BJs is one of two local, huge, bulk item, box stores.They have almost anything you could need or want - clothing, food, bed mattresses, small kitchen appliances, holiday decor, TVs, office supplies... Whatever is on the shopping list.My general observation is that you can get some occasional deals but the appeal is probably much more about the convenience for really stocking up on items.Don't need just one? You need a pack of 30? BJs is a great solution.The store is clean. Ample parking available. Their own branded gas station is right there. Wheelchair accessible automated doors. Handicap parking. Friendly staff.They have a lot of self check out stations when paying.No complaints about this BJs. It's good for when you need something.

Clean, well-lit. Roomy aisles. The recent online coupon function in the mobile app is wonderful. You can search for coupons before you leave home and list them on your phone, or you can check for them in real time when you show up. They move items around from time to time so some searching may be required even if you go regularly, and the signs at the end of the aisles are usually only on one end, not both. Restrooms are up front. Often only 1 or 2 registers are manned, the rest is all self checkout.

BJs says that they offer a military discount and if you go online you find military memberships for only $25.00 but that is where the hook the military and retirees. Once you join the next year your membership goes up to $50.00. Regular membership is $55.00. Not much of a membership considering that most of the merchandise that BJs is selling is their brand Berkley Jensen. They use to state that they will only carry the top three name brands for each product. That is no longer true. They can keep their $5.00.

Two young ladies assisted me as I forgot my card they were very courteous,caring and professional. There names were Vanessa at the service desk and Mia at the check out line. Bjs should be proud to have these two fine ladies employed there. Thank you very much Ladies,

I have been a BJ's member for years and always loved it. However, today I went to pick up my order. First of all, the young man did not put my order in the basket, he THREW THEM IN, one of the bags ripped. I had asked him if he could help me load them in my car, as some of it was very heavy and I'm not young anymore. He said he couldn't do it, he had other things to do, and then he walked away. I took my things out to the car and loaded them myself.

Hello.. Im a new member and recently just started going to Bjs. Yesterday after shopping and paying for my items I became faint. Angie a staff there helped me and I am forever greatful. She stayed with me until my aunt was able to come for me. She even fanned me, brought me water and a snack as I was sweating, dehydrated and confused. She also assisted with putting my items in her car as I was not able to drive myself home. I hope she sees this and you guys show her appreciation for going above and beyond.

I and/or my family have been a member of BJ’s since their door first opened. I am obviously bias, because I met my partner of 17 years from the Reading Store, therefore - I am loyal and indebted. But if you want bulk, the prices are good, but - Walmart is better in overall price, and product quality is better at Costco. The low gas prices is what kept me, but - Sheetz of late has been beating and dominating BJ’s! Also the opening of two Grocery Outlets in Muhlenberg & Shillington, several Aldi(s), and a Lidl, and of course my favorite Horning’s, is quickly undermining BJ’s without the need of bulk. The competition is fierce, and I am very surprised the store has lingered and not closed. Not having a food court anymore, is also a huge strike against it. Also many old familiar faces have disappeared, and I think regretfully we will be ending our membership in the foreseeable future. With regrets, because there are a lot of fond memories. BJs is ok, but if you go in comparing them to Costco, you'd be disappointed. This caters to a different demographic, but is still pretty good.This tends to have many more name brands, and many of the brands and things they have overlap with ALDI of all places. Is a lot of cases they are about the same price, or slightly less. Some more.Where you can REALLY save money is on things like laundry detergent, dish soap, paper products, etc. Also fresh meats and dairy is great. They have FAT BOY ice cream!!I really really DID NOT LIKE the self checkout. It kept asking us to put the item back into the bagging area. It was really getting frustrating. Also, I found no way to weigh and pay for my cantaloupe, so I left it there.They REALLY need to fix their self checkout.I went to get a drink at one of the vending machines out front, and I was grateful they had sparkling water (Perrier) in the machines, but I had a hard time getting them to work.

Terrible service. Bought tires through the website, said 2 day delivery but took a week. They canceled my first appointment to get tires mounted the day of. They canceled my 2nd appointment to get tires mounted and BJs didn’t bother to call me (I showed up and nobody was there). I finally took the tires to get them mounted somewhere else and 2/4 tires were defective with holes. Nobody seemed to care. I was told the Manager would call me and they never did. Go somewhere else, this place is awful

The store is unsanitary, there's roaches in the backroom, there's mice on the grocery side. Some of the boxes have mouse droppings. The ceiling leaks when it rains.

