I was traveling to NY on business and stopped at this hotel for the night. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The location was excellent and close to everything you need for traveling. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I would recommend anyone traveling to stay at this place for a night. You will not regret it.Rooms: Rooms are well light and inviting and great price.Nearby activities: Restaurant on property with great food.Safety: Security camera placed on the grounds for your protectionWalkability: Close to everything

I was there for work. Got there at 1pm and I start work at 2pm. They told me I could not check in until 3pm. I asked if there were any available rooms. I was told yes but I would have to pay a early check in fee. I was disappointed but I left. I checked in around 11pm after work. I stay here often. But I think I will stay at the Quality Inn for a few bucks more next time.

No Breakfast, coffee in lobby is not available until 7 am, office is locked overnight, My room 170 did not have an iron board, no iron, no coffee maker, no alarm clock, only one shower grab bar, and very childlike height toilet bowl. No one answers office phone after hours. The 2 person jacuzzi jets were dirty, I had to sanitize with bleach prior to use. Bed was comfortable. The microwave, fridge, ac/heater, wood flooring, and furniture were brand new. The room(s) were spacious. I liked that the jacuzzi was separate from the main room and the bathroom was separate from both the jacuzzi and main room. There is a Mexican restaurant onsite; however, there are many meal options near by. Parking is plentiful and access to inner rooms near pool is easy. Managament is professional. It appeared there was a group of long term renters onsite but overall seemed safe to walk around at night.

We stay here a lot when visiting family in the area. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly. Our telephone in the room didn't work and the toilet would keep running unless you wiggled the handle. Other than that, decent priced rooms.Rooms: The beds are comfortable. Room was clean.Food & drinks: There is a Mexican restaurant on site. I LOVE the beef enchiladas!! Very good!

Not even a continental breakfast! Hotel is very rugged around the edges and needs a major update. Found a room clock buried in a drawer the morning we checked out.Rooms: Sparce at gestSafety: Keyed outside entry security door was always unlocked.Food & drinks: Sucked! Mexican restaurant was closed at 6pm.Noteworthy details: Just a very dated property...spartan, low level amenities. Not even a piece of breakfast toast

Everything was alright. The bathroom can go for an upgrade or be bigger. It's small and not enough space to move. Other then that room was great.Rooms: Bathroom needs more space for people to be able to move as they see fit.

Furniture was dirty and worn, couldn't even sit on the couch. Something sticky was on floor by couch. Shower curtain was dirty with hair, tub was very slow to drain during shower. Dead bugs in spider web on light bulbs on bathroom mirror. Non smoking room but smelled of smoke, we had to go buy a candle. $195 for one night with these conditions is terrible.

Only stayed for 2 nights, thankfully. The first night was fine. The 2nd night sounded like a party was going on or something! Loud voices and running up and down outside the room! And this was at 11:45pm! I guess no one has any common courtesy for others around here. The price was good but now I know why. The room smelled when we walked. Had to walk around other people sitting outside their rooms smoking. Not what I want to walk through. I don't recommend this hotel.

The hotel advertises they have in room coffee pots, hair dryers and irons, and ironing boards. They don't. When calling the front desk, if you can get someone to answer, you are told they have them, but you have to request them as they don't put them in the rooms. Really? There must be a lot of theft of those items up here! The beds are very firm. It's too firm for me, but that's a personal preference. They have a sign at the front desk that says all of their rooms have gone to non-smoking. That's great, but the towels smelled like stale cigarettes.Check out is 11 am. We reserved the hotel room for 2 days. We went out that afternoon and upon our return found our room keys didn't work. The front desk was happy to reprogram them. I didn't realize I needed to go each day of my stay to get my keys reprogrammed. Very inconvenient. Especially in the cold rainy weather.I had to catch a cleaning person with a cart to get a new towel, and the guy apologized profusely because he did not speak English and had no idea what I wanted. I had to point to a towel to get one. This one smelled freshly laundered and was much softer.Upon opening the mini fridge to store some drinks, I found a used food wrapper and crumbs of some description on the bottom of the fridge. On a positive note, the employees are very friendly and accommodating. The microwave worked well and was clean. The room itself was clean, and the ac/heater worked perfectly. It's not what I expected in a hotel, but it wasn't a horrible stay for the price. If you are looking for a bare-bones budget hotel, this is the place!Rooms: Clean.

