On a recent visit I purchased 2 items that had 2 digital coupons both for Clorox products. One coupon was expiring that day the other not till 5/11. When the receipt printed only one coupon was on it. Another employees remark was that maybe the other coupon wasn't good yet???????I agreed to only take the item that the coupon expired that day. Printed another receipt that didn't take that coupon off. When I questioned it the employee didn't know how to fix it. Needless to say I left the store with only one item and NO coupon off. Very frustrated!

See this is what happens when you treat your employees badly. They get sick of it and walk out. Terrible corporate and bad management. I don’t blame them for walking out. Also you only pay them 8.00 hr to take care of the register, put the truck away and put up with customers. You could pay them more. You pay your DC center employee’s more and these employees at the store work just as hard.

I haven't been in here in about ten years. From what I remember, it's an ok store. I was back here again today. It's a nice store. Sizable place. The lady at the check out was very friendly. She talks to everyone. She says hi to you the minute you walk in the door. Nice person. Love the new store that was built. Nice and big. Problem is, when checking out, you have to wait a long time in line because the lines are always long.

I go to this store at least four times a week. They always have great deals and the staff is always nice and helpful. Sometimes the store does get a little busy, but the long line goes by fast. When I need cheap products and im on a budget, this is usually where I shop.

Ever since covid struck this place has been a complete disaster. When considering shopping at this location, count on your items not being in stock. Count on crates of inventory that have to be unloaded blocking your aisles. You can count on long lines at check out. Count on long waiting times to be served. Count on this store to not be open on time. And if you're shopping late afternoon, count on this store being closed early due to "system errors".And if you're like me, who applied to this location to try and help get the place back to a respectable establishment, count on them never calling you back.You guys should close the store until yall have the staff to run this place.

This store is much bigger and cleaner than the old dollar general was. However the customer service at this new one is awful! I have asked employees many times for help only to have them look at me like I was crazy! Really, like they have no idea where that would even be in the store let alone if they have it or not. Then you go to check out and the new registers they have do not show items scanning from the customers view. The receipt is only a total amount due and that is all why? So I can't see each item that I bought and the price of it? That is ridiculous. I'm sure everyone that goes into a store wants to see what they have been charged for. Also if it was on sale make sure the sale price is what you have been charged. Every time I go into this location and get to the register the employee standing there looks like they are miserable. Never a hello or anything of nature, not even a smile. Maybe being able to smile and say hello should be a requirement for a job in customer service these days.

I love shopping for specific things at this store. Household items like paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, etc. But they often only have one check out lane open and too many customers. Other than that, the Dollar General is great. Great discounts and great service when it's finally your turn in line or when you need help.

Great New location finally doesn't feel like your walking up hill like the old location. Size of location is bigger. Has it's on in metered parking on side with handicap ramps. Looks more modern. Great selection with expanded grocery section. Great for people who live in Shamokin and Coal Township without a car. Definitely makes Shamokin look better. Employees seem to be friendly. Some aisles can be tight but that's from added traffic.

No. Don't go. If you enjoy parents that don't parent their children and dodging kiddie pools collecting water from leaking roofs, and squeezing around carts left in isles from employees filled with merchandise to stock later on in the day, and mile long check out lines, and having to ask for laxatives and pregnancy tests since they need to be kept behind the cash register only because they were being stolen so much. Come to this great dollar general. It's honestly not the store. I think it's the location. Half the town doesn't drive so. All the locals that don't walk on down and ....bam!! Free for all. Free child care . mad dash on laxatives and pregnancy tests. And every one wants to pay for their stuff at the same time ( except for the laxatives and pregnancy tests shoved down their pants). Just go to like rite aid or whatever.

This place is perfect if looking for a few quick items at reasonable prices. The staff is knowledgeable of item locations within the store and deliver efficient quality service with a smile! Recommended for anyone who doesn't want the hassle of waiting in a line with just a few items in hand!

Quick n Easy...Good Prices....Can get into there's Store get what you want But, most of the time there are long lines. Some people just walk right out, which is not fair to the patrons. Because most of the younger people leave their stuff on the floor, for the Cashiers or Managers to pick up and the Elderly do not see the stuff on the Floor n I have witnessed a Elderly Lady almost fall, a teenager was able to catch her.Both lines should be open more...w/more Cashiers....SO THEY DO NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS, OF PEOPLE LEAVING THEIR STUFF ON THE FLOOR AND POSSIBLY SOMEONE NOT SEEING IT AND FALLING. Someone could get really hurt, especially if no one can catch them n they HIT their HEAD or BREAK a BONE...Just my thoughts n opinion...

Most of the time I have a good experience here. I did get a little ticked off when I went in and got $20 cash back. The lady didn't have it in her drawer and was not happy but I asked for cash back. If you're going to advertise cash back you should be able to provide it. She looked at me and simply said I don't have it. I told her she better make something happen cuz I'm not just letting $20 slide. She told me she was going to have to give me all her ones and hope that she didn't get written up. That's not my concern and she would have definitely been getting written up if I had to walk out of there with a $20 loss.

Dollar General here is about the same as other Dollar General stores. The shelves are mostly stocked well and the checkout are not to long. Kept fairly clean. Pricing is about even with the stores around the area. Employees are helpful.

Decent place lots of stuff I would not expect to see in a dollar store.I was there to get some stuff for a partyEnded up getting a whole bunch of stuff at bargain prices. Really nice people. Highly recommend this place

Good prices large selection of household cleaning items and decorations for holidays. Isles are tight and cluttered at times . Staff is very nice and helpful.

Dirty, carts always in the aisles, the line is always long does not call another cashier. Just overall not a pleasant place to shop, I will be going to anthra plaza from now on!!!

I love the dollar generals but one in town in shamokin isles too small can't get cart. In them always packed with store stock

Messy and tight to walk in aisles due to u boats in several areas of the store.The Shamokin store is too small for so much product.However it is efficient,just needed an overhaul as far as floor design.It is obvious to the customer that there is an overload of duties for employees,hense the long lines and wait at checkout.

Isles are always cluttered. I was lucky enough to catch a box that almost fell on an old lady's head. It's like a teenagers bedroom. I won't get anything in a cardboard box there. I saw roaches in a shoe box once.

I hate going to this store. I would rather make the drive to the one up the road in the little plaza in ranshaw. This place is often very cluttered boxes and carts all over the store making there very little room to get through

Janet was very rude to my pregnant daughter and she's like a teacher in the summer time no class also she stands outside and throws her cigarette butts outside the store no more shopping at Dollar General
