We had a fantastic time vacationing here. This is the perfect place to stay if you have a slightly nervous/reactive dog, but want them to be able to enjoy vacation with you. My dog is barrier reactive and a bit of a barker, but otherwise friendly and well-behaved. He had a blast here (we stayed in the Delaware) with the big yard and windows to look out. I wasn't worried about disturbing the "neighbors" because the chalets are well spaced out. The location is also great--we found lots of great trails and got lots of great views.I will say that the furniture isn't the comfiest, especially the beds. But that is such a small concern compared to how great our stay was in general. We spent the whole time talking about how excited we are to make coming here a yearly tradition. The folks who run this place clearly love dogs and have created a space where dogs of all confidence levels can thrive. Also, I loved all the dog decor in the house!Rooms: The room themselves were lovely but the furniture in them were not super comfy, especially the beds. They were tolerable for a couple of nights. The dog decor in the rooms is super cute!Nearby activities: Lots to do nearby in terms of trails and sight seeing! It's a 40 min drive from Jim Thorpe which has an awesome scenic railway.Safety: This place definitely felt generally safe and very quiet/peaceful.Food & drinks: Lots of great food within 15 mins or so. We went a place called Garlic Restaurant and it was amazing for a birthday dinner. There are also a couple of wineries nearby that were fantastic--Mountain View and Sorrenti.

If you’re looking for peace, look no further! Hearing the birds throughout your day, singing a symphony of nature as it warms your soul is an experience that is priceless! Walking your fur babies down a beautiful trail while you hear mother nature all around you to the nightfall is an amazing experience. Very quiet with the exception of the songs that mother nature has for you and definitely a place to think clearly. I am a writer and I definitely find peace in reading and writing here at Good Dog! My dogs absolutely love it! They love the smells And the calm. They run all around the yard which is safe. They do Zumiez and they enjoy being here equally as much. The people that work at the resort are all friendly and give you the feel of family. Must say this is my second time coming and I’m already making plans for the third .

We loved our little getaway! The cabin was adorable with sweet dog-themed decor everywhere, and we enjoyed snuggling up by the fire with the pups at night. The design of the yard and deck are perfect: hedges give the deck privacy and the fenced yards of the other properties do not face each other, so there is no worry of dogs getting each other over-excited and barking across lawns. The yard was a very nice size with well maintained fencing. Easy access to parks and trails. Not far from home, yet a perfect detox from the day-to-day, and our dogs had a blast!

Love this place! The property, houses, decor and location are ideal for a dog-lovers getaway. Plenty to do in the area and on the property with your pups. Have been here 3x since last Spring and can’t wait to go back againNearby activities: Hiking, wineries, shopping, site seeing

THE PERFECT PLACE TO VACATION WITH DOGS!!!We haven’t been on vacation in 6+ years because we never wants to leave the dogs. (If you’re a true dog lover you know the deal). We stumbled upon Good Dog! Vacation and it was PERFECT. The house was clean, had everything you needed. We loved that we were able to stay in a cook rather than eat out. The fenced in yard was amazing, secured, and clean. The location was perfect, nothing was terribly far away.It was a home away from home. The staff were amazing, kind, warm, and welcoming. They were SO excited to meet and greet with our dogs. They even let us meet the resident doggo (Sasha) who was the best girl!We felt safe and secure knowing we could leave the dogs so we could go for a little outing.Highly recommend staying there!! They treat you and your dogs like family. We will definitely be back

We stayed here recently and found the location to be lovely. Feels remote and plenty of space to walk our dog in peace and the nature trail on site was lovely too. Fenced yard with in ground pool was awesome for the summer and our big fluffy dog who loves the water. Place was clean and great place to hang out. Location isn’t really too far (10-15 mins maybe) from some nice restaurants and good hiking trails and parks. We would definitely come back!

