This was our first time staying at this KOA. We stayed in a cabin. We've stayed in cabins in other KOAs, and this one ranked about middle out of all of them.Pros: It was really really quiet, some nights it felt like we were the only ones around, and that was great. All amenities were very close to our site, so we didn't have to walk far for anything. The atmosphere was great, the trees surrounding the area were nice, it was shaded and cool sitting outside. The cabin was clean and cozy. We had 4 adults, 2 kids, and a dog and it was big enough for all of us. We liked the little dog area we could let our dog off leash for a bit. The play area for the kids was amazing, they had a baby swing for our 20 month old and a ton of fun things for our 6 year old. While we were there they had a little tie dye event that we enjoyed. All of the employees were nice and enjoyed talking about the camp.Cons: The game room was very disappointing. There was 1 pinball machine and 3 claw machines. Not sure if there was a separate arcade room or not, but we didn't see an air hockey table or anything else like advertised. Not a super big deal, but the jump pad and game room were only open on Friday and Saturday while we were there, the paper we got when arriving just said hours were 10-8. There were a few little things that could have made our stay better, one of 2 burners in the cabin didn't work. It would have been nice to have towels for the shower, all of the other KOAs we've stayed at had them. Luckily we brought some, but it's just one of those things that would have been nice to not have to pack. There also were no extra pillows for the pull out couch, again we luckily brought our own.All in all it was a great time. Our kids loved it, and are already asking to go back. We would definitely go back.

Just spent 7 day's here. Staff and owners were alsome. Have no complaints what so ever. Ask about a extra picnic table. And within minutes. 3 of the them showed up and said where do you want it.This place is just 8 to 10 minutes from the lake. They are very very dog friendly. Nice little fenced dog park with bags. There are also dog bag stations spread around on the roads as well just in case you forget yours.Don't mind the mess In some parts if the campground they are in the process of adding more sites.Definitely will be back.Nearby activities: Just minutes from raystown lake.

Absolute best campground we have ever used. Wonderful for yearly stay, or for a single night visit. The new owners have upgraded so much in the campground that it would be hard to list. Exceptionally quiet after quiet time at 9pm, and actually super quiet the rest of the time as well. We can't recommend this place enough! Also, the new WIFI is Turbo speed!

Nice campground. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Only minor complaint was that the site are too close together. Felt like we were right on top of another. Our tent site didn't have much shade so the sun was beating down on us.From what guest told us they are under new ownership and in process of fixing campground up.

We really wanted to stay at Raystown Lake somewhere more private, but those owners told us we cant because of a breed restriction. KOA allowed our kids (dogs) to come which we really love because they are really well behaved and deserve all the other fun stuff other breeds have on vacation. Our pitties loved the dog run, and all the other dogs there. Its always quiet at a KOA, and we purchased a KOA membership just for the dog reason/convenience. Well, that and its a decent rate for full hook up. Quiet & never a bad attitude by staff. We obviously will be returning to several KOAs!

The staff here is great and very friendly. Decent camp store and clean bathrooms. The roads throughout the campground have a thin layer of gravel which basically turns to mud when it rains. There is a large area of grass in front of the store but very little grass throughout the campground. The dog park was not very well maintained and we wouldn’t allow our dog to go in. Our site was a pull through with a paved patio. The site was nice and plenty big enough. The grade and narrow turn at the end of the site made it difficult to pull through. I had to back out. The Wi-Fi was decent but we had no cell service with TMobile..

Our first stay at this campground and there will be many more return visits. The restrooms and showers were spotless. The pool area is really nice and well kept. The campground is under the shade of many tall trees. The sites are primarily gravel and are of nice size. The staff is super friendly and more than willing to help however they can. We had a site issue at check in and there willingness to get it resolved exceeded our expectations. Got to give this place a huge thumbs up!!

This is our favorite campground! The owners are so friendly and are always available to campers. The campsites are level, clean, and lots of room. The Wi-Fi is excellent and perfect for streaming. They have wonderful family activities, and the pool is perfect. Congratulations on your first year! We will be back in 2023!

If you want to have a bad time camping, go somewhere else; the Raystown Lake/Saxton KOA is AMAZING!There's a ton of great things I can say about the campground, but the best thing by far is the staff. Mike, Cindy, and their team are completely focused on their guests and their needs. They insisted on never letting us carry the firewood we paid for back to our site; it was delivered. They would regularly check in around the park to see if we had issues, or just to say hello. They asked how our two boys liked the playground and pool, and if the showers were clean for us - they always were! The facilities at this KOA are clean and gorgeous, the sites and grounds are well-maintained, and the staff make you truly feel like this is your home away from home. An absolutely great week!We were told "come back soon, we'd love to have you!" We're already planning our visit next summer!Playground: Clean, well-maintained, modern new equipment good for 2-3+ year old children.Restrooms: There is one toilet-only bathroom and 3 unisex shower/toilet bathrooms. The shower/toilet combos are clean, spacious, modern, and GORGEOUS!Dog-friendliness: We did not bring a dog with us, but there are many sites with built-in dog kennels, a public dog run that is clean and well-maintained, and a variety of dog treats and biscuits in the camp store.Picnic area: Each campsite has its own picnic table, and there is a very nice, clean, well-maintained pavilion available.

Oh my God! This place is amazing. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Almost too accommodating. The game room is free, there is a huge bounce pad. While I was there they had free popcorn and ice cream floats. The store has everything you need and it’s no overpriced like other campsite store. The bath house has amazing showers. Marble tile and shampoo and body wash is provided. There is also a blowdryer. It’s a full bathroom with a sink and toilet. It was beyond clean. The campground d itself was clean and well manicured with great landscaping. By far the best place I have ever camped. Very pet friendly and there is a resident cat that will come visit you!!!!