There were some small sanitation issues but other then that I would have given a 5STAR all around. The pool is great for both kids and adults. The pool didn't seem to be cleaned regularly in the mornings. That was the only issue. They also have a in house place to wash and dry cloths! Customer service was the best. All the staff were wonderfulRooms: The rooms are ok. The beds weren't to my liking because I have health issues but my kids liked the beds.Nearby activities: This is a busy area. Not ideal for walking at all. A vehicle is a definate need.Safety: I would give Safety a 10! Great safety from being in a safe area all the way to no slip showering. We felt safe completely on all aspects during our stay.

We have been staying at the Econolodge in Shamokin Dam, PA for years on and off. We were there on 7/20/23 through 7/22/23. We had several rooms booked. The hotel has gone downhill since we stayed there in 2019! The light in the bathroom kept flickering, lights went out totally for a few seconds in all our rooms on Saturday morning, no hair dryers/ironing boards or irons in the room. Had to request them. Were told to return them to the office when we checked out. How tacky! We left them in the room. Not walking to the office carrying them! We were also told we would have 4 rooms next to each other. That did not happen because people that live at the hotel and have been there since March, and were right in the middle of the block of rooms. We had to be quiet sitting outside because they had 2 babies. We ended up moving our chairs but shouldn't have to. We were just talking in normal tones. We will not be staying there again! What a disappointment!

It is exactly what you pay for/need. You can't beat the location - there is a stunning little cafe around the corner and the shops are all ~4 minutes away.Something in this room activated my allergies, I think it was the middle blanket but there was also mold in the bathroom and something questionable on the wall near the sink. The TV was small - like 20 inches? All that to say, you get what you pay for and the staff has been incredible. I forgot my laptops charger in the room and they have worked so nicely with our group to ship it back to us. They do offer free breakfast. The heat/ a/c worked great. The water pressure/temperature was incredible.Rooms: The rooms were in need of a deep clean and I did not like the blankets at all. The water pressure/temperature in the shower was incredible.Nearby activities: There is the cutest cafe nearby, Eagle's wind coffee shop. They have great coffee and donuts. The roller rink is within 5 minutes as well. There's a mall, movie theater, shopping - this location is great.Food & drinks: They served coffee and grab and go breakfast in the morning.

Stayed in a Double queen room non smoking. Very clean, hardwood floors were nice. Beds comfy. Bathroom was very small. Hairdryers listed as a room amenity but the front desk looked everywhere and couldn't find one. NO HAIRDRYER. Also, FREE BREAKFAST was aweful, just coffee and 3 kinds of little muffins that didn't look very good..thats all. Otherwise OKAY stay.

Stayed here for three weeks. EXCELLENT EXCEPTIONAL staff and the price was good for what I got. Don’t expect anything fancy, but these people are some of the most pleasant I’ve met. Def would love to stay here again given the chance. Only con was the parking lot- not too well lit and a bit tight. A pickup truck actually banged up my Porsche. Not the fault of the property or staff though.

Worst place I ever tried to stay out. Trying to book online from out of state, isn't the easiest to begin with. Showed up and several rooms later, finally just cancelled my booking. Between the bugs, occupied/not cleaned room, a bed not secured to wall and people smoking pot in the parking lot.... It was too much for me to grasp and to pay. I should have been paid to stay there. The manager did refund my money, but the time it took me to look at several rooms and not be slightly satisfied was crazy! This was more like a ghetto party house then a hotel for guests. Very disappointed. Stayed at these in many other states and always had a good experience. Hope the next customer has better luck.