Good Dog Vacations is my home away from home. It’s only 1.5-2 hrs from New York City. I love it for multiple reasons. The serene and natural beauty. Yesterday, I saw blue jays, rabbits and a groundhog. It’s dog friendly. Most houses have a fenced-in yard and a doggy pool. The cottages are comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The property has a community pool/jacuzzi, and a nature trail. Local eats and stores are just a 15-20 minute drive.

This was the perfect place for us and Zeus. He isnt the most "social" dog, and the fenced in area, the space outside, made it perfect for us to get away and not leave our family member behind.Texted the lady we booked with constantly and she was so pleasant and had great suggestions for us in the area.Everything was in great working condition and clean, and purchasing the unlimited fire word we had that fireplace going all weekend long and relaxing with the wonderful crisp air.We wi definitly be going back here again !

We took our dogs there almost two years ago and it was a very relaxing and peaceful stay. My dogs enjoyed having the yard and pool in the yard. Very accessible hiking all around and lots of food options. When we were there we didn't find the trout stream but next time we would like to. Very friendly staff and the chalet was very clean. They even have a towel for the dogs along with poop bags. I found that to be awesome. Over all a very cute place to unwind and I'm looking fwd to going back soon

Nice relaxing place to stay. Nice fenced in yard for the dogs to play but no gate to keep them off of the porch. This wouldn't be a problem except for the porch fencing is only around normal rail height. If your dog is bigger and a jumper they can easily get out via the porch. Great for smaller dogs, not so much for mine. Place was very clean except for the pots and pans were put away dirty. Not their fault it's the responsibility of the previous renter to do dishes before leaving. I would highly recommend it if you don't have escape artists.

The place is absolutely clean. The peace of mind of having our dog running around of a fenced in yard was priceless. The nature trail is very well maintained, beautiful. The book left for the guests with all the restaurants and attractions near the area is very detailed and helpful. Please try the Ice cream place is fantastic!!! The dog decor, the basket for the dogs with blanket towels and bowls is very thoughtful. Only thing I missed was salt and pepper in the kitchen. We will def come back.

It’s not the cleanest or the coziest, but it’s perfect for the dogs..The yard is so cute and safe for the dogs. The dog theme decor is adorable. However, investment should to be made into deep cleaning, upgrading the mattresses, and sofa. This suggestion is consistent with other guests feedback for years. This was my second time staying and my dogs enjoy it so I will be back, but I hope that changes are made. Thanks!

The place was recommended by friends of ours who also have dogs and it certainly did not disappoint. We wanted to go somewhere that we could feel safe especially during this pandemic and it started off with Jackie being super friendly and helpful and wanting to do everything to make our stay an enjoyable experience. When we got here we didn’t know exactly what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised as the chalet we stayed in was exceptionally clean and equipped with everything that we needed to start our weekend here. We had two dogs that absolutely loved the fenced in yard and deck which was so brilliantly thought out. There is plenty of room in the three bedroom chalet for four adults and two dogs and just loved the beautiful fireplace that was available on our chilly nights. I also love how the surrounding towns especially downtown Stroudsburg were so pet friendly as we were able to take our dogs with us to so many places which made it a lot easier on us. We are already talking about coming back here again and as I drive home I am missing it there already. I would certainly recommend this place for anyone that would like to vacation with their furry friends.

Don’t believe the bad reviews.. this place is a beautiful 🤩 property we stayed with 3 golden retrievers and 6 adults comfortably.. there are tons of wineries (we went to blue ridge), restaurants.. they have a fenced backyard and a large patio.. the interiors are a little dated but it’s v neatly maintained.. our dogs ran to their hearts content. The fire place is excellent we bought the logs and really enjoyed the warmth, grilled marshmallows too…last day we took a walk upto club house, dogs ran outside also.. overall it was an awesome vacation…

We had such a great stay. The chalet was very clean. The only issue I had was not a very big selection of cookware for a place that can accommodate up to 6 ppl. Otherwise it was beautiful. Our dog had a wonderful time running around with all the nearby fields and trails. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to travel with their pet and we will be staying again. Before booking I read almost all other reviews and was a little worried about what expect. Once we walked in however, the place was excellent. You are near woods so obviously you may find a bug or spider, but anyone who ever stays in cabins or anywhere near the woods should know this. Beds were a little softer than we prefer, but they were not awful. I'm not sure if some of the bad reviews really had these issues or just are not outdoors kind of people. Every thing was pretty close to get to things we wanted to do while in the Poconos. We are looking forward to booking our next trip!

