First visit to The Henry P. Robeson House and we were not disappointed! We had the crab and corn fritters as an appetizer which were very tasty. The chili and the French onion soup was fantastic and really hit the spot. Do not leave without getting a piece of their chocolate peanut butter cake! The peanut butter icing was light and delightful and not sickening sweet and the piece was HUGE! We will definitely be returning to the Robeson house for another meal!

Solid place. Our first time and we will be back. Street parking and a small lot behind the establishment. Plentiful servings of pit beef and half-rack ribs thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent smoke and spice rub flavor. Nice that a side salad is among their choices for sides (without an up charge). Nice beer selection. Restaurant tables amongst a nice large bar so active visually and with volume.

Had a warm Henry’s pretzel with their house made cheddar ale, perfection! Then if my meal couldn't already get any better, I was blown off my feet by a juicy slow smoked pulled ham sandwich that was out of this world! Service was top tier, and the food was even better! Highly recommend checking out this homey restaurant/bar if you’re looking for a delicious meal!

First time there since it has been under new owners. I liked it a lot I had the open faced roast beef sandwich with gravy an mashed potatoes an corn fritter with crab an corn in it an a dipping sauce came with it they were awesome an the beef was thinly sliced but very tender an delicious an a lot of meat on it. I will go back an eat there again. Everyone that went with us said everything was really good as well. Chicken Oscar, Crabcake, fries with cheese an Gravy an a Chicken sandwich were all the things that were ordered in our party.

Went here for dinner with a group of 5. We had Cori as our waitress and could tell pretty early that the service would not be great. Asked for a beer menu and she told us it was on the wall on the far side we couldn’t see. Ultimately some of the group received drinks but some had to ask twice. After asking, I still never received my beer but we were charged for it.Food itself was great, pierogis as an appetizer were delicious and I had the bbq chicken sandwich.Cori did not really check in and we waited a bit for our check. When she came over to ask us about it she asked how we wanted our check and we asked if she could split it two ways. Big mistake. We received an eye roll to our table before she walked away and took about 15 minutes to get the check. We asked her to correct it and take off the beer that we never received. She wouldn’t come back and ultimately another waiter was kind enough to help us pay our checks so we could leave and one of the waiting families could have our table. If we had him as our server, I’m sure we would have had a better experience as he seemed kind.Ultimately this could be a great place if the service would improve or at least be respectful.

We recently tried dining here and immediately loved the atmosphere, service, and made from scratch food. No frozen hamburger patties here. Their patty melt is the best I've had in a long time. Definitely try the Henry P. Robeson House. I recommend it highly and plan on returning soon. Our waiter was truly exceptional personable young man too. Unfortunately I didn't get his name.

Waiter was excellent, checked back in a timely manner to make sure everything was good and check if we needed anything made us feel welcome and at home, the food which arrived quickly and was nice and hot and the portions were generous, dollar value of the food was excellent. This was our second visit in two weeks the above comment applies to both visits, one with family and one with friends. Very enjoyable dining visit and we well be back again for certain.

Excellent waitress. Delicious food. We had the mussels and the roasted Brussels sprouts bsthed in a balsamic vinaigrette. Also, the tasty HPR bowl made with breaded chicken chunks, based potatoes and corn drizzled with a brown sauce. Wonderful time!

First time visit today... we tried the Pit burger special (was actually carved beef from the cooker/smoker from out back) and Mom Mom's Corn pie. The burger was delicious! You should try it! The added Cole slaw was so good, we asked for an extra container to take home. And Mom Mom's Corn pie is just a big ol' warm hug of greatness. Our wait staff member Natascha was also really friendly.

First and foremost I get it. It’s a Saturday night and you’re busy. However, as a party of seven we arrived at around 5:00 PM. We were promptly seated which was great. From there it was pretty much downhill. It took about 30 minutes for us to even have a drink order taken. At this point the tables surrounding us had cleared out and new guests were seated. At the hour mark those tables had their food while we still waited. We asked the waitress what was happening with our food. She said “I’ll go check” and then we watched her go over to the POS and put our order in because she clearly forgot to.When I raised concerns about our food still not being out at the 90 minute mark it was blamed on the computer system. Finally at the two hour mark we received half of our food. It took another 20 mins or so for everything to finally come out. When I expressed my disappointment and asked if I could speak to the manager (call me Karen all you want. Two hours of waiting for food is unacceptable) I was told the manager would come over. A woman then came over blaming the kitchen staff (not the computer system) for the time it took for the food to come out. Again expressed my disappointment that now we are getting multiple stories. I was told the owner would come talk to us. This same woman returned five minutes later and said he was offering a free round of drinks and he refused to come talk to us. I was nothing but calm and collected with your staff. I was respectful and was not given the same respect in return. I’m genuinely confused as this place has nothing but great reviews. Surely the owner of this establishment would want to talk to patrons and engage in conversation if there’s a problem but he refused. Can’t say I’ll be coming back even if the food was actually good. This place is now ruined for all of us.

Update: My daughter and I went here on a Wednesday night. I had the open-faced pit roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes on the side. Absolutely delicious!Excellent! Smoked meatloaf was really good, they even had old fashioned Pennsylvania Dutch corn pie!Service was great, we sat at the bar.

Tried this place for the 1st time tonite...and we won't be going back! Waitress took our order and then disappeared...thank goodness for the guy tending bar - he took over the rest of the duties. We had soup - that was delicious! We ordered the wing 'special', we were asked Bleu cheese or ranch - we weren't told there was a $2 charge/each for the dip. The wings were small and not flavorful. There's a charge on your bill if you're paying with credit that isn't explained to you. We paid with cash. Looks cute and inviting from the outside...don't waste your money!!!

