Horrible business. Went in to look for something, they did not have it, asked the "cashier" who was eating while "working", pretty sure she stole from her job. She pointed me somewhere and I did not find what I was looking for, so I left (as a NORMAL person does), next thing I know, AFTER I walk out, the same cashier told me that I was "not allowed" to go back.... in 2024 being this ignorant should be a sin. Lucky that I didnt catch her name to report this behavior but having this attitude towards people of the community can only get you so long in life.

The male cashier was very rude to my mother and made her feel embarrased and humiliated her and to know that she even apologized is absolutely disgusting. If you can’t understand what someone is saying how about you give them a paper and a pen and asked them to write it down. I would have loved to have been there to see the cashier giving my mom a hard time. Basically making her feel like she is illiterate and a burden because she was “holding up the line”. Disgusting behavior, I understood clearly what my mom was saying and so did the other employees at the other family dollar she went to after. If your coworker speaks spanish, you didn’t think of calling her up to help? You see how many scenarios I made that would work out. But no, the cashier decided to embarass and humiliate my mother while other customers were in line. This cashier obviously needs to go back to training.

This place is awesome! Great customer service and they know how to treat their employees. My husband works for Family Dollar and they pay 20.00 to start for cashiers with no experience, 28 for shift leaders and 35 for managers, plus double pay on Sundays and holidays. Great health insurance, zero deductible blue cross blue shield. They also get 200.00 worth of free stock every paycheck, 2 weeks pay vacation in the first 6 months, unlimited paid sick time(only 70% pay), day care subsidy, free college and student loan payment assistance of 1000 a month for part time and 2000 a month for full time.

What happened? You ran out if bags and had to close? The only store where 15,000 who don't drive rely to but food? The store where the whole 4th biggest city in PA relies on you to guy Halloween candy 2 days before Halloween. Where's your boss or their boss? They should drive in or fly in and be working? The citizens of reading deserve worst than the suburbs

Getting better with new management. Unfortunately, there are still always empty slots when i go to get many things.Also see staff hanging around chatting instead of stocking or cleaning. The store needs enough Tlc to keep employees moving their entire shift. It's literally 2 blocks from my house, but i often find myself going to the closest competitor due to lack of stock..

The most unfriendly, non customer service oriented location. Only one register open but employees are hardly at the register to tend to customers. Act as we, the paying customer are a burden. Isles are full of boxes throughout the store, thought that was illegal for safety reasons. I always say hello and thank you and they hardly ever say it back. I go here as a last resort when I don't feel like driving to the competition, which I always am quickly reminded on why I should shop elsewhere. Bad service and no personalities working there.

The worst!!! Always locked, staff is always outside smoking. Never has items out of the boxes and blocking aisles,shelves are always empty. No good customer service! They need to clean up house!!! The only location I know that is always closed and never has anything. Smh

Literally the worst store and management ever. There is absolutely no reason why it is 9:35am and 15+ people are waiting outside the store when operation begins at 8am. To then be told the person who has keys didn't show up. Unacceptable Sheila and Heidy.How do you expect people to want to be apart of your team when you don't even give a damn about your team or customer satisfaction.If I could rate lower I would.

By far the ghettoest family dollar i have ever been to! It says is open but twice I've gone there when it says its open and the doors were locked and people were standing outside in the cold confused as to why it was closed. Place is dirty and unorganized and the staff are rude 😒 I highly recommend going to another one. Don't waste your time on this one.

It was a total mess ( all the family size candy bags were on piles on the floor and there was a bottle of windex on the empty shelves) and the employees were just so nonchalant. Horrible customer service! When I asked if an item was in stock a young man pointed to his right and said,"You can check down these 2 aisles and see..."

Really unprofessional Managers! Rude, at all times, always looking like they hate their jobs. I'm confused on the uniforms.... It's just a hot mess, need to be restaffed maybe even under new management...

It is a good place to get a few things quick but it's still a small store and don't have as big a variety as other Family Dollars. It is an ok place depending on who is working and what time you go.

It's pretty good when looking for some frozen food or some snacks but let's say that you want need party supplied, well, this is not a good place for it but other than it's really good

Everytime this lady closes the store has to close early she doesn't understand English and she clueless once again I'm at the store at 3:45pm and the clerk is saying they are closed but cant say why. Since the new construction was done this place is the worse.
