I love the Pet Palace! Our dog, Winston had a great time staying there while we traveled. His "room" was spacious and he had a comfy bed. He got to have play time in the large indoor area with the staff. When we walked through the facility the one things that stood out to us was that it was very clean! We saw that all the dogs that were there were in clean enclosures and all seemed to be very happy. The staff were friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and concerns. While he was there he got to go to the spa. His grooming service was fantastic. I loved that he came home shiny and clean with his nails done.Over all I cannot say enough nice things about the Pet Palace. We have boarded at other places, but they are our favorite by far. Thank you to all who helped take care of Winston during his stay and making him feel right at home. <3

My dogs and cats absolutely LOVE going to Pet Palace. They get play time and all the loves and snuggles they'd get at home. The staff are so kind and caring. You can tell they really love the animals and what they do. Scheduling a stay or a grooming appt is always easy. I'd recommend any and all of their services to anyone.

I cannot recommend this dog daycare enough! The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel completely at ease leaving my dog, Kai, in their care. Kai absolutely loves it here and is always excited to go and play with his friends. It's such a relief knowing he's in good hands and having a blast while I'm away. If you're looking for a trustworthy and fun environment for your dog, this is definitely the place to go.

Pet Palace is full of dog-loving staff! The staff pays attention and meets his needs each day he is at daycare. He has a big personality and loves going to daycare where he receives lots of love and attention. He gets excited every time we pull up in front!

I have always had great experiences with my dog Ellie. She is easily scared and has anxiety. She has stayed there multiple times and she always seems to be happy. Customer service is great and they seem to really know and care about my dog.

I am a college student and have a total of 3 dogs all with varying needs and personalities. I travel frequently and often have a volatile schedule. I predominantly use boarding with rotating play times. I recommend this place time and time again. It’s affordable and the staff are passionate. My one girl is defensive and my other is fear reactive.. my last is easier to maintain but requires stricter watch over food & liquid. I drop them off, they are nervous but when I pick them up, they are always well kept and extraordinarily happy and comfortable. The boarding records that they are sent home with are adorable. I always feel heard and confident my dogs are getting the attention and care they need. In addition to happy dogs, the staff are very understanding and flexible. Great environment with postive Staff. Problem solving skills are far beyond what I could ask for. Congrats on a well run boarding facility, they are exceedingly rare!

My Irish Wolfhound is a COVID puppy and I work from home, so he had never been away from our family for an extended amount of time before his stay at Pet Palace for 2 weeks over the summer. I was very happy with the a la carte options that were offered for 1:1 playtime, grilled chicken, etc. so he could be just as spoiled as he is at home. He can be anxious around multiple dogs, so the 1:1 playtime was very important. The staff was very kind and hospitable when I dropped him off and they took me back to see where he would be staying to show me that, as a very large dog, he would have plenty of space to lie down and be comfortable and everything was very clean. I really appreciated seeing his 'chart' at the end of the stay that showed all of his daily activities.Over Thanksgiving weekend, we had a list minute trip out of town that required us to board him overnight and I didn't think twice about going back to Pet Palace. I spoke to the staff and they were able to fit him in during the busy holiday weekend and get him into the 'big dog room'. When we went to drop him off, I was a little worried that he would be hesitant to go back inside and be afraid that we would leave him, but he was excited to get inside and greet the staff, which was a huge relief that he seemed to enjoy his time at Pet Palace and the staff was excited to see him again. It's always nice when people like your dog.My only complaint is minor, and more of a reflection on my attachment to my dog, is the lack of webcams in all of the suites. I would love to be able to check in on him while I was away, but it's probably best that I didn't spend my whole vacation watching my dog. But the staff was great and sent me regular pictures of him during his stay.

I absolutely love this place and it's entire staff. They have been amazing since I moved here. They treat my dog Dobie to hugs and kisses and he gets excited every time he sees me packing his travel bag!! They are very accommodating to my last minute changes and I am forever grateful to have found this amazing place. I wouldn't take my Dobie anywhere else but here!!

I felt that the staff at the Pittsburgh Pet Palace truly care about the health and wellbeing of the pets that stay there. My dog, Morty, can be quite a handful and has been turned away from pretty much every other daycare/boarder in the area and so to find a place that would actually work with him and take great care of him was perfect. What I didn't expect was how much the staff went above and beyond for Morty even to the point of taking some cute photos of him that I now have set as my cell phone background photo. Morty tends to be quite hesitant with new people, but the staff at the Pet Palace have always been quite gentle and patient with him to not stress him (or me) out. I'm still quite shocked that Morty actually "likes" going to the Pet Palace. Until the Pet Palace I had never seen him actually go back to someone I handed him off to, but at the Pet Palace he'll literally run back to them and playfully ask for a goodbye belly rub. It is the cutest thing and makes me know for sure that he's being treated extremely well there. For that kind of service there really is no comparison. Pet Palace is the place for me and my pet.

