I have been with this veterinarian for close to 30 years. I have had several dogs and a few cats...all of which have been treated there. I've spent thousands with wellness checks, vaccinations,surgeries...etc.The level of service has deteriorated since the retirement of the original owner and subsequent purchase. I had a medical emergency with my senior dog..who has been a patient since she was 6 weeks old. I was told they did not have time to see her....they were all booked up. Mind you this is an elderly hospice situation. The receptionist...who I believe was Kathy...tells me she will speak to the Dr. to see what we could do. Calls me back 1 1/2 hrs later and says they would like to try meds for pain. I drive the 20 minutes there to pick up the med. When I get there she plays stupid like she never called me. Told me I must have called someone else....No! I dialed 757- 5440. Then the incompetence came out. After demanding to speak to whoever told me to come over...she said it was her. She made a mistake and called the wrong person. Mistake!? With an elderly hospice dog? Then reiterated, they had no time to see her. Take the "Hospital, " out of your name. Hospitals are where you go for emergencies! I will take all future pets elsewhere. I will not spent another cent there. How can you turn your back on a long term....dieing patient?Edit...I see you edited your response. In all fairness I wish to edit mine, as well. Had you not done everything I stated...you would not have been spoken to rudely. Don't cloud the waters and let's keep this honest for future potential customers. I won't allow your damage control to make me out as the bad one. Compassionate and professional are admirable traits...picking and choosing when to and when not to be are not.

We recently had to have our best furry friend put down. Russell Veterinary Hospital has been our vet service since he was a puppy. They have always been friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It was no different as we lost our pup. They were extremely compassionate and understanding.

Had a appointment today for my two kittens,they called an hour before saying we can't accommodate you after waiting a couple weeks to get in,about a week ago my husband left a bad review about his service with our elderly dog now they won't see my cats because of a disagreement with my husband,I'm sure we can find better care for our fur babies. So apparently I'm guilty by association there for my kittens suffer for it.

I love this place! The staff is great, everyone’s super sweet. They’re all helpful, explain everything throughly, and don’t judge. We’ve been back twice now with all 4 of our animals and all of them have had a great experience. We love our vet, all the vet techs are great. Their prices are a little up there sometimes, but that’s everywhere now. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone just because of the service! This is our new go to!

Finley & Axel are head over tails for Dr. Molly ❤️ and the entire staff at the Russell Veterinary Clinic❤️. Everyone there is so kind, caring, knowledgeable and compassionate. I am visiting from out of town for a while and my dog needed his nails clipped. The vet and the tech were wonderful with my dog, who is very hyper and active. The ladies at the desk were very pleasant and nice, too. If I have to come back for anything, I know all these people will be very helpful just like they were today! Thank you so much! This was our first time using Russell Veterinary Hospital and we had a great experience. Our pup Miss Indigo got her first set of shots and was taken care of very thoroughly by the vet. Highly recommend.

Found a fracture in her leg 4 days ago. I was told I was going to get a call back the next day with a game plan, never received a call until 5:30pm that day. If I didn't call them halfway through the day to remind them I don't know if they would of ever called. My dog has a fracture in her leg and can't walk and they act like it's no big deal. Told me they weren't comfortable performing the surgery and then in the same breath said they would be willing to perform it. Asked for a referral to a specialty vet. Called at 8:30am this morning, do you think I got a call back? Nope. So here I am left on my own to get my dog the care she needs. What I can gather is unless they're making money you're not a priority.

Staff is great I love them . Just like regular medical doctors their prices are high , but they all are anymore. They check with you before running pricey test which is good. I thought cats are cheap..they arent.

All 4 of our dogs go here now. They are so sweet and caring for our dogs. They don't make you feel guilty about decisions (we have a 1e year old blind and deaf dog with dementia that we're doing comfort care with). They also do their best to fix what they can. They even call to follow-up with how they are doing. Love them.

Our family just had to put our very old, but very loved, dog to sleep. From the front desk attendant to the vet and vet assistant everyone was kind and very caring. They explained what to expect and gave us as much time as we wanted to say goodbye. I highly recommend this vet hospital. Their prices are affordable by comparison as well.

Every employee is kind and caring. You can just tell that they love animals,and love what they do! It is so refreshing,to know that your family pets are in such good hands! They are very accommodating,and always go above and beyond. Even when the news may not be as good as we would like,I find myself still smiling,just because I know that our pets are in good hands!

Doctor molly is the only reason for this bad review. Her bad advice lead to my dogs stitches tearing out only two days after a surgery on her shoulder. She specifically told me and my wife the dog did not need to wear a cone. I've had to make several trips to the vet to have this addressed including a 350$+ visit to the pet emergency clinic in Erie because the Russel emergency wasn't there for me when I needed it. The doctor continues to recommend treatments for the dogs wound that she can't even explain to me. I'll only be back if she doesn't touch my dog again. Beware, ask questions, and be self informed before you have your pet treated by this doctor. Always request a second opinion. Very disappointed, I came to them because I thought I could trust them with my dogs well being. I was wrong.

Always easy to get an appointment time that works for us, even for an emergency where we went to the Lakewood location instead of Russell. They are so great with our dogs and offer awesome alternatives to just medication. Our oldest dog is starting to have joint/back issues so instead of steroids or muscle relaxants, we are trying a special food they recommended. I know some people think they are more expensive than other local vets, but it's worth it for us.

I am very well pleased with the treatment my 2 dogs received at the Russell Veterinarian Hospital. The doctors and staff are very efficient and friendly. The waiting times are short. Parking can be a little tight.

These people are amazing to say the least!! When a lot of Vet's in the area wanted to schedule me out a month when my dog was sick they said to bring h in and they would see him throughout the day!! They called before noon regarding additional procedures to get to the bottom of his problem after dropping him off by 9:30!! I honestly can't thank them enough for making sure he was seen instead of suffering for an extended period!!

We had moved into the area and when our dog got sick I called the places in Warren and both of them said "Sorry but we cannot help you". A friend gave me the number for Russell and within a day they took us in. A great and compassionate team, plus they knew their business and got my dog fixed up quick.I recommend this place highly.

They always manage to squeeze us in for emergency situations(one of our cats is very medically needy) to ensure that our pets get the help they need in a timely manner..

Twice now I have called with emergencies with my youngest puppy (one ate a sewing needle and thread-although at the time we weren't sure what it was)(one ate brick) and they denied my puppy and was going to let him die over money.