Some of the nicest people I've met in my life. The staff couldn't be more friendly, kind, and helpful. They also had an ice cream social for the kids as well as a park, nice pool, game room and jump pad. Everything was immaculate and well cared for. Our site was large enough to accommodate our needs and not feel cramped. We would definitely return.

Small but very nice campground. Very quiet, staff and owners very nice. Would like to go back and see more in the area.FYI Nothing negative about campground, but stay to main roads don't come over and down the mountain road in your motorhome or towing. It was a struggle Breaks ant unit were stressed. Left a different way and was perfectly fine.

Took advantage of the KOA Rewards program to go tenting 2 nights for the same price. This is a great campground with a peaceful atmosphere in the woods. The staff did a great job of taking care of us. We will definitely be back, and I think my wife is hooked on camping now :)

Raystown Lake KOA was super friendly & very accommodating especially on the 4th of July weekend. We went out of their way to accommodate our stay on very short notice.Thank you to Cindy and Laurie for your gracious hospitality for us and our family. The park is small but very well maintained. Loved the pancake breakfast!!

You pull into what looks like a small campground on the side of mountain and quickly you are pulled into what feels like the secret garden. Each camp spot is flat and very spacious. You feel like you’re completely alone surrounded by woods, it’s so quiet and private. We didn’t go inside the cabins but from the outside they look so cute! I definitely want to check them out next time. The BATHROOMS ARE SOOOO NICE! Normally I only use our camper bathroom but these ones were so nice I wanted to check them out! The playground.. A+, your kids will love it! The game room.. is Free!! How many places can you say that about?! The kids can spend hours in there laughing and making memories.. and the games.. are going to make all the dads happy! The bounce pad and pool.. definitely a win.. and the selfie areas are great for making memories. The store had everything I needed.. and things I didn’t but wanted to buy anyway. They give you an itinerary when you arrive.. it’s so cute, so well thought out. I loved it! The team definitely makes you feel welcome, kind and like family. The activities made me not want to leave the campground bc I wanted to make sure my kids could participate in them all! I can not recommend this place enough.. don’t plan on many activities outside the campground bc you won’t want to miss a moment here.

The price-gouging is beyond reasonable; it's ridiculous! We stayed in a cabin 3 weeks ago and it is a nice cabin, but very much overpriced!! They have only 3 cabins so they are probably always full, and, therefore don't care to be fair. They didn't have the jumping pillow inflated and didn't offer a reduction even though we had 2 little ones with us who would have very much enjoyed that (missing) amenity. And, the store hours are very limited. I wanted to wash our clothes our last night there, but needed quarters. They were closed and didn't have a change machine. It's a very small KOA so you'd think they'd provide better customer service for what you pay. Evenso, I made a reservation for next year - in OCT 2022 and the owner pressured me to put down a deposit because "they fill up fast for Halloween month". I found out 10 days later that this was not the location where our group prefers next OCT so I called the (same) owner to cancel. She did give me an immediate refund, but kept $50 as a cancellation fee!! The cancellation was for a reservation 14 months in the future. What a ripoff!!! Only the upper middle class can afford to rent a cabin at this KOA or be willing to extend your credit haphazardly and with regrets! Buyer Beware!!

A little too small for us. Sites are a little tight and small for our liking. Staff is fantastic and the campground is in like new condition. We would recommend it to others if they want to stay at a KOA. Kids made a lot of use of the beautiful pool and the camp store had most of your basic needs. We're just used to going to bigger campgrounds but it's in a fantastic location. Only real complaints we would have is the neighbor who's house was behind our site mowed his lawn almost every day we were there and he ran over every stick, twig, tree limb, etc (crunch crunch crunch) and our campsites proximity to the road (a lot of road noise.) Overall though really well maintained campground with great staff.

Very very quiet. Perfect. Feels like camping. If you're here for the typical "my kids constantly need to be entertained with KOA activities" you're in the wrong place. If you want to go be with your kids, and enjoy quiet and solitude at a campground (which is a rare find these days) this is your spot. Bathrooms clean. All gravel lots. No mud (even when it rains). Great KOA

This won’t be the last time we visit this campground!of the nicest people you forget exist. They put us in one of their newer sites that’s so spacious and over looks the campgrounds. The owner helped me (a newbie) back my camper into the space AND took an hour to try to trouble shoot why our refrigerator wasn’t working. The campground is easy to get to, spacious sites, and very clean. We will be booking our next stay before we leave!

Spacious and very clean. Bath house was very nice and currently updated. Staff was VERY accommodating and friendly. You are escorted to your site and assisted with parking, if needed. A staff member tours the campground frequently asking if anything is needed. Would definitely stay here again!

First time here, excellent! Wonderful and friendly staff. Very clean, lots of trees and the sites are NOT cramped, very similar to any other campground out there. 4 miles away from the lake and the national park. We went to visit the other campgrounds in the area to see if we would want to stay there in the future and it's not happening. We will be back! You should be very proud of your campground.

Thank you very much KOA Saxton. Way Above and beyond. From the time we arrived until we left, the entire staff was attentive and wonderful. Entire campground is clean and very well maintained. The sites were flat, level, and easy to park the camper into. It is very apparent that they love what they do and take pride in their campground. We will be back.Thank you,Mike and Michele Richards

Nice but smaller KOA with a little stuff in store. Pool and bathrooms were nice and clean, but shower was either very hot or very cold. Jim, John, and Nancy were very nice. Seven Points trails were further away than I thought, 30 minutes away to go mountain biking!