My husband, son and two of his friends stayed here. And yes, we brought our 3 fur-family members with us. There wasn't much in the area of the place, but we were content just hanging out by the pool and hiking. The boys took some road trips for canoeing and hiking in other parts of PA.The dogs had a blast, having freedom to do as they pleased. Our cottage was wonderful, mostly becuz I think they kept fur families in mind when decorating. We didn't have to worry about fur becuz there wasn't any carpeting. All floors were fur friendly. Just sweep and dispose. No vacuuming to have to worry about, no emptying vacuum bags. The family room had a couch of leather which also helped with keeping fur to a minimum. My only chore here was trying to keep up with cleaning up after the dogs.We will def be back. Unfortunately, we lost one of our Golden Retrievers since then. There will only be 2 Goldens on our return trip. RIP Roxy Roo.........we miss u.

A disappointment. The location was isolated with no other dogs that I saw. There were several problems including no key in the promised location and no answer at the phone numbers provided. Took nearly an hour to get help. When I complained, they told me to do them a favor and not come back. For the money, there are better dog vacations. Try Emerald Glen in Morris, NY

Our chalet was very clean, no dog smell and no dog hair from whomever stayed there before us. They use pet friendly cleaning solutions. We had 3 couples and 3 small dogs. We were very comfortable. But do bring fans during the summer only one bedroom has air-conditioning. The staff was friendly, courteous and welcoming, especially Jackie. She always answered any questions we had. We felt right at home here. The area such as restaurants and activities were very dog friendly. We got to canoe with our pups. Wish there were some more dog activities (like dog happy hour is occasional so you have to hope you booked the right weekend) on premises but John, manager, did say they are expanding for next year. I was skeptical but Good Dog Vacations exceeded my expectations. We are already planing next year's family trip. I would definitely recommend to other fur parents.

Absolutely peaceful and beautiful scenic views. Activities (kayaking/canoeing/trails) and places to eat that are pet friendly are listed in a binder at your house for your convenience. Gated house which allowed my pup to run around safely in and out of the house. Doggy pool was perfect size for my pup. Ranch house was simple and had all the amenities we needed (we stayed in 3 bedroom, 1 bath). All we needed to bring was the food. Contactless check in due to the pandemic and it was super easy! Any questions or concerns they addressed immediately via phone/email.For those who care the house was dated, but it was clean! Not all rooms had an AC unit so my husband and I were comfortable and cool in the master bedroom with our own AC. However, our other family member’s rooms had no private AC and were hot in the middle of the night. One night they had to leave the door open to feel the livingroom AC. The pool is small IF you have a large dog. My pup is 40 lbs, 6 month lab so it was perfect for him. The trail on the resort leads straight to the highway, but the small river on the trail was fun for my pup to explore. Bring bug spray! Next time I’ll bring those OFF bug repellent candles. WiFi wasn’t the best but that was a sign to be one with nature and not fixated on our phones!Thank you for providing a space that welcomes dogs. It’s hard to find! A wonderful and different experience. We can’t wait to return and bring more pups.

