This is one place you’ll want to stop while traveling Route 30 east. You can’t miss this iconic bakery known for its windmill shaped roof. It also has the best shoo-fly pie! When I arrived I was instantly greeted with a warm, freshly baked sample of the pie. They also have a nice selection of cookies, jams and jellies , and souvenirs.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted with an offer to taste their homemade shoofly pie which I happily accepted. This pie is so delicious there are no words to describe it. They have a variety of pies for sale including blueberry and peach and more. Dutch Haven is definitely a place to visit to purchase collectible-type items and souvenirs. I have to mention the amazing woodworking items that you can find here; benches, bird houses, cabinets, and rocking chairs, etc. all of which are locally crafted. Dutch Haven is easily accessible, located on Route 30 in Lancaster County, and worth the trip to buy their delicious pies!

I expected more food options, I guess. I did get some jams, and hard pretzels. And a cup of Amish root beer (I've had better.) I'm not a fan of shoo fly pie, but it is gooey, as promised. There's lots of souvenir type items, if that's what you're looking for. And some decent handmade furniture. All in all, it's worth a couple of minutes if you're in the area. There's more parking in the back.

Their Shoo-Fly pies are their No# 1 pies and their Pecan pies are their No# 2 top selling pies. I got a Shoo-Fly, Cherry and Chocolate Pecan pies. They were all delicious, and the Chocolate Pecan pie is my favorite. The store is unique. Majority of the store is filled with merchandise/souvenirs, and the pie counter is in the back where the register is. A couple of years later, I returned and got another chocolate pecan pie, and I also got a peach pie and root beer. The root beer was somewhat flat, and the peach pie reminded me of canned peaches in gelatin. It is definitely not my favorite. I baked the peach pie hoping the gelatin would melt, but it didn't seem to change much. While eating the pie, my stomach started feeling some discomfort and hours later, I got real sick. I'm not sure if it was the peach pie, but not taking any changes, I threw it out. I had the root beer the night before, and another glass while eating the peach pie. Not sure what happened. I will stick to the shoo-fly and chocolate pecan pies.

They don't have just shoo-fly pies, they have a lot of cool little things. Everything from little trinkets to furniture. If you want to try their pies, they do give free samples. They also have homemade root beer. The prices are a bit expensive probably because some things are handmade. It's definitely worth checking out if you're looking to buy a souvenir.

Cute little store! We were greeted with a free sample of their shoo fly pie! We did expect it to have more baked goods since it is a bakery. They did have pies and some cakes etc but no bread, soft pretzels etc. They had a lot of touristy gifts that weren’t specific to Lancaster, and some junk, but they also had a lot of cute things! We got tshirts and hats to remember the trip. A shoofly pie “second” but it’s still amazzzingggg. I honestly don’t taste a difference between the sample and the second. My son got a bag of rocks, and a few more little trinkets. The workers were very kind and overall it was a great little shopping trip!

We love this old place. The first place I have to visit when comming to Lancaster. Free Shoo Fly Pie, wounderful windmill building and childhood memories from 60 years ago. Pick up a Shoo Fly pie on the way out the door. I had to take my grandson here.

There are hardly words to describe this place, but I'ma try.For a start, it was open on a Sunday, in a highly religious community, so that's your first tell. Then, its attention-grabber is a glitzy windmill with swirling sails all decked out in lights, so that tells you something else. When you go in there are signs everywhere - about where to go, where to stand, what to buy, where to exit... it was interesting. The food is definitely the high point - try some shoo-fly pie, for sure, and maybe some whoopie pies or a slice of pecan pie - but the rest of the items are mainly tourist tat, many with very little connection to the region. I'd go back if I was in the area though.

Homemade furniture and some unique / homemade gifts mixed with your standard type souvenirs and gifts you would normally see. The best part is the homemade shoefly pies and assorted pastries! Also stronger than normal root beer :-) if the big windmill doesn't grab your attention as you're driving by then you need to turn around and go in and try some of the shoe fly pie!

I've been going here for years!!! One of my favorite places to go when I visit Lancaster..But, I would have to say the chocolate chip cookies and the Whoopi pies tasted old and were hard around the ends and the cookies just were so hard you can break your teeth. We went on Sunday evening. I guess we got all the left overs from Friday and Saturday. Don't know if I will go back.
