brews, tasty pizza, and live music. The end of day fire and s'mores were a great end to the day. They could definitely reinvest wisely and make this that much nicer. We will definitaly visit again.

My review is mixed. Our room was extremely small, we could not fully open the door because the bed was too close to it. The paint on the walls is very old and peeling and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest. You are unable to control the room temperature even though there is a thermostat. Our room was so hot and we were told to open the window and they sent up a box fan and a rotating fan. The actual inn itself is pretty cool and historic. In its day I'm sure it was beautiful but I don't think they have even painted the actual room since 1920. The cable was out the first night we stayed. Now for the good parts. The pool was great, my son loved it and the hot tub was also very large. They have plenty of loungers to lay/sit on. Both nights we had to wait about 40 minutes for them to refill the towels and when they did they put out about 7 towels while having about 12 people needing them. The restaurants on site are fabulous. The food was absolutely great with the exception of breakfast at the river room. I've had better breakfast during a hospital stay. I would give five stars to both the pizzaria/brewery and the gem and keystone tavern. However, the inn itself I can only give 2 stars

This hotel is one of my happy places in Pennsylvania. The location is great, just by the Delaware river. The view is gorgeous!!!! I always come here during ski season. The hotel is only a few minutes away from the Shawnee mountain ski area which makes it very convenient! I love their fire pits during the night and their brewery! I was there just this past Thanksgiving weekend. Very glad to see the bathrooms are being remodeled and the rooms are looking even more beautiful! I can't wait to go back again!

Was here for a wedding. The wedding was flawless and the food was fantastic! There were only two issues, we stayed in the cabins. My wife fell by tripping on a pot hole in the road walking to the main building. There were a lot of them, and the lighting was poor. The second thing, though more minor, is that the rooms in the cabins don't have blackout blinds, so the rooms get VERY bright first thing in the morning as they face the east.

Historic place that has some really nice features. Beautiful big porch with seating that overlooks the practice green and Delaware River. Lots of scheduled activities and a restaurant and golf course on site. Room was OK, nice bed and floor but bathroom left a lot to be desired. It was very small and extremely dated with peeling wallpaper. Could easily hear the loud group in the room next to us. It is a very old hotel with a lot of history so it makes staying there kind of worthwhile.

This is my second time here, and have enjoyed it both times. The hotel and attached brewery staff are wonderful. Like other reviews say, the rooms can seem a bit dated. BUT they are renovating a lot of rooms currently it seems.Another guest said their TV didn’t work, and neither did ours. Not a big deal though. Room on the smaller side, but the bathroom seems to have been updated recently which was nice and the bed super comfy.Would also recommend extending the bakery hours, or having a community pantry where you can buy goods like medicine or personal care items around the clock. Had an incident where my partner could have used Tylenol or Advil, but was unable to get it because the bakery was closed. Staff was very helpful in providing some at their own expense though!! (Thanks a bunch woman at concierge’s desk)In Summary, a historical hotel going through good, necessary updates I most likely will be visiting again!!

My fiancé and I love the Shawnee Inn! If you like a little rustic charm, you will love it too! I have stayed here about 5 times and always have nice, clean, rooms! I'll admit, the room price is high for the small room that you get, though. ? I LOVE the scenery outside.. the porch, and the brewery on the property! Fav little weekend getaway spot!

Absolutely beautiful property! Extremely well maintained - always. Friendly & helpful staff. Great river access as well as a nice indoor pool. You’ll see everything from fish jumping, to bald eagles, to maybe even bears! Fantastic place with history to boot! Golfer Arnold Palmer met his wife here!

I have been coming to Shawnee since the 80s, but this was my first time dining at the Inn. We came on a Thursday night before Labor Day weekend and it was pretty quiet, very few guests. We had dinner on the porch at the Inn, which has an incredible view, especially at sunset. The service staff were great and the food came relatively quick, but the food was disappointing - everyone in my party agreed the food was underseasoned, and the bread was stale. The Inn itself could use some love - the porch was covered in cobwebs and there was a leaking ceiling right off the lobby with several buckets placed underneath to catch the water. Doesn't give guests much confidence in the maintenance of the place. Would love to see this place restored to its former glory and celebrate it's long history.
