I personally have never had a bad experience in this establishment. I come here mainly for the Welch's grape juice and fruit cups but the store has a lot to choose from and feels comfortable to shop in.

The store is always closing for what they say is technical reasons. Especially on the 1st of the month. A day when their business is very very good. Plus the website says they are open.when in fact they are closed.The owners need to take better of this store.

Employee are friendly and helpful. Store has lots of stuff for your house. And there food and drinks are fairly cheap. They also have a good selection of Christmas gifts and decorations. There open early and close late. In joy shopping here.

I took the time to upload some images for future drivers that deliver to this store. They've cleaned up the back of this store quite a bit.FD Drivers: The 2 far right permit parking spots (closest to your driver side door when parked to the dock) can't be occupied, you're gonna have to figure out who owns them and have them move if they are. To get the trailer semi flush with the dock, you're not going to be able to if there are cars there.It's a blind side back, you'll have to go out into the street and up over the parking lot.Best route is down Franklin St, turn left onto 9th and left again onto Cherry Street, it's literally the first parking lot on the right on Cherry St.

This store is always a hit or miss. You might find what you need but the store is never fully stocked and sometimes messy and unorganized. The workers here are nice and try to be speedy but there’s only ever one lane open to checkout and the line is always long and slow. If you’re just trying to be quick and run in and out this location may not be for you. But to each it’s own.

guessing this is for the location on Penn St. The condition of the store was sad. The aisles are narrow, cluttered, dirty, and dingy with a number of merchandise displays tagged with really wrong prices. This does not create a come back again or spend more money now environment. The cherry on top was definitely the employees. Their first classy demonstration was using the pa to tell the people in aisle 7 to stop stealing and opening stuff. Quickly followed with a get out now just leave and the police are on the way they'll make you stop. Oh but wait I digress maybe the real creme de la cream was when 2 items from a big display priced for ONE DOLLAR rang up as 3.00. I was informed that the price is 3.00 and that nobody took the ad down so I had to pay for it. I questioned them and told them that at Muhlenberg they honor the price displayed. They informed me that they were not going to do that. I am not pleasedNot at all.

Terrible place to shop or work because everyone there looks like they hate their job. Where do they find these managers. She was like the Grinch, she only looked happy when she came to argue with me. No customer service here. You can ask an employee for help and they stand there and look at you funny. But let someone walk in with a shopping bag they'll chase you down.

Very nice place had lots of things for your family, home, yard, food, toy's, gift ideas, and so much more. Price's are not too bad, but some things are a little expensive. But this is in the city so you can always expect to pay a little more.

This place always has a bunch of people hanging out front asking for change or falling asleep right in front of the doors. I don't recommend this place at all... Even though the employees are helpful and courteous this store needs some major improvements... Especially the surroundings of the store.

I went into the store today to make a simple purchase no big deal. The store was trashy to start off with. No organization what so ever. There were also pretty many customers in there and only 1 employee. Oh and guess what, when i needed to ask for assistance finding something the employee didn't speak any English what so ever. Will not be going back to shop ever again

Good staff and they are trying but you can't dgame that staff when they have been robbed, threatened, and dealing with addicts in they face more than customers....I get it i do but still they are ppl too. Don't like it then go else where. Would u wanna stay open till 10pm with no security and addicts of the night just waiting to kill one if them employees for money and a fix

Every time i visit this location. There is one employee named Patrice with the worst attitude and poor customer service skills.for example last night after I get out of my job which I also work and retail I walk 5 minutes down to the family Dollar on Penn Street I walk in I greet them I put my bag behind the counter I go do what I need to do I look I see what I need to purchase which is a prepaid cell phone for my seven-year-old birthday and I politely excused myself in front of the other customers and asked if what she had a bowl bit if she could unlock the kids so I could get the phone. She did not answer me with a yes or maybe or no she just stared at me. So I walked away as I continue to shopping I had asked another friend of mine who was with me to see if he could find somebody else he was working there that can help me purchase the phone. He happened to run into Patrice as well and she says I am the only one working here right now he says to her what is the attitude for she did not respond he walked away I found such a customer service representative all the floor who happily open up the cage and got the phone and regular. this woman named Patrice did not like that at all she threw a fit she was slamming stuff around on the counter add my experience is like this every time I go in .it is a parrot's me that this woman does not like her job does not like people I would rather be sitting at home with her group of cats that socialize with human beings.

