Saturday night was awesome. 7 Mile Run (band) was great. The food truck was really awesome as well. The Camp staff was great, supplying us with a great time. The only issue was a "possibly" intoxicated non camper that stood up and blocked the view of the band and got mad at the owner for asking him to sit down. Stay home the next time and let us enjoy our great campground.

This is by far my favorite campground. First time there and everything was great. We had a spot up on top of the hill, very spacious, and level. All the seasonal campers we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. The bathhouses are well maintained. Nice hiking trails around the campground that the dogs enjoyed very much. We had originally had three sites booked and a week before one had to cancel and had no issues getting refunded. On checkout day the owner stopped by to say hello and we talked for a good while. The campground is quiet, peaceful, and the lake is very beautiful. This one will definitely bring us back again! Thank you silver canoe for the great weekend!

If you can get a spot in the wooded area, I'd recommend it. Those are much prettier than the other sites which have no trees at all. Kind of feels like a parking lot. The bath house was clean, it only has 2 toilets and 2 showers. The shower got hot which is better than some campgrounds. Though the shower head is too high and not adjustable if your short like my mom.Dog-friendliness: Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after.

If you are looking for tranquil and serene, this park is for you! Our site sat up on top of a hill, so when we checked in, the owner told us exactly where to park our rig so that it would be level, and she was spot on! The grounds were well maintained and I very much enjoyed the pool. Owners live onsite and you can see the pride they have for their campground. The camp store is also the town store, so they have a little bit of everything, which was really neat. They also have a small cafe, ice cream parlor, and game room. We will definitely be back if in the area again!

Used to be great place to camp. Then rules change and owner started policing place like a prison guard. Our kids didn't want to go anymore cause not a lot to do that they could enjoy for their age. Decided to give up our seasonal spot to move on. Followed the owners request on how to do it for someone to buy out our spot. Handed in paper they asked for beginning of month that we had paid for. A week later someone camping on our site we was on. Keep in mind we paid that month but getting money from new camper also. Now they trying to say we broke contract and won't give security deposit back. We got dated photos from friends from there to prove. They just money hungry and I recommend staying away. If you don't believe this post ask them why over 13 seasonal campers that was there for years are leaving this season. All will tell you the same thing. Greed gets you nowhere!!!!!!

First time we were at this campground. Will definitely be back! VERY friendly owners and staff, the people we talked with while walking around were also very nice. Lots of shaded spaces. We stayed for 5 nights and wish we could have stayed more.

Owners and workers are extremely rude and ignorant towards children unless they know an adult is around. Campground rules are made up on the spot even if they go directly against written rules in the handout. Handbook states children must be back at the site by 10pm but a parent can't push their own child on a swing at 930 because its "too dangerous". Owners lie and say they were yelled at when simply asked about the 10pm rule. Instead they recommend the children to walk to the lake by themselves until 10pm (apparently less dangerous than being pushed on a swing by a parent) Sites are extremely small and cramped. Unless you like camping right on top of other families STAY AWAY! Much nicer and friendlier campgrounds around. Staff are extremely unprofessional and liars! Definitely not a kid friendly campground. Will NEVER visit this one again!

Second year in a row for this campground. Private owners who live on site. They take great pride in the place. Constantly making upgrades. Very reasonably priced. Pool is super clean. Hoping they eventually add a fenced in dog run area.

We have camped there 3 times now and it has been a great experience every time. This is a really nice campground it’s very clean and well kept. The owners and staff are super friendly. The campground store has everything you need. The sites are decent size and easy in and out. We will definitely go back and recommend Silver Canoe to others.

This is a great campground, we appreciate how they take care of it and if there are any issues, they are on it. It seems as though camping has changed and so many people don't care about others around them. I'm sure it's not easy to be in the service industry in this day and age, but Silver Canoe and staff are killing; thanks for running a great campground!

Won't let me Rate this place a 0 but if I could it would get a 0 out of 5. We are located in a place where camping is #1 thing to do around here. I would NEVER recommend this as a KID FRIENDLY place. The staff was extremely RUDE and apparently HATE their lives. Kids got yelled at for everything, can't ride bikes past 730 pm, can't be at the park past 9pm have to be at camp site by dark. (which seen people in a kayak at 1030 pm) must be owners kids!!!! When the rule book states differently. Sites are extremely small and hilly. NO flat land. You have to pay 8 bucks/per person per day for visitors but only allotted 2 cars per site. My dogs had shock collars on but after day 2 the owner came to tell us to put them on leads... They didnt bother anyone. Then my son put a hammock up and again the owner came to tell us to take down (my 70#son had up) was on a too young of a tree... 🤦‍♀️ One night at 1030 the owner came BACK while we were playing cards at the picinic table. No music, no kids, just some rnr that he wanted to remind us quiet time is at 10... get bent buddy!!! We kept to ourselves, didnt bother anyone and was treated like 21 year old kids who blasted music partying all night and was disrespectful. Which was BY far the case!! Again don't recommend this place to anyone. We had a family camping weekend, and made the best of it, but you run a poor, unprofessional, rude, and non kid friendly business!!! Do better..

