Amazing place despite the hills! They took us in like family when we had to be in the area for a surgery. They treated us like family and we hated to leave. Staff, every last one of them was friendly and caring. Fridge died while there and they had a place for all our food! Activities were fun, park was very clean and the pool was superior! We always felt safe too! We will be back! Thank you Bear run!!

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Bear Run Campground in Portersville, PA. The campground has a beautiful setting. It is a very clean and well-run operation which made our stay enjoyable, from check-in to amenities. Without a doubt, Bear Run Campground deserves a glowing 5-star review for their beautiful location, exceptional management, and relaxing environment.

We were VERY happy with our stay in the Eagle’s Nest cabin at Bear Run campgrounds this weekend! The cabin was extremely clean, every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly, the location is perfect for going to Moraine State Park, and the on-site amenities are super family-friendly (our boys loved the mining, arcade, & hand scooped ice cream)! This was our first visit, and we’ll definitely be back!

We were at bear run this past weekend for July 4th. When a bad storm hit and we got flooded. Tent areas C2 (worst) C4. I would not recommend those spots if forecast is calling for rain. This happened on a Saturday and our tent started filling with water. The crew and owner went above and beyond. They put all of us up in a rental camper for the rest of our trip. The flooded area was mixed with sewage (yuck). They cleaned our clothes and blankets. Delivered it to our new location. They soaked and disinfected our tent and it looked amazing, like brand new. They Refunded our money back for our sites immediately when it happened and of course did not charge us for the rental. They tended to all our needs and were very responsive. All toll, it was in general a horrible weekend to camp due to weather (no one’s fault) and we lost two air mattresses and a few other replaceable possessions but, it could have been worse. We will be back again. Just not at those sites! I would recommend at least C2 be non rentable to spare campers and staff alike the headache in the future. Thanks Bear Run owner and staff for taking care of us and salvaging our trip!

Got the family together for a weekend camp trip and had so much fun at Bear Run! Staff was super friendly and so helpful with any questions you might have. We rented primitive walk-in sites and they were perfect, private, and relaxing! They also have a little gem mining station that our son loved, he had so much fun getting to play in the dirt and water! The pool and playground were nice and clean as well, our nephews had a blast being able to swim! Also the arcade was a nice little stop to play some pool and entertain the older kids for a bit! Overall, I was so impressed with this campground and will definitely be back soon! Super family-friendly and an awesome place to camp if have little ones! Highly recommend!

We drove from Ohio to get here! Never been here but it was my birthday and it was a surprise getaway. We rented the Blue Heron cabin and it was amazing! Very clean and well kept campground with in ground pool. So many activities that they have a itinerary. Fun for all ages! We went labor day weekend and had a blast. We will be coming back and recommending people! Thanks again Bear Run Management and Staff.Playground: Whole area dedicated to kids and outdoor activities.Restrooms: Very clean and well maintained!Dog-friendliness: Everyone had dogs here but none were a problem or nuance.

We stayed here while my sister-in-law was recovering from surgery in Pittsburgh. My biggest complaint would be the weather for the first week, which was terrible. Obviously, that's no reflection on the campground, just the way it was. The second week more than made up for it with beautiful blue cloudless skies every day.The campground is huge, with a large section in the far back for primitive camping. We walked around that area and it is simply beautiful. The middle section has cabins and a large area for seasonal camping. There weren't many people using that section yet, but I can imagine that it is a lot of fun in the summer when there are lots of families there. We stayed in the short-term area at the front of the campground, where there are some gravel and some paved sites. These sites are a bit close together, and for us, the picnic table was more in the way than useful, but it wasn't that bad.The staff is very friendly and worked hard to accommodate our stay, enabling us to stay at one site the whole time instead of having to move around. It is a family-run business and everyone there seems to really enjoy working there. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, this will definitely be our campground of choice.

Stayed there this past weekend across from the horse pasture. Had to leave early because a massive fight broke out between one of the cabins across the road and the site next to us.One of the younger males there pulled a small 22 handgun and fired it at their tent. We called the front desks security number with no answer. Then called the police.Had to sneak away to meet the officer at the front gate at something after two in the morning and walk back with them to the site. The group didn't answer the cabins door so the officer also tried calling the security number with no answer.Had the officers escort me and my family to the front gate after they checked on the family next to us. One officer stayed behind and one rode with us so we could leave. Last year they had. Security officer that watched over us, now they have nothing. This campsite isn't safe period.

For more then 5+ years I been goinging to this campsite! I have many memories in this campsite with my friends and family. Theres many activities like swimming, playing in the playground, shopping and many more to list! One of my favorites is the arcade. It would be nice if you guys would add more arcade games. I love you Bear Run Campsite!!!❤

The campground is nice. We rented a travel trailer, very clean and comfortable. The staff though, is beyond excellent! They were supportive, kind, attentive and just so super helpful. I will stay again, trying one of the other travel trailers. Great place to bring your family.

