We live about 3.5 hours from The Cow, however we have family all through Bedford County and have been coming back here for all of our lives thanks to our wonderful parents. My parents are the reason our love for The Cow is so fierce!We are HOOKED on the orange pineapple soft serve- absolutely delightful, light, refreshing with just enough flavor. I splurge for the waffle cone because I'm lucky if we get to The Cow once a year.I love that they still carry the flavor burst ice cream flavors- as a 90's teen, this takes me right back to my youth.The brightly colored streamers hanging in the parking lot just make you happy! During the summer months, the floral arrangements are to die for- simply gorgeous!Make sure to grab a picture of yourself in front of the cow mascot (figure/statue) too! I can't locate a photos of it at the moment to share.We were bummed that they were closed a few years back for a while- and are ecstatic that they've been back and open for business.

Ice cream stands in PA are about a dime a dozen, but The Cow is probably the best bang for your buck for the area. I don’t really have a sweet tooth, but the hotter weather months entices even the likes of me out for a cold snack. And the best thing is, it’s not just sundaes, cones, flurries, shakes (They make a mean CHOCOLATE shake!). They also have a full functioning snack bar next to their ice cream stand that sells snacks of the savory sort (e.g. nachos, jalepeno poppers, onion rings, fries, burgers, pizza, hot dogs, etc. [I’ve provided TONS of menu pics in this review instead of posting pics of myself with babies/kids like most everyone else. So scroll down and check those out! WAY more helpful.]).The burgers are fine. Not a fan of square cafeteria pizza. The nacho cheese is really thick and has a weird aftertaste. And it’s not served warm.The jalepeno poppers, fries, and onion rings are good to go. And the burgers and hot dogs are like the kind you get at a backyard cookout. Nothing to write home about, but again, if you’re hankering for salty snacks to take the edge off all the sweet treats, it’s decent datenite food.I haven’t ordered any of the seafood platters or the funnel fries yet. But when I do, I’ll update with more pics.The staff are exceptionally kind and polite people. The customers on the other hand are a different story. This particular ice cream stand gets swamped with customers. So you’re going to see quite a few impatient people standing in line and hovering over the shoulders of the people standing in front of them. People jockeying to cut in line. People not managing their kids or pets they bring to the window. And people who exercise absolutely no social situational awareness after they have received their order, and just block the window area eating their ice cream instead of moving on. Usually, there are large groups of families who show up and order all at once. My advice is to go next door and order something of the savory nature and wait it out in the comfort of your air conditioned vehicle until the line to the ice cream stand dies down. There are plenty of outdoor tables—particularly in the gazebo areas to sit. But instead of dealing with unruly crowds, heat, and bugs we just eat in our vehicle.

Always remember come here growing up and visiting family now the pup got a turn at some puppy ice cream. This place is just like I remember it and thought my travels brought me here on an unfortunate event it was still nice to enjoy a few memories along the way. The business for it seems to have been good even during recent times. Hope more good times to come!

Was driving by and had to turn around and go back for a cone. Despite not being hungry we couldn't pass it up. I ordered the special flavor, black raspberry in a baby cone. It was not very baby sized at all and it was very flavorful!Cute outside cover eating area. Beautiful flowers!Two different stands, one is hot food and one is ice cream. Lots on the menus.

There is something special about The Cow. It's status as a local favorite is well deserved... the soft-serve is fantastic. I have been coming here since I was young, but now I don't have the opportunity very often. If i am anywhere close, I am headed to The Cow. The hot fudge sundae is my go-to. Take the time for a visit and you will not be disappointed.. Thank you to the Claycomb family for many good times and the delicious ice cream!

Love this place. We aren't local, live 3 hours away and pass by on the drive to Johnstown. This place is so similar to our Collinsville Drive In back home. We had the cheeseburger blue plate with curly fries and a sweet tea. Everything was hot, fresh, prepared as ordered and delicious. Service was polite and quick. Will stop there every time we pass thru.

The Cow has always been a favorite of mine and often the highlight of my trips through the area twice a year. Can’t go wrong with the ice cream, shakes, and malts. I have never tried the other food. As far as roadside custard stands/ice cream joints, this place is legendary, and if you drive through this is a must stop!

It was my first time there today, and to my surprise they have a huge selection of fast foods which made it a difficult decision for me but I'm not complaining!The building is small and it sits beside and ice cream site called the Cove Soft Serve.The Cow has Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Fish, Chicken and Rib sandwiches, Curly Fries, Regular Fries and Pizza amongst other delicious foods.I bought the Bag of Cheeseburgers, I wasn't sure how many would be in it and it cost a little over $12. I opened the bag and there was 4 nice size Cheeseburgers made with real beef.The place is inexpensive and I highly recommend it, I give them a 5 ⭐.They offer outside seating if you would like to sit there and eat.If in the area and you feel hungry that's one of the places you need to go to.

Was awesome. Just passing through and decided to stop. Staff was outstanding, fast, friendly service with a smile. Very welcoming. Ice cream was excellent. Makes me wish I didn't live 1200 miles away. Probably a good thing, I would eat too much of the wonderful ice cream they are serving. Thanks to the crew for making me and my family feel so welcome at this wonderful place.

Lunch/Dinner:The food here is fantastic, ESPECIALLY by ice cream shop standards. Two burgers, fries, and a drink for less than $10 is practically a steal anywhere, let alone when it's done so well.Dessert:What a fantastic selection of ice cream and other dessert. All of it is pretty darn good as well. I personally have never been disappointed by their ice cream, flurries, milkshakes, malts…the list goes on. I HIGHLY recommend getting half a dozen ice cream sandwiches for the road.

Saw this place while driving through on the way to a friend's wedding. We decided to stop and were glad we did. Smooth soft serve ice cream and a spacious outdoor seating area made for an excellent roadside stop! They have a decent sized soft serve menu with banana splits, sundaes, and shakes, and they also offer food as well.

Always has great soft serve ice cream, since I was a little kid. Love the ice cream sandwiches. Hamburger stand has added some new items since I've grown up, but the hamburgers and fries are much the same, which is good. They add toppings to the burgers, so be sure to specify what you want as toppings when you order.

The ice cream was very good, always busy, but they need to do something about the service very very slow probably not tapping what they could do with speedy service. Wait was 20 minutes easy in the heat, with only four people ahead of me don't know if it's worth the wait.

Stopped in while driving through after a baseball tournament on a Sunday afternoon. Place was packed, it was packed on Saturday also. Drive a few miles down the road past another place that had a car or 2 in the lot.This place has friendly workers and cold ice cream at great prices. Can't beat that. There is a reason they have bee. They serve ice cream, not soft serve ice milk. My small cone was a bit smaller than my normal serving. They have a nice covered deck, gazebo and pergola for sitting while you enjoy your dinner (they also serve things like pizza, fries & burgers).

Great local seasonal drive up for burgers, pizza, chicken fingers, etc and soft serve ice cream. Tends to get busy after school sporting events and the wait can be long. Call ahead ordering helps.