Nice place but we didn't have any shade n it was hot. People who worked there were very nice. Pool was clean but was small but not alot of people used it . Very clean in the bathhouse. Would stay again but in the shade or take an easy up. Dog park was far away from where we were but we just kept our dog on the lead or just walked her. Corn field right behind us open field in front but mowed. Overall a good experience

Camp ground and lake was pretty good. If your going to tent I wouldn't go near the m and p area there is a vfw or something road that is very loud all day and night with vehicles and motorcycles right next to the tents. Everyone is friendly the store has some things and the worms I bought two packs all were dead other people had same issues. Golf carts were annoying at times but wasn't bad. Game room is expensive and needs ac. Pool is small don't go when they have any event. Overall nice park just don't tent in the area near m and p. Wish the tent sites was larger or closer to lakes and bathrooms. Bathrooms only have 2 showers. I paid for everyone when I booked the trip and they still charged a member that came later the next day so watch out.

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. All in all it is nice campground and the price is very fair.LTE coverage bad (AT&T and Verizon)Pros:- The seasonal campers are very nice and helpful- Water Clean and pressure is good- Electric up to date and works good- Very Fair Priced- Store is well stockedCons:- Our site was not level had to use multiple blocks to get level- Must pay for useable internet even when cell phone coverage is bad- Pool is small- Pool, Office, and Game room is to far away from the campsites. Golfcart, bikes, or driving your truck are a must.- Playground could use upgraded in the area where all the campersare at.

This campground is the nicest privately owned campgrounds that we have visited! The owners are welcoming and social. We were greeted with smiles from the time we checked in at the office to after we finished setting up to the social events we attended. This is refreshing because we have been to other privately owned campgrounds and it was like a clique...everyone here, including the permanent campers, were so nice. The camp store is well stocked and the canoe/paddle boat rentals are super reasonable. We were impressed at all the improvements that were made. The sites are very accessible with a fire ring and picnic table at every site. We will definitely be back and recommend Silver Canoe to everyone!

It's a nice place. Not much entertainment or things to do for the kids. Intent was very poor and no cable. It's a nice campground and we went on labor day. Staff was very nice. They have surrounding trails for atvs and side by side's.

Absolutely awesome camp ground! Best I've been to! They've got you completely covered with anything you may need. Staff was amazing. Great prices. I highly recommend Silver canoe. I'm not a fan of camp sites. More of "throw a tent up in the woods" type, but I will definitely return to Silver canoe! Loved it!

Great place to stay! This last weekend kids were making a racket after dark, snd owners addressed it, but now the trouble maker’s parents are dissing on the owners! Its disgraceful! No wonder the kids are ill behaved! The parents condone it! Ignore them and camp here!

We stayed in a cabin for the Groundhog Day weekend. The cabin was beautiful and very nice, except the water smelled like sulfur. We used the bath house near the office and they were super clean and spacious. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. I would stay here again!

My family and I stayed there for 6 nights. It was very relaxing. Ron was above awesome, as he would drive by at night to make sure everyone was okay and everything was going good.. did not have any problems here. The store is fully stocked and a good verity of things. The milkshakes we got on the 4th of July where not all that great, they use vanilla ice cream for all and just add sugared syrups for flavoring. Strawberry milkshake should be strawberry ice cream. I ordered a cookies-n-cream milkshake and got vanilla milkshake with Hershey cookies-n-cream Hershey bar chunks.. did not add any flavor they where old and in a zip block baggie from the freezer so it tasted like the freezer... The swimming pool was wonderful as it was a hot week.. I don't agree with if they hear thunder the pool closes for 30 minutes.. the thunder was in Indiana and they still closed the pool.. the game room was a good idea but not very well thought out.. no ventilation so it gets very hot in there... No chairs for the parents to sit and be prepared and take quarters as there is no change machine in the game room.. I would suggest making some windows, puting in some seating, a change machine, more or different games for all ages... Oh and put some music on in there...The "playground/sand box" by the pool did not please me or spark and interests in my two girls.. just looks like a lost idea, being right by the pool I would put some more thought into it, maybe put in a mini golf or even a playground for the kids.. moving on.... The dumpster, please add more dumpsters! The first thing my husband and I noticed when we arrived was the horrible smelling over stuffed over out the bin dumpsters. We watched as it filled up all week while we where there and only seen it get dumped once. We went to throw our trash away before checking out and there was no where to put it but on the ground next to broken canopy's, lawn chairs and more. Think about closing the dumpster in or even moving them and adding at least one more if not two more... They have one playground and it's small and behind the bath house.. nice for kids 10 and under...Okay moving on to the site we had.. it was nice.. butttt SMALL!! the lots are very very small, if you have over night visitors with a tent and you have dogs you miss well get two lots because you won't be comfortable. I was talking to my husband about getting a seasonal lot at Silver Canoe, because it's close to home and the owners are awesome, the park is growing but he said no way the lots are way to small! All and all it was a very nice week, just a few things I would suggest to change. We will be back!