Don't go in here unless you absolutely must, very disorganized, specially when you are trying to pay, the line is either super long, or you just have no idea where the line is for each register, the employees are too busy talking to each other to care about the customers, employees dont look very happy there & it probably has something to do with how unorganized it is. District manager needs to go in there and seriously work on this store and its setup .Also if you do go in there, dont buy anything that's glass like, they dont have any newspaper or ANYTHING to wrap up your stuff, so they just throw it right in the bag with the rest of your stuff.This store needs a lot of improvement.

My husband went to the store tonight. His total was 4.01 and he saw that there was a penny tray for if someone was short. He asked if she could help. She said to him "Not for you!.." He had to brake another bill for a penny. What kind of store are you running there. No customer service, disrespectful.... Worst family dollar in reading. Needs closed.

First girl I talked to did not speak English. Second girl I talked to, who I hope was not the manager, was ignorant and rude. It is a wonder how thos store makes any money with these girls "working." They should haved stayed home on welfare rather than get a job.

It was a good time. For the fact I haven't been there in a while. Same trees same crackhead outside enjoying the fresh air and dopefeens all gathered to formulate a way to father resources. Gotta live that wonderful place. ❤️

It is an awefull Store staring with The manager Elianna. Lines are horrible employees are always on there phone and there is an asst mngr there who treats the backroom as an hotel who barely speaks English. I went back there looking for the bathroom and came across and employee having sexual relations in the backroom. Like really? I have seen the Mngr many times in the back putting merchandise in boxes and taking it thru the back door and stuffing in it in a car. AND THEN THEY WONDER WHY PEOPLE STEAL if thr manager Elianna and everyone else does it why not them? As u can tell I do t live that far from this store. So I basically see and know everyone. The store is always dirty.. nothing is ever where it goes. The prices are wrong, always 1 cashier on and lines all the way back to chemicals. Someone needs to do something regarding this type of behaviour and or this store situaccions.. ugh. The only reason I come here is bc is near me but besides that I would never ever recommend this store to anyone.

Terrible conditions outside of the store everytime I stop in here I'm asked for money from people standing outside, people asleep falling over. This store is always busy with long lines. Do not expect to get in and out. Prices are ok, the store is usually unorganized. Staff is very rude and unprofessional here they only focus on gossiping with themselves when checking you out. Do not recommend.

Their no backpacks rule is stupid!!! Leave your bags at home or in your vehicle, but not always an option for me or people who depend on walking or taking the bus. Unprofessional staff 🤬, line is always slow, sometimes not fully stocked!!! Go elsewhere!!!

I went there 3 times this week and they did not have Scott paper towels available.. I asked them and they told me that they don't have anymore available that someone else was asking the same question... So there was no Scott paper towels since Sunday morning? what a coincidence don't you think ? And how about the rest of this week? They are not available yet? Buuuu!

Yes I was just at your store and they had the music blaring with a Bluetooth and when I complained to the manager they just ignore me and it was four or five other people that shook their heads I also want to complain there was another time the people stuck in shelves had their phones on and headsets and couldn't even return my request to move their stuff out of the way it's a dirty filthy nasty store and the people are rude

Hello i live down the block from your family dollar store at time the store doesn't be open it suppose to be at 7am? and it always take nearly 15min average everytime if im in a line majority of the time i come in, i feel the staff doest care of quick and easy service which is sad because it sometimes makes me not want to shop at your store when Family dollar store is around the corner from me

I go in there out if necessity and because most merch is actually cheaper there. But if i dont have to go in the family dollar on Penn, i dont. Theyre severly understaffed. Some of what staff does exist there are extremely rude and lacking in customer service skills. And theres always long lines at the registers. Dont step foot in the store if youre in a rush. Prices are great for the most part and i can always find what i need there.