This location is truly a hidden treasure and during a time where we are trying to be socially distant and also just wanting to take a break from our daily routine, this is the place. From reserving online to the friendliness of the staff in answering all our questions (thank you Jackie) all the way to the Contactless Check-in and Check-out process, it was by far the smoothest and easiest getaway we have ever planned. The Chalet we were in was clean, fully equipped kitchen, bedrooms were roomy, the front porch with the privacy hedges was perfect, and the backyard got our dogs approval. We just came home today and we already wish we were back. This is a great location for those wanting peace and quiet, to enjoy nature; the view from our porch was amazing and the Nature Trail was like going on a 1 mile magical journey. This Pet Friendly resort is exactly what all Pet Families need; a place to allow for your entire family to stay here which includes our furbabies, it makes you feel more at ease knowing everyone is with you and you truly feel at home and this getaway was exactly what we needed. We are DEFINITELY coming here again.

I was one of the 4 human guests staying in the Apache chalet (Saturday through Tuesday morning). Very clean & spacious accommodations! Very friendly staff! Our dogs, Caesar & Foxy, had a wonderful time playing in the large yard. They even had a better time when we took them on the nature trail. We will definitely come back and recommend it to our friends! We all had such a great time!

This is a great place. Definitely coming back. The perfect spot to take your pooch for a break. Dog safe. Dog runs. And plenty of room to run around in. The cottage was way more comfortable than I expected it to be. Yes we ARE coming back. Highly recommended! Update: We went back to a different unit this time a month after the last visit. We enjoy staying here so much we are coming back next month!!

This was so disappointing because I read such good reviews and then such bad ones. I decided to give it a try with a friend this week so our doggies could run around together in the snow.Pros: The yard was large and the porch was totally fenced in. In nicer weather, I could have sat out there all day. It was very peaceful. The doggies had a great time! They also allowed us early check-in due to the snow, which was really nice! They brought us extra laundry detergent and sheets when requested. They also shoveled our porch and part of the walkway.Cons: It honestly was not very clean. There were also things falling apart in our chalet. Maybe we just got unlucky because others have said their chalets have been nice. It was pretty dumpy. There were stains on our sheets and towels and we had to wash everything twice before using them. The closet door in the master bedroom was falling off and there was a very noticeable smell of mildew and definitely of previous dogs. There were pee stains on the couch so we had to wash blankets and lay them on the couch to sit on. We also lost Wi-Fi which seems like a common concern in reviews. I am mentioning it because we had to leave early because we had to work and couldn't without WiFi.It really is a bummer because when I saw this place, I was so excited and was going to try and plan multiple stays with different dog friends. I think if they did some updates to the chalets, they could really get some great business here. I would go back if updates are made to the chalets because everything else was fine.

Staff in the office are wonderfully helpful, friendly and personable. We stayed in the Seminole a simple but tastefully decorated 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage. Very clean, lovely fireplace and cathedral ceiling in the living room. On the downside the beds were comfortable but mattresses were ENCASED IN PLASTIC so were sweating all night. This meant waking up cold and wet though feeling hot. The electric baseboard heating made the air way too dry and hard to keep at a comfortable temperate. We were constantly either cold or hot, never just right. Wifi DID NOT WORK the whole week we were there, though we paid an extra $20 for it. Water pressure in main bathroom was just a dribble, 2 burners on stove did not work. Got the impression management is cheap and underpays staff and they work hard to keep up maintenance. The maintenance guy was excellent but looks like they need to give him more hours or hire another.

I researched Good Dog Vacations heavily before booking. Most said cleanliness chalets were abundant! I think I just got the wrong end of the stick. Our chalet had mouse droppings in a drawer, when I told management about it...no response. I left a detailed email regarding the issues, no response.First, the good: the fenced in yard and doggy pool was phenomenal! The goal of our puppies having a great time was achieved. The landscaping and grounds were gorgeous. The decorations in the chalet were cute, all doggy themed. Now, when we got there, bugs everywhere! Giant bugs. Like someone left the door open for 15 minutes prior to us entering. Small things that were a bit cringey, like dirt on the walls, clearly left by a dog, a phone charger left by the previous guests, severe grease all over the top cupboards above the stove, the windows were caked with dried food, dirt, cobwebs, etc. The mouse poop was the most disappointing and disgusting.I understand things happen, but for the price of the chalet, and the ZERO response from management, I was pretty disappointed. The were really quick to respond "no you may not have a late check out." But didn't respond to our two emails regarding feedback with the disgusting mouse poop.Maybe they thought we were trying to get a deal or something?? Which we most certaintly weren't. We just wanted acknowledgment or an apology on spending $600 for quite a disarray of a chalet. If they would have responded "how can we make this right? Our sincerest apologies." I would have given them 5 stars and chalked it up to a poor housekeeping employee. But the lack of response, when they clearly read our emails was disappointing and shows a management issue versus a one-off issue that I would have happily been okay with an apology.