Needed somewhere just to sleep (no frills needed) while traveling. We got in at 9:30 PM and there were no lights on near our room, had to use our phone light to find the room and get in the door. Room was not clean--stuff on floor, something on wall in bathroom that looked like feces/blood, hair in shower, dirt in all of the corners. We were on the 2nd floor and there was caution tape wrapped around the balcony rail in one section outside our room. Continental breakfast was granola bars and terrible coffee. Everything felt dirty and it didn't feel like a safe place. Definitely do not recommend! For the price you can do much better!

This hotel had filthy floors that made our feet black. The water pressure was non existent. There was a piece of balcony material hanging over the sidewalks. Continental breakfast is mediocre coffee and dry muffins/ danishes so bring drinks if you don’t like coffee or tea. There was vulgar music being played extremely loud and no staff said anything to them at the pool. The parking is horrible and some of it is the patrons fault who take 2 spaces for no reason but we feel staff should be in better control. Thin toilet paper. Blankets on the bed are stiff and look like a shower curtain. The pillows are terrible.Price does not match quality. Room is dirty and furniture is scratched up. I will leave one positive review, the AC works great.

We reserved a room here for Parents Weekend for my daughter's college. My daughter checked in Friday night and left after looking through the room. It was absolutely disgusting! Hair everywhere, stains on the furniture, dirty mirrors. When we arrived on Saturday we confirmed and immediately asked for a refund. I didn't even have to show the photos I had taken. They refunded us and we went to a different hotel. Stay Away!

Power stay and 82/4 to 8/25 in August was one of the poorest experiences we've had. The room's definitely need work. The shower/bathroom floors were wet and we notified them. We had problems sleeping because the room Above us had young people in it, and they were very noisy. We weren't able to get much sleep. The staff seemed to treat us okay. But the phone in the room did not work when we tried to call the front office about the noise..

Did not want a smoking room, whether that was overlooked by us idk, but the room definitely smelled horribly of smoke. The night we stayed it was 90plus outside that day and while the AC definitely worked, it worked almost too well… I was freezing! You can turn the AC down but it kept shutting off and on which was annoying! Plus, there were no additional blankets (or pillows) in the room. The “blankets” were the sheet and sheet 2.0 that was very thin. The bathroom looked like it could have been cleaned a bit and some light touch-ups need done. Also, we had no idea the hotel allowed pets and, of course, our room was next to a room that had a yipping dog in it.Oh, and, I forgot our keycard did not work so we had to get someone from the front desk to open our door with an actual key so if we wanted to go anywhere we had no way to get back in other than going to the front desk to have them open our room for us.Not a good experience for us.

First of all, the people at the front desk were very nice and accommodating. Whoever took the pictures of the rooms should be commended because they look much better than they really are. The first room we were given a key card for was poolside and occupied. Thankfully, no one was in it when I opened the door. Back to the front desk. They gave us a room on the back corner nowhere near the pool. There were no bed skirts on the beds so you could see the box springs. There were cobwebs on the bottom of one of the chairs, burn marks on the tub (non-smoking room), the backs of the doors were filthy, there were dirty fingerprints on the walls in numerous places, a gross sticky substance on the floor next to one bed and there was a white powdery substance on the wall and floor outside the bathroom. The tub clogged the next morning when we showered and would not drain even though they tried twice to fix it. When I went back to the desk to get a new room, they comped our first night. We were moved back to the room next to the first room near the pool. This one had bed skirts and smelled better, however, it too was dirty. The doors and walls and floor. We went to a store and bought disinfectant spray and wipes. I sprayed everything and cleaned the floors, which were bare and absolutely filthy. There is no way anyone vacuumed or mopped in that room anytime recently. The Choice Hotel website claims that they do 'Enhanced Cleaning'. Apparently the housekeeping staff doesn't look at anything besides the bedding , tub and sink. I wish I could attach the pictures I took. I don't know about other locations, but this one is a disgrace.

It's been a while since I've been in this chain & this hotel surprised me a couple times. While being partly under construction, this hotel is beyond comfortable & has a text feature for any issues. Also, the hotel does offer a unique set of rooms on both the exterior & interior part of the courtyard. A lone drawback is the proximity to the very busy intersections of US 11 & 15 along with PA 61 & 147 which can cause traffic headaches. Overall though a pleasant experience.
