The prices at Petco are much lower than the nearby petsmart. The people that work here are just so much more friendlier also. The price I get to order my dog's food online is much lower so I will continue to do that. But in the future if I need to go to a pet store, this will be my location of choice.

Was in the McKnight Road store in Pittsburgh this morning and the employees, including Robert, couldn’t have been more helpful, especially since this was the first time I was in a pet store.Had lists for both cats and dogs and they were very knowledgeable and patient! Thanks!

The only people on staff had headphones in and couldn't be bothered to come help us after the front desk clerk call for someone. We stood around for close to 45 minutes total waiting for someone.

I got my Frenchie washed here. Its like they didnt even wash him, he still stinks and they didnt trim his nails, we asked and they said yes!! Its a chain type of business and what they re doing the pets!! Ridiculous service i washed my dog one more time at home! 40 plus $ waste

I always like coming to your store. I'm 70 years old and I've raised tropical fish all of my life. I've downsized after time, so I only have a 75 gallon tank now.I've bought all of my live plants from your store and they flourish. But I have a degree (undergrad) in biology. So I know how to make the plants flourish.Anyway you always have to look closely at the fish at your store because sometimes they have ich, and or fungal issues.On my last visit I went to pick up 6 pearl gouramis that I had asked to be ordered for me. I recently had a fall and broke two ribs in my back, but your store personal were kind enough to hold them for me because I couldn't come to pick them up.Very kind.However, when I came to pick them up I couldn't bend down to see them, as they were in a bottom tank. I asked the lady , who is great, if they were alright. She said their fine but there's one that had a price of its fin out.So I bought all 6 of them.But when I brought them home they had ice.Just disappointed.I think it was shocked related as they just had arrived, I also belive that I can get them through this.Just disappointed.Also, your earth worms in the fridge were mostly dead.Like you guys but some things need to be looked at

I take my rescue dog, Alfred, to this Petco at least once every other week to get him around people who understand reactive dogs. They are always really helpful, polite and understanding, even when my hairball isn't on his best behavior. The "puppy playtime" that they offer on Saturday and Sunday mornings was also VERY useful in getting him to engage with other pups while we separated from him.

Called to see if they had a fish tank in stock. Gentleman working confirmed they did and set it aside for me to pick up 3 hours later. Super thankful because it was a 45 minute drive to their location.

The Grooming Department at this Petco is awesome!! Especially Kelly C., who turned my stinky little gremlin into a normal, fluffy puppy again. Thank you so much Kelly, we will be back!

Because this is your typical pet store chain this review is solely for the employees. First, the young black man at the register. He is exceptionally kind. He’s always smiling for laughing about something. He remembered me from the last time he rang me out, which isn’t surprising considering I’m a bit of an anomaly, but he remembered the details. He remembered the exact amount of tarantulas I have. He listens. He cares. He is the perfect last employee to see before leaving the store. He gives a great lasting impression for this unit. Don’t lose him.Second, I want to mention the cricket queen. A young girl with long black hair and glasses who works in the back with the live animals. It took me a couple visits to realize the value of her as an employee. She isn’t just an employee they stuck in the back with the insects. She’s passionate about her work. She’s very informative. And if she doesn’t know the answer she will find it for you. I’ve really been struggling to keep my crickets alive and she informed me on not only what to do but the why behind it. Don’t lose her either.

This petco is pretty good. Other than the parking situation being next to a massively busy target it is convenient in location for me. I purchased beta fish for my aquaponics system. I must say their beta fish selection was QUITE slim however the gentlemen said they would be receiving shortly. The lady honoted my coupon that was surprising expired which was very nice so i would recommend this location to people closer to the city. While the petsmart up the road is nicer i believe this petco has a better selection.

They refused to sell Rosy Red Minnows because I was going to use them as pets instead of feeders. Even spoke to Gary the manager and he said they're only to be sold as feeders. I've had them for years and even bred them but a filter failure while on vacation killed all my fish. Even told them this.I went down McKnight to PetSmart. Not only were they nicer, the fish were less and seemed healthier.

Typical selection of pet supplies and small animals, nothing crazy. The enclosures/tanks that the animals are in are clean and the animals appear to be in good health. They need to start carrying better reptile supply brands. The staff always seems to be scattered around the store doing animal care, but they are helpful if you can find them.

I am so annoyed. This store sells expired dog food!!!!!The closing time is unmatched. Google map says 9pm. But it closes at 8pm.!!!!

My groomer was Teresa she was awesome.. She let me know that I should consider buying a different brand of dog food because my dog had dry skin as she was bathing her she noticed a lot of flakiness. She thinks she could be allergic to the brand I was using. So she recommended to try wholehearted dog food (Petco Brand). I thought that was very helpful.

This petco is probably the worst in the Pittsburgh area they never have tropical fish in stock their tanks are all snail infested store is very dirty dog supplies variety sucks. They just don’t seem to want to keep the store stocked for some reason you are Better off going to the cranberry location at least that store knows what they are doing and have things in stock
