We have been taking our little yorkie here for years and she always does a great job and is very nice. We go out of our way to come here since we moved a few years ago, but we trust her and woukdnt want to switch. Five stars!

I stopped by this place to make an appointment for my dog Tyson. The woman told me she was not accepting any new customers. So why be open for business. I hope it wasn't because I'm black. She was rude and nasty and wouldn't trust her to take out my garbage.

I have been dealing with Poochies for years this is a wonderful establishment. I have two tiny divas who don’t even know there really dogs. Carol and her staff understand there very spoiled and know they are treated like babies at home. Carol also spoils them when there in her care she hugs and kisses them. They always come back perfect. She does a wonderful job. I never have to worry when I pick them up because I know they will look fabulous. Carol thank you always doing a wonderful job !!Also she has a wonderful Selection of bows and nails polish for all the gals.

Miss Carol is awesome!!!! She’s wonderful as a person and even better as an animal lover!!!! I live in Maryland and I still take that drive every six weeks for her to groom my dog and I have done this for four years and I refuse absolutely refuse to go anywhere else!!!!!

They did a wonderful job with our little yorkie mix, we are very happy with her cut and the service in general. Our dog is typically a bit anxious away from home but we felt like they did a great job taking care of her. I don't plan on taking Ellie anywhere else!Thank you!

I have gone to Poochies for about 25 years. I went to them when they were on Welcome Avenue, in Norwood. I believe I was one of their first customers when they moved from Philadelphia. I have taken my dogs there all these years and have never been disappointed once! Carol is a caring loving person who takes great pride in her work. Her staff is wonderful she has a great selection of clothing bones Etc. My two little puppies are Yorkie and Shih Tzu and Yorkie and Bichon she did a fabulous job would recommend her highly. Thank you Carol for always doing an exceptional job on my babies. You are the best! Kathy

I did not like that my yorkie was cut bald at the top of her head.I let Carol the owner know not to cut her ponytail n she cut it anyway.When I made Carol know n I sent her pictures of the top of my dog head...Carol didnt even bother by giving me at least some or all my money back.I will never recommend Poochies to anyone.

i don’t like to write bad reviews on local businesses, but i am very frustrated. i have not heard such great things about this place, but i decided to try them out anyway & scheduled an appointment over a week ago. when i called, she asked how big & i said 25 pounds (he’s mostly fluff because he’s a pomsky). we bring him there & she instantly looks at him and says “ohhh i can’t groom him. he’s too big.” when scheduling an appointment with someone, the person confirming should make it very clear that they do not groom dogs bigger than a certain weight. otherwise, i would not have wasted my time scheduling my dog to come here, physically bring my dog here, & then scramble to try to find someone else who will take him same day. poor communication.

I moved from Philly to Delco and was never able to make an appointment for years. Was recommended by someone who also had a Shih Tzu and loved that it is convenient to my home. Since Covid I know they are not taking any new clients but was at least hoping to get on a waitlist for my little girl. Never receive a callback.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Carol and Poochies. I have been going there for 7 years now with 3 dogs. They are very professional, courteous and responsive to your needs. Please do not confuse this grooming salon with Perfect Paws in Norwood.

Stumbled across this gem. After moving from Philly we needed a new groomer in the area. We tried a couple of others that were beyond horrible. Poochies is our new favorite groomer. I love that they have all kinds of goodies in the store as well.

Horrible! The woman who works there said that they don't clean pit bulls!! Are you kidding me! That's disgusting and rude to say!!!! My 2 year old puppy is the sweetest dog and they won't even consider him because he is a PIT BULL. I hope they lose a ton of business! Ughhh can not believe that!

If you are looking for a dog groom... DO NOT, I repeat... DO NOT go to poochies on Chester pike. They left my 11lb 10month old puppy half cut and totally chopped. Saying that they could not finish because he won’t sit still and is scratching. When I arrived to pick him up, they said he is vicious and needs to be put down or get a tranquilizer if you ever want to cut him.They are totally unprofessional, to not only speak like that but to leave a job half complete! He is a shih tzu puppy, Yes he scratches, clearly that’s why I am taking him to be groomed. This is your job!You shouldn’t be in business if you can’t handle a 11lb shih tzu.They are rude, heartless, unprofessional ladies and should not be in Business! Who tells someone to put your puppy down at 10months, a cold hearted person. Please keep your babies away from poochies, I am not the first or last complaint they have had.

Took my dog to this salon. He’s 1 years old. Had a disagreement with owner because I was originally told $10-20 extra for matted fur, I get to the place & the price changes to $20-30 extra then my dog gets finished being cut & is now $50 extra without being told. I told them I was coming to get my dog to discover my dog has a blood clot in his left eye which she could not explain and said to me a word that I researched & it has to do with diabetes, also when I got home I looked underneath my dogs neck and he has redness as if his collar was too tight. For some reason now my pup is having tinkle accidents which he has NEVER DONE BEFORE AT HOME. While out, Yes because he’s not in a familiar environment so he may have an accident but NEVER AT HOME. I was NOT INFORMED of my dogs injuries before I came into the store. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!!!!! Also they said that they gave him a bath & they did not. Never again

Scheduled I called to confirm and they told me that they made a mistake and cant do them today. If I had not called I would have shown up. My last visit they had the dogs from 8:30 am until 4:00. I decided to overlook them being gone the whole day but today was unacceptable.They mentioned they were a lot of work and did not want to deal with them. I am ok with that but do you think someone could have called. especially since I also left a message last evening.'
