Absolutely fantastic experience working with Jim when purchasing both of my EVILs. I drove all the way from the greater Washington DC area on three separate occasions, if that says anything. His attention to detail and dedication to his customers is unmatched. The first time I came out, I spent about 5 hours trying out bikes. He happily answered all of my questions, and made on-the-fly modifications to the bikes as I put them through their paces... Including swapping a fork out. When Jim had a frame/fork available for a custom build out, I jumped at the chance. Once again, he patiently answered all of my questions, went through the seemingly countless available options, and sent me pictures when requested. I can't stop smiling at my new bike! I am so pleased with my entire experience working with The Bike Lab, and highly recommend it.

I recently bought a Liv Intrigue X E Plus Mountain bike from Jim at Bike Lab. From beginning to end, the experience was extremely positive. It is great dealing with a bike shop where the owner is involved and enthusiastic. The bike seems to have some limited distribution right now, but somehow Jim performed some magic and got me one pronto. Amazingly enough, this bike has full power and comes in at under 40 pounds. My previous E bike was too big and it was riding me instead of me riding it. I love this bike I have about 10 rides on it. I had a hard time stopping riding it and getting back to my analog mountain bike because it is so much fun. I am under 5 foot tall, and had a hard time finding a bike that would fit me. Jim introduced me to this extra small frame, and it is perfect for me. Jim goes above and beyond the call of duty. He was great to deal with. He is passionate about bicycles and you can see that in every aspect of his store. Thanks, Jim!!

Excellent customer service. Answered every question we had. Excellent prices. They had a sale and with the free assembly it was cheaper than buying online and paying for assembly. Also, we got a free battery for each of our aventon e bikes. They helped us with getting our new bike racks on and giving us all the instruction on properly fastening them and walked us through maintenance on the bike and we get a free tune-up and cleaning in 2 months. Very nice guys and easy to talk to. If you can tell they enjoy doing what they do.

First time customer very happy with the service I received! Jim was great he was very knowledgeable! I had to get my bike serviced was having issues with shifting and some wheel issues. They did a great job correcting the issues I had and gave me a reasonable price. The bike now rides like it did the first day I bought it 10 years ago. I would definitely recommend them. First time customers to the Bike Lab. Haven't ridden in 5 years and had little knowledge of E-bikes. The owner (Jim) spent considerable time on the phone with us then spent over an hour walking my wife and I though all the options that might fit our specific request and style. He doesn't push like a typical salesman. With the shop layout being a fun, laid back, comfortable lodge setup...to Jim's knowledge of all of his inventory and biking overall, we were totally comfortable by the end of our visit. We bought two bikes and a great bike rack! When we picked them up Drew the Bike specialist walked us through every inch of our new bikes and rack. Fun, professional team that truly puts the customer first!

The guys at The Bike Lab are always ready to help, whether it is expert advice on a purchase or repair, or adjusting a derailleur or cable for proper shifting, or replacing a bent rim (in my case, within 1 hour)...I bought my wife's Aventon Pace 500 from them at a great price and it has performed flawlessly. I always feel appreciated as a customer and sense humility not arrogance. They just love everything about biking of any style and want their customers to enjoy it as much as they do. Great inventory of 'everything bicycle'! Their prices are as good or better than other bike shops in the tri-state/Pittsburgh area. Try them and you'll keep coming back!One more thing, you also get to pet Labrador retrievers!

Stopped by The Bike Lab the other day with an old coworker of mine to have our bikes get a tune-up and have some repairs performed. Jim was speaking with customers when we walked in, but kindly greeted and assured us he would get to us as soon as he was done helping the other customers. We then took a walk around the shop and looked at the amazing inventory of bikes at the shop!! The shop has a great selection of entry level to expert bikes. Towards the back of the shop are some wonderful dogs (assuming where the shop gets the name!!) that were super friendly and loved the attention! Jim then asked us how he could help and explained what all he would do for us. About a week later, we got the call our bikes were done so I picked them up and for very reasonable prices, our bikes are running brand new again!! The shop is amazing for all your bike needs!! #shoplocal!!

My husband and I have been wanting electric assist bikes and have been doing some research. We went to the Bike Lab Saturday after learning they sold these bikes. It is difficult to sort through all the online information but Jim took time to answer all our questions, understand what we wanted and what would support our needs. He let us take a spin around the parking lot too! We were so impressed that this great store is in our neighborhood! We bought bikes knowing that we have a convenient, knowledgeable, customer friendly place for all our needs.

The Bike Lab is a fantastic shop with a real personal feel. There is a pretty amazing variety of products and accessories here. Whatever you need, you will find it here. I was looking to do a number of customizations on a new Giant mountain bike and Jim spent quite a bit of time making sure all of custom parts were going to be the exact right choice for my build. Can't recommend enough!

The Bike Lab is an awesome locally owned family run business in the Pittsburgh area that I have used for several bike upgrades, routine service and now that they have a brick and mortar shop it’s also my go to for any accessories or supplies.One of the things I like the most is they talk to you not at you. I was a complete novice at mtbing when I first came to The Bike Lab and had little knowledge about parts, maintenance etc. Any time I got work done or was considering upgrading anything, Jim took the time to explain to me what the part did, various options based on my current set up and price points. He helped me take a very entry level bike to a bike I couldn’t be happier with and now I even know how to do basic maintenance myself.I highly recommend The Bike Lab!
