The rescues I'm involved with recently started using this facility and we've been impressed. They're further than we would typically go, but they allow our volunteers to come and work with our dogs in addition to their staff handling them. They are kind, thoughtful and invested in the well being of our pups. We have been incredibly happy with their services and are thankful that a facility with such wonderful staff exists!

Acorn Valley is wonderful for both boarding and grooming! The staff is amazing and always takes such great care of my dog. The facility is very clean and safe for the the animals in their care! My dog gets regular grooming done and she always looks fantastic! Prices are very reasonable but more than that you can be rest assured that your pet, from dogs to cats to bunnies, birds and others will be well taken care of! Highly recommend!

The staff at Acorn Valley are incredible. We were nervous to leave our stranger-fearful adopted dog for the first time. We had received a recommendation from a trusted trainer and behaviorist for Acorn Valley so we went for a tour. Every single person we spoke with made us feel at ease. The staff are all clearly animal lovers with lots of experience. We left our little guy for 6 days and 7 nights. We received email updates with photos which helped us relax on our vacation knowing that he was OK. He even made his first human friend outside of the family (Sam, you're so kind and patient- we love this photo of you guys)!!!! He was also able to play with all of the other dogs every day which made it like a little vacation for him too :) Thank you all SO MUCH! We are so grateful that your facility exists!!!

This place is a godsend! We have a dog with special needs(reactive) as well as a cat and we can always depend on them to take excellent care of our furbabies. They alleviate so much worry!

I took my 2 healthy dogs here for boarding on July 26, 2023. When we picked them up on July 30, they were in bad shape. I have never had my dogs come home smelling the way they smelled after this visit. We gave them a bath before letting them in the house. My older dog had an infection in both eyes, almost sealing them shut. I realize this facility is not a veterinarian, however, a phone call to let me know there was a problem would have been appreciated. That was just the start of the problem. My older dog was mopey and continued to deteriorate after this stay. She developed internal bleeding from unknown causes, this could have been a tumor, but it also could have been trauma, we will never know. She passed away on August 9. She had a vet visit on July 14 at which the doctor noted her outstanding health for a 10 year old dog. I feel strongly they were mistreated by the kennel staff and I would not recommend this facility to anyone. We have taken our dogs here for several years, but I most certainly will NOT be returning.NOTE: I could not post this review without giving at least one star, otherwise I would not have given any stars.

I have boarded my dog at Acorn Valley for several years now. Everyone there is helpful, truly love dogs and are helpful and understanding even with an anxious dog like mine! I highly recommend them for kennel stays!

Our family's dogs have been going here for years. The people there clearly love the animals and our dogs are always happy to see them! They always give us updates when we pick them up and let us know if anything happened. Thank you for caring about our pets!

My puppy ended up there on an emergency basis. They were very kind and made room for her even contacting me what they had a cancellation and could keep her longer than I originally scheduled for but ended up needing. She came back happy spelling like a kennel and one chick on her. I don't blame the tick on them as they are out in the country and regardless of how often they spray the deer come through and drop ticks daily. In fact that there only was one on her I'm happy. Apparently my tick medication failed me.

Excellent! Impeccably clean. Very well run. Great hours. Reasonable price.Over the years, I have boarded both dogs and cats.....they have excellent kennels for both. The staff is attentive and they make an effort to know your pet. They also offer extra services such as, offering walks for the dogs, baths before pick-up. Each boarded cat is allowed roaming time out of their large kennel. I searched for a while for a reliable kennel. Once I found Acorn Valley, I have become a regular customer.

Acorn Valley is the best place to take your animals for grooming. Their prices are reasonable and the staff is excellent. My dog has anxiety and they still accept her even though she acts crazy. So make sure you tip these ladies for their excellent job. Love Ava Miller ( The anxious white dog)

My family and I recently went on a mini vacation that was not pet friendly. We emailed a few kennels and found Acorn to be extremely communicative and email freindly. We dropped our 8 month old fur baby for a 4 day stay. Cindy was receptive to our calls checking in on Lukas and provided us tons of reassuring details. We will be back.

I have an anxious dog so I am always hesitant about leaving him but he does really well at Acorn Valley. They are always so nice when we call in check on him, and accommodating with pickups schedules etc. He's always happy to see us when we pick him up, and he never ever has that vibe of having been nervous or anxious. I like the cage-free style.

We love bringing our boxer/pit mutt out here and the staff are great. They know our dog by name and recognizes him each time he comes back (and he's not there that often). Would highly recommend to anyone. We drive up from Philly to board here. Great care for a decent price.

I have used this boarder for over three years to watch my two dogs while I am out of town and have never felt the need to comment or complain about the place. They are cheap and I guess you get what you pay for. I dropped my dogs off for a simple overnight. I pick them up the next afternoon and the woman behind the counter, almost jokingly, informs me that my one had ripped off a nail and they don't know when or how it happened but they cleaned and bandaged it. I am immediately concerned and upset "why wasn't I called?" " how do you rip a toenail off in a concrete kennel?" I walk back to the kennels to gather the dogs and she continues with this lighthearted attitude about the whole situation not one ounce of empathy or even a simple apology. I get the dogs home and take a look at the bandage which is completely urine soaked. The moral of the story is this place is cheap for a reason. These people are completely incompetent and should not be allowed unsupervised around animals. I hope by me writing this review it will help at least one person stay clear of this place for their dogs sake.