We loved our stay at Bear Run campground! We stayed in the Eagles Nest Delux Pet Friendly Cabin! We absolutely loved this cozy cabin and had a blast. Very clean and had everything we needed. This campground is one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve been to. Lots of activities and nice trails nearby for hiking. The staff was also very friendly.

Thank you Bear Run! We were first time visitors and definitely will be back. I really enjoyed meeting Todd and making my booking over the phone for one of your primitive camping sites. When the weather took a freakishly cold turn for this time of year, you managed our upgrade to a cabin quickly with short notice. The "Brownie" cabin was a perfect fit for our needs on a cold night. We even got to enjoy the primitive campsite on our return journey of traveling. The bathhouses were well lit and heated. The rules were respected and campsites clean. A huge thumbs up from happy campers!

Camped this week in our 5th wheel. Confirmed our reservation over the entrance speaker and a staff member lead us to our site within 1-2 minutes. He helped us position our camper to accommodate slides. Great service. Rental kayaks too.

Was expecting a bit more but all in all it wasn't a terrible experience. Our site was extremely small and was on a downhill slope. The pad that the camper sat on was level but the grassy area was tiny. We had to be even more careful with our fire because 1) it was close to our camper (roughly 3-4 feet away) and 2) our kids could have easily slipped while playing in the grassy area and fallen into the fire. Thankfully our children have a general knowledge of fire safety so it wasn't a huge issue. They also require vet records for any dog in the camp site. Unfortunately I missed that requirement prior to check in (my fault, not theirs) so our dogs had to stay in the camper the whole weekend. The playground is pretty big and the pool area seemed nice. We didn't swim so I don't have an actual opinion besides that.

Good family campground. Was in lower sites. Night security guard was very odd tho would sit in golf cart parked across from site staring at us. Very uncomfortable, will not return due to that. Other than that it was nice but when adults are sitting quietly talking around a fire being stared at is very uncomfortable with the amount we paid to go.

Campers *need* to know what they're getting into coming to this "campground"...*Will continue to edit this review like a in the coming days. (I know their digital presence will start replies quickly..) But bottom line, the owner has a penchant for putting folks 6" from one another and watching like some puppet master experement in his tiny space he devotes to electric/water...*More to come. My camping experience this past week was the *worst of my life at this campground and I feel required to share my experience to save other campers from this absurd experience I underwent...Imagine any campground with *normal small sites. Now cut those small normal pull through or back in sites in half.Zero complements to the owner who had the guts to look me in the eye for about 1/2 of one second as he gave my sister a hard time over existing in his campground above 70 decibels...I've never felt so insulted or unwelcomed. ***All led by the owner's decisions.. Oddly the staff was wonderful and are the sole reason this impromptu review (that will get updates) isn't a complete slam.Until the sites that should be ONE are brought whole again, I *CANNOT recommend this campground to anyone but those who have no clue what camping should be.Shame on the owner for his decisions. Big shame. You need a disclaimer before allowing folks to pull up into a 30/20ft site to be aware of what they're getting into.Imagine being able to hear the person in the site next to you sleep breathing (not snoring). Then imagine your pop up 6" next to the neighboring pop up.Bad form from the owner on so many regards. I look forward to coming back to this review and editing to continue the experience my family was exposed to.This *is not* the end.

We stopped here for a night while passing through the area. It was very convenient not to far from the highway and the campground is set up nicely. The staff were great, ready to help us as soon as we arrived and got us checked in quickly.

I will not camp anywhere but here! The staff is welcoming, kind and warm. Honestly it is the safest campground I have ever been to, the campsites are large and spread out and very clean. I've been camping here since I was little with my parents and now I'm so excited to do this with our small children. Shower rooms and bathrooms were never dirty, the grounds are immaculate. We will be back very soon!!

Love that this campground has a ton of trees. Provides shade and privacy from neighboring campers. They had a good bit of scheduled activities, a really nice playground for the kids and they are super close to Lake Arthur. We stayed in a cabin (the outback lodge) that was cute and quaint. We slept 7 in the cabin, comfortably. We had a full bathroom with small shower - not all the cabins have showers but they do have a restroom house with showers onsite. It was perfect for our quick weekend getaway. I'm sure we will be back.

Bear Run is an extraordinary place with dedicated, friendly staff, a diverse collection of sites for RVs, campers, tents, with opportunities to be around others or to stay in deep woods sites and cabins. The camp store is awesome with one-of-a-kind gifts and unique camp wear and supplies. There is a heated pool, horseback riding, a playground, pavilions, music, on-site food, canoes and kayaks, hiking trails, and many extras. The lodge is cleverly decorated with antiques. What makes Bear Run(The Bear) so special is the people, both staff and campers. You will feel welcome, like family. It borders Moraine State Park and is very close to McConnell Mills State Park.