So they are brand new so I will say that it was overall great! I would recommend for sure! Our server was fun and friendly and the kitchen pumped out great food! I highly recommend the burger, or the pit beef sandwich! Crab cakes are also great and made fresh!The owners checked on our table personally and made us feel welcome, the staff was super friendly and the food was great! Drinks came out fast and accurate, great selection of beers on tap as well!The only negatives were our one appetizer came out burned, and a plate had pickles that wasn’t supposed to and it ruined the bottom of a burger bun with all the juice. BUT they were super fast to remedy the issues and extremely nice about it. They made sure to make it right quickly and as easy for us as possible.We will definitely be going back, if you’re looking for good food, friendly staff and something new this is a great place to try!

So, the food was awesome honestly. And my family enjoys going, so I've come with them a few times. Never had any issues, and Tammy the bartender is truly a GREAT person to have on board. I love seeing her. But tonight we had a shorter Blonde waitress, I never caught her name. Christty or something? She never told us, but she was training a guy tonight. Anyways, she was fine in the begining but she forgot my mom's meal and when we brought it to her attention she didnt say sorry or anything, just said she was "doing too much" then walked away, didnt check on how the food or anything was, and left my parents cups empty the whole time. Another waitress told tammy and she came by and got everyone refills and desert and cleared the plates. The blonde to me, was terrible. Its not hard to stay aware and ask someone else to check on tables. Or help. She wasnt the least intrested. I'd rather have tipped Tammy then her but I didnt want to be rude. I would be asking for a different waitress if we go back and get her. I know she was "busy" but talking to the owner the whole time and looking lost doesnt cut it as "busy" to me. She would make it a one star, but Tammy cleaned up her mess and the food was excellent. So its a 4.

Wow! We have been watching the transformation of the Henry P. Robeson House and have been very impressed with the masterful way they retained so many of the original architectural details while expanding and updating the building to accommodate a modern professional kitchen. That was exciting in itself - and then we sampled their dinner menu and the evening became an event. Quite easily the most melt-in-your-mouth beef I have ever enjoyed, with a savory well-layered gravy and a side helping of pickled hot peppers that added just the right balance of heat and texture to the bites I stole from my husband’s plate. I had the daily special, a pot pie that in theory should have had a similar flavor profile but that in reality was a completely different experience and that hit all the right notes as well. The servers seemed to work as a team to ensure that we were all well taken care of and that our experience was nothing short of amazing. I am already dreaming of the pulled ham and the peanut butter chocolate pie for our next visit. Thank you Duane and staff, I loved it all!

WOW! This place has so much charm and DELICIOUS food. I tried several things and each item was so satiating! The french onion soup is the BEST I have ever had, there was a slight sweetness to it, I'm not sure if they use Vidalia onions or added a bit of honey but it made the soup wonderful, the cheese was baked to perfection and the slight saltiness of it in contrast to the sweetness of the broth was a match made in heaven.I also tried the crab and corn fritters which are a delectable little nosh, the dipping sauce that is served with them is finger dippin good!My main course was a fried chicken mashed potato bowl with corn and gravy and was the ultimate comfort food, the chicken was perfectly fried. With each bite I took of each course I know I was closing my eyes and making the most ridiculous faces and sounds of enjoyment but it was too good not to express it!The portions were perfect, not too little not too much. The entire staff was so friendly and each of the owners stopped by our table to see how we were enjoying our food. The history of the building definitely adds to the atmosphere and every patron looked stoked to be there! I will 100% be dining here regularly!

So, after a not so great experience beyond management control over a week ago, my wife and I were contacted by one of the owners, "Jimmy" who invited us back for another dining visit on the house. After a pleasant talk on the phone, we agreed to return on a later date.This evening (08/24/2023), we decided that since we were going to be in the area, we would stop out for dinner. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and seated at a nice big table. There was plenty of room; place to put my cane, and it was comfortable. We were immediately met by Duane, one of the owners and Jimmy. They again were apologetic and reiterated that our dining experience this evening is on the house.They summoned the waitstaff, and he took our drinks; Coke and Frezh Brewed Iced tea. After the drinks came, he took our orders: My wife had the Pub burger with fresh cut fries, and I had the absolutely phenomenal roast beef; mashed potatoes, and we both had creamed corn. The food was fresh, hot, and unbelievably flavorful! My wife could not finish her burger it was so big! I; however, somehow finished my meal with just a little room to spare 😁The waitstaff suggested the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing... Freshly homemade! Had to take that home as It was a generous piece! What a wonderful experience we had this evening, and my wife and I must thank Duane, Jimmy, and the waitstaff for an exceptional experience... all these words, just don't do them justice! Went here for the first time and the service and food was amazing. Although it was busy for a Wednesday night our waitress gave great service and recommended the adult slushies. I had the smothered chicken which was juicy and perfectly cooked and a crock of french onion soup. My uncle said The Pit Beef sandwich was amazing. Thank you for a great birthday meal. Will be back.

I got the crab cake and rib combo and I was disappointed in both for the price of$26. The crab cake was small and no lump meat, and the ribs were small and dry with hardly any meat and way over rubbed with spices and bbq sauce. First time there and probably won’t be back.The atmosphere was loud our party of 7 couldn’t hold decent conversations due to the loud music and tv’s.