We boarded our dogs at Acorn boarding for 9 days at the end of October. We had a German Shepherd and small terrier. The day we picked up our dogs, we were absolutely shocked about our shepherd. She had so much trouble walking. They told us they had to wash her blanket a couple times, it was stinky. We think she urinated on it. They said, you know, she is an old girl. All this was shocking, this was not the dog we left here 9 days ago.We got Chloe home and had to assist her just to stand up and she fell getting up our deck stairs. We called 2 hours later to see what had happened there. They said she was slow to stand up and we put extra blankets down to help her be more comfortable. We didn’t understand, we left emergency numbers for a reason. She was urinating on herself, again this was not our dog. We were so upset. I thought we did this to her from the stress of boarding her. Her hind quarters seemed smaller, almost like she lost muscle mass. I ran to store to buy chondrotin and spent the night massaging her legs doing anything we could to help herBy Monday I knew something was seriously wrong. We took her to the emergency vet. She had lost 8 lbs since her September visit. They told us she had free fluid in her abdomen and suspected an infection. We didn’t know how bad it was. It could have been in her bloodstream. We just didn’t know. So the choice was an very expensive surgery to remove the infection. With no guarantee if it had spread to her blood. I’m a nurse. I know exactly how deadly sepsis is. So our choice was surgery or let her go. It felt selfish to do surgery on a 10 year old dog.... that was for us, not her. So we decided to put her to sleep. So 36 hours after we picked her up, we put her to sleep.Devastated and heartbroken was an understatement. I called the kennel that Friday when I could talk without sobbing. I talked to the office manager. . And of course I started sobbing which made her cry too. Her responses felt very genuine. I told her, I didn’t think this was intentional but I believe with all the signs and symptoms Chloe had, someone should have seen something was wrong. I believe you cared for my pets, but signs were missed. I asked if the kennel would be willing to contribute toward the vet bill. I knew for moral reasons, not legal reasons. She said she couldn’t make that decision. But she would talk to the owner. She would call over to Quakertown vet and get total bill balance.8 days later she returned my call. I had called a couple times during week. She told me that unfortunately with what Chloe had, it didn’t show symptoms until it was too late and they said no to contributing toward the bill. I gave permission to get balance was unaware they reviewed her records. Then I found out from the manager the vet is somehow affiliated with Acorn boarding. I don’t think this was the office manager’s decision. decision. It was the owner’s thoughtless decision. I’m sure for legal protection of the business. I still put my dog down 36 hours after I picked her up from your care. Really?? I made it clear, I wasn’t looking to file a lawsuit. I’m not an idiot, dogs are considered property so it’s not like I was looking for thousands of dollars, nor would I have gotten it. It wouldn’t bring Chloe back. And we would never be able to put a $ amount on our love for her.it wasn’t about the money. We felt signs of her illness were blamed on her age. This was about the principle of it. I will never be able to put my dog here again.

Great location, they treat our dogs well. Love they can be boarded together. They also do a good job grooming where we have had issues with other locations in the past.

I'd give no stars if it was an option. I used to board my two dogs here frequently because they were "affordable." Ya get what ya pay for, a trash hole of a boarding facility. I got a phone call the day I landed to pick up my dogs with them saying there was an incident. Apparently the one dog had torn the pad of his paw without them having any inkling of how it happened. They wrapped it up and said he was good to go, no issues. Lo and behold, after going to the er, we found that the pad was detached and he had a broken leg. We confronted Acorn's staff after visiting Quakertown hospital and they simply had no answers for us. They refused to allow me to speak to the person responsible for the incident. This business should cease operations. Please, do not allow your fur kids to visit here.

Kind, professional and friendly staff. Not only do they always do a great job grooming, but we have been boarding our dog here on occasion for 9+ years and there's never been a problem. Highly recommended!

We've been a seven year customer of Acorn Valley. We picked our dogs up today, and got home to find that our biggest dogs harness (full body one, she does therapy visitations) was very clearly cut on the strap that runs from her neck to the back of the harness.Cindy at the shelter told me they don't keep scissors in the building and outright claimed I was lying and that she "didn't know what to tell me". I offered to send a photo but it was declined. To make matters worse, one dog is running a very high fever and all three dogs are pacing, whining, and go out every few moments to use the bathroom.I feel that any establishment or person that will lie about little stuff will lie about significant things. The harness isn't a huge deal, if they had to cut her if she was caught for her safety I wouldn't be upset or expect them to replace it. But paired with the dogs voracious thirst and appetite (three bowls of water and home for three hours..) I'm wondering if care here has gone extremely down hill. Because of the accusation and the dogs appearance and health I won't be returning and I highly recommend that others do not as well.