As long as I live, I will never step foot in BJ's again. I tried to cancel but they continued to bill me, even after three letters and two phone calls. Every month they added interest to my bill and totally ignored my letters.Beware of them! They are crooks!

Bj's has treated our family well. Whenever we were in need of a specific item we knew where to look. It's community and staff are polite and it is a quiet area. I never once had a problem with them. The parking area is unique as it has parking for families with children front before it's large parking for handicap. They also always have some reward system going with shopping before and pumping gas secondly. Their gas prices cannot be beaten!

Smelled like rotten produce throughout store. When I went to checkout "attendant needed" came on the screen. I watched the employee at the podium convince herself (took a minute or two) to come over and clear it from the screen without speaking a word n drag herself back to the podium ( so rude). The last time I will go to BJs. Not worth the frustration, Sam's Club 100% from now on.

Great customer service at checkout and curbside. I love the addition of the self checkout lanes, helps facilitate checkout. Any issues I’ve had, management has helped resolve it.

Worst store I ever ever been to, no cashier, faulty self service and rude associates. The manager was worse than the associates, I think that he even sent one associate to antagonize me because I was complaining on how horrible it was to use the self service, every time I will scan an item the belt will return it causing the associate to come and help, it took me forever to scan all my items.

Usually love tp come to BJs but today only thing i came for was almond milk and the one cooler out of three coolers wasnt working correctly and they saran wrapped them closed to keep the cool air in which is great except i could have not wasted time here if they had a sign outside that some coolers are down and we cant shop for certain items. Not very happy i made a specific trip and cant evem purchase the product i want. It was fixed pretty quickly and was a compressor being fixed. The manager Greg was very nice.

Great store and always enjoy my shopping except this morning the associate named Destiny H had a nasty attitude not only assisting us,but all the customer. The person's granddaughter next to me was on the belt and she pushed the box pinching the little girls hand luckily the box was not heavy box. Putting ppls items with an attitud . I hope someone takes action on this matter. If she is not happy she should stayed home. Us customers are the one giving you business to have to deal with miserable staff.

We visited Reading PA's BJ's today and asked for assistance to scan a heavy water box at the register, but the associate just said that they did not have a scanner and walked away! Very disrespectful attitude and none willingness to help clients! So upset for not even try to find a solution.

This place is awful. They only have 1 or 2 registers open on their busiest days and management is snobby and rude. They didn't have an item I wanted and instead of suggesting something similar, their one employee Leslye said "That sucks for you". Their only saving grace is their only male cashier named Airii or Ari (I apologise if I butchered your name), he was extremely friendly and helpful. He not only actually looked for my item but then suggested a store where they would definitely have what im looking for. I give this place 1 star but give that great young man 10 stars. If he quits that place, then they truly are an awful store.

Grocery delivery is done by a third party that BJ’s claims no responsibility for. So if this third party decides to shop for and deliver your order hours before the time frame you specifically request and have proof of choosing, your groceries will just rot at your front door until you can get home regardless. And if you try to contact this third party, they claim no responsibility because you placed your order through BJ’s and have no account with them. So, buyer beware if you attempt to use delivery to save a little time after work! Make sure you will be home allllll day just to wait for a randomized time of their choosing.

We purchaded apple cider donuts yesterday and they were marked sell by today. They were very stale and dry. Not tastey at all. We do enjoy shopping at BJ,s and shop often but were disappointed with this purchase.

I've been a member off and on for 20 years or so. This is a B-Grade store. My late father used to be a member at a location in Florida. That store had a deli and other goodies that this sup-par Reading store doesn't have.. They were always rude here. Must be the people of Berks County.UPDATE 13 October: there's nothing to love about this dreadful place.

We purchase a tablet that unfortunately died right after the warrantydied. The people at BJ's in Reading, PA were so helpful and nice.They replaced it with a smile. Can't ask for a better experience then that!!

Smaller club in older building is showing its age. Aisles poorly marked if at all. I DO NOT want to walk every aisle in the store every time I go there to find what I want! Recently they started moving items around to make it more difficult to find items. BJs is a good store, just Go to another location besides this one if you can.

It was good but I didn't like how fruits and meats weren't cheaper than anyone else and the earraping tvs located around the store. Expensive membership but worth it if you actually go there for your normal everyday items. Big store easy to find items by isle.

The girls on the frontline are very helpful and polite. Shopping here is always a good experience for me. I find everything that I need and some. I highly recommend shopping here and the customer service is top tier.

Their store brand of cat litter is awesome and really cheap. And the cats also like that we go through the Big Bin of boxes on the way out and bring them home a couple of new boxes each time