Great place to take the family. Friendly staff. Lots of stuff to do for the kids. a playground, game room, a nice pool. Been there 3 times now and we will be back next year.relatively handicapped friendly as well. Though if you require to sit down to shower, i suggest you use the showers by the pool, as they have a place to sit in there.

Nice little campground. There is a catch and release pond for fishing. They also have canoes and paddle boats for rent. They have a nice general store a laundry room to cleanWash your clothes. It's an all around nice little campground. In the evening you can sit around a camp fire and enjoy the quiet of the night. Everyone is friendly.

If I could leave negative stars I would. I do NOT recommend this campground. We made a reservation, never having stayed here before, checked in, got to out site only to discover that there was a cabin “behind” us where the front door of the cabin was merely 15 feet away from the front door of our camper. NO clear campsite designations with very loud, drunk people staying in the cabin. I called the office to ask for a different campsite after explain how uncomfortable this site was and was told they had nothing. So then I kindly asked for a refund and said that we would leave. The very rude lady that answered the phone said absolutely not. I feel that because they could/would not accommodate another site that we should have been refunded. We found another campground close by and couldn’t be happier!

I've gone here in the summers for 2 years now. Always tent camping, always one night, always with kids. Twice now with my dog. I'm more of a primitive camper, but I really enjoy car camping with the kids. The kids love the pool and playground. It's usually enjoyable. There is an outside gravel road that runs by some of the tent sites that gets a little loud at times. So, late summer, school had started, figured I'd try to get another car camp in. Pretty much go straight to Silver Canoe for the kids without even considering it. Decided to bring the dog; I tie her up in a shady spot when we swim. Ended up with a site next to the gravel road, but traffic is light and it's no big deal. While setting up the tents, I noticed a dog incessantly barking in the RV section down the hill. Didn't bother me but I did kinda make a note of it thinking it better stop before we start chilling out for the evening. We go swimming after the tents are up. The rules are that dogs have to be on a leash, so as mentioned before, we tie up the dog while swimming. After getting back to the campsite, we are poking around late afternoon doing more set-up, starting a fire, etc. STILL a dog in the RV park barking but still not an issue; it's the afternoon and we're doing stuff. The dog is tired from all the running around and excitement and is just laying there in the middle of our site, so I leave her off leash. Yes, I'm breaking the rules, I fully understand that. She's a home-dog that doesn't leave my sight. Figured it would be no big deal; I know she won't bother anyone and if a dog comes around I'm right there... she doesn't exactly move fast. So, now it's evening and I'm getting dinner around. My dog hasn't moved (isn't bothering anyone) and the dog in the RV park is still barking (bothering people). There's people and the occasional dog in the other sites, but nothing really happening. The owner (I assume) comes around in his golf cart, stops in front of my site, and curtly says, "That dog needs to be on a leash". Ok, ya got me. She lifts her head to look at him, but that's it. So, I put her on a leash. People next to me says, "He's in a bad mood." I said, "I should call and complain about that dog that's barking and actually bothering people."So, first, yes I was technically breaking the rules. And I guess it's easier to just enforce the letter of the law, than actually have a conversation with someone. And I have talked with this guy before, many times. Maybe he was having a hard day; maybe other people were giving him a hard time. I don't know. Another review mentions the owner riding around harassing the tent campers. Never knew what that was about, but maybe there is some truth to it.The story of the evening is almost over. I let it rest. Cracked a beer in front of the fire and kept her right there with me on a leash. Sun started going down, it's nice and quiet in the campground... except one thing. That dog is still barking. I'm really not one to complain but the hypocrisy is just too much for me. So I called the office and they had the gall to ask me where it was. I don't know, I'm up in the trees, and you figured out my dog that was napping was off a leash, it shouldn't be too hard to find a barking one. I didn't say that, but that's what I was thinking. Lady comes by on a cart a little later and tells me it's been taken care of, and it was.So, I gave three stars. Google calls that "good", and that's good enough. Kids like it, sites are good depending on which one you get. Pretty good amenities, but I really just want to be left alone and I'll leave others alone. So, if I'm technically breaking the rules but not bothering anyone, give me the respect of a friendly conversation. After all, I am paying to be here. And what about the dog ACTUALLY bothering people? Might not be so automatic to go here and I'll try some other places.

My family has been going to Silver Canoe for the past 3 years. We enjoy the primitiv areas. There is plenty of shade, every site has picnic table and fire ring. You would be next to the pond where there are canoes and paddle boats for only $5.oo a person for the whole weekend. The kids love it. The owners are great people, they have made a lot of changes since we have started going there. If you want to take you kids for their first camping trip i believe they will love it. There is no pool there yet. But I know the owners are working on having one put in.