Our unit looks like a log cabin, clean and welcoming, resort staff is great. We had a great stay. Camelback Ski Resort, Great Wolf Lodge, Stroudsburg, food and stores within 15 minute drive. No complaints.

We had an idea to do something special this christmas. With a little searching found Big Valley Resort, a dog friendly place? This place will be perfect, we go nowhere without our children or our 2 teenage daughters. We believed their well designed and missleading website and booked the week around Christmas. Good thing we booked well in advance because it took 2 weeks of unreturned emails and phone calls to get someone from big valley to correct our reservation dates.Upon arrival to Big Valley I went to survey the fence on our chalet's private acre of land. This was done very quickly beings it was only the size of the chalet.I spent more time picking up dog poo from previous visitors. I thought nothing of it, since we do so on dog paths at home.We put the children in the "pen" and took our baggage inside.Their website states newly renovated chalet sleeping 6. Yes, it had "beds" for 6 and are as old as year it was built 1980. The bedspreads were U-haul moving blankets. The kitchen was not renovated, Dated appliances. Oven smoked when you turned it on. One burner of stove didn't work the other 3 were questionable? Mismatch bunch of pots and pans, silverware that taste of metal when you ate with. A dollar bottle of dish soap with sign on it "Do not discard", really! The master bath shower doors were Rusty and off their tracks allowing water to go all over the floor. Black mold in all corners of shower enclosure. Don't turn on exhaust fans or it will pop your ear drums? 1 roll of AP paper per bathroom. They have a fireplace with wood on the hearth that you are not to use, you have to buy it or bring your own? The seating in living room not comfortable at all.The glass of the sliders were filthy of dog prints on the inside and windows above sliders haven't been cleaned in a LONG time.We let our dogs in and they "hit" (concentrated sniffing)ona bunch of different places in the house,Indicating a previous dog accident. We understand that dogs get nervous in new surroundings and may mark new territory. Nothing that warranted contacting the resort because dogs stay here. We should of! Because after our departure, we were contacted by management quite nastly that we "trashed" the place and our dogs are not house trained! We have never been contacted ever about how we leave a place we stay at.We usually get any security deposits back immediately and are commended on how clean it was left.Hard to do when the cleaning supplies here consisted of a broom, dust pan, an aged hand vacuum and bottle of dish soap.We never found the mile long walking trail, pictured on the website? There is 63 acres of nothing, except an occasional dynamite explosion from construction site next door we experienced on Christmas Eve day. It's a nice gimmick, claiming dog resort.Unfortunately you need alot more then a plastic baby pool and an elaborate fence to make this concept reality! For the price we were charged including extra fee for multiple dogs we were extremely disappointed!

My family booked two chalets for a long-weekend stay in August - I live nearby but can't house 10 houseguests... so I was glad you were close by to accommodate everyone. Everything was great - my parents and siblings brought their dogs, and were so grateful for the doggie pools - not to mention the human's swimming pool too! We enjoyed walking the trails with our dogs, hanging out in the roomy, comfortable chalets - which were beautifully equipped and very clean - and just enjoying the peace and quiet of the poconos. I'd give ya 5 stars but we couldn't get the exact weekend we wanted - we already booked for next time though!