We had to board Tank, a 220 lb English Mastiff for 10 days while in Pittsburgh for surgery and recovery. It was not an easy thing to do, he’s very spoiled and we have never been away from him for that long. The entire staff were wonderful, took great care of him and pampered him. He was very happy and comfortable

Pet Palace isn’t for everyone. If you don’t talk to your dogs most every moment you’re together; If you don’t worry about them every moment you’re not, Pet Palace is not for you.Pet Palace Southside’s staff and facilities are top-notch. Always only a call away, they’re compassionate and sympathetic to the most important needs of dogs and their owners. The best indication is the excitement our dogs show whenever we pull up outside; not nervous, but visibly elated. We’re immensely thankful to Pet Palace - a true home away from home for the furriest members of the family.

Had to board our 2 cats because our whole family was going out of town for vacation so nobody was able to watch them.I called every day to check on them and the phone was immediately answered every time by a pleasant staff member who updated us on their stay. When we picked them up their fur was shiny and eyes were bright showing they were cared for. When we got them home it didn’t take them long to settle back in and they weren’t stressed out at all.I only wish the cat area had even just one webcam facing the cat townhomes so owners could see them.

I have taken my dog, Beignet to Pet Palace in Pittsburgh since they opened. He goes to daycare, boarding and grooming. He is always so happy to be there that I know they take good care of him…I can’t recommend them more highly.

I cannot say enough good things about Pet Palace! My dog, Ollie, came from an abused background and is nervous around strangers, but the staff at Pet Palace made sure to not only respect his need for space, but work to make him feel comfortable! I was so incredibly worried about leaving him when I went out of town, but Pet Palace was so communicative and the staff was extremely understanding and made sure to check in with me through email, and always answered phone calls promptly. They even were able to trim his nails before he left, which honestly is miraculous!! I am so thankful to have a reliable place to board my pup, and with such kind and friendly staff. I highly recommend Pet Palace and feel so thankful to have found them!

This used to be a great place. I left my original review below this update from today 12/14/23.This establishment has had so much turnover in the last two years that it's an awful place to leave your pup, bordering negligent. The handlers are inexperienced and unsure of themselves and it translates to the dogs. I was charged for play groups, nail trims and peanut butter kongs that never happened. The ownership has changed hands repeatedly. I have no sense of security leaving my dogs here. I would not recommend or return.Review from 2021 below. This daycare is FAR superior to any other I've ever visited. Each pup gets their own large kennel with a bed and personal items brought from home. They come out for playgroups a few times a day. I find this model significantly better than 50+ dogs in one room barking at one another for 8+ hours. It's very clean and doesn't smell like a dog daycare.

I have a high-anxiety dog and Pet Palace is the only place in Pittsburgh that I feel good about taking him. They’re so attentive to his needs, pay attention to signs of overwhelm, and act accordingly. All the dogs get a break and have the option to do whatever is best for them during the day — playing with dogs, playing with humans, enrichment activities like a Kong, and more.Last time I took my dog to Pet Palace, he got overwhelmed on day 2 of playgroup. They took him out immediately AND refunded me for the cost. It would’ve been so easy for them to not notify me or charge me for the playgroup but they didn’t. They’re honest, actually care about your pup, and do a great job of tending to whatever needs your dog may have.

My yellow lab Rooney has been going to Pet Palace for about 2 years now (Since 2020). We love it here. The staff are exceptional in their love and attention to the dogs and the overnight accommodations are great. They even offer a webcam for me to check in on her while she's there for a night. Thank you to the staff. I am waiting for some Pet Palace swag - a sticker would be great.

Best boarding experience! We visited Pitt for the weekend for a family wedding and didn’t have many good option near us. We did some research and found Pet Palace. They made everything super easy, we didn’t worry about our Pups at all during their stay. And now almost 2 weeks later they still smell good from their bath! Thank you Pet Palace!

We visited this location and decided it’s not ideal for what we expect for our dogs and cats. The deal breakers are:1. The so-called outdoor play area on the website is no longer there, and it was replaced by another indoor area that’s located in the garage, which means if your dog stays here for a week, that’s a week without any fresh air.2. Everything has a price tag here, and you get what you paid., eg every play session or feeding medication. The staff says they don’t believe dogs are supposed to play the whole day, but we also believe there is also a sweet spot between a whole day's play and only two potty breaks per day.3. Many 1-star reviews are from residents in the nearby building who woke up by dogs' bark in the early morning, and it makes me wonder what should count for ruining other people's well-being. The way how it operates? The site they chose? Or the number of dogs they take each time? Or something else.To be fair, the staff here are courteous and informative, and I can tell the location operates in order with a regular cleaning schedule. Cat boarding service seems nicer and it’s facing the street, but overall, I can also imagine the type of pets that like here also don’t need much space in their daily life.

I had an emergency boarding need pop up late on a Saturday and the staff was able to accommodate me and Cookie very well, even being last minute leading into Easter weekend. She came back happy and full of energy, and even though she can be a bit challenging with play groups the staff let me know that they'd ease Cookie in to make sure she doesn't get too rough with the other pups.I very much appreciated their help and the report card was a nice touch to let me know that she did play with a few other pups while I was away.Super happy with the experience and the team at Pet Palace bending over backwards to help. Thank you so much!!

We have 3 cats -- two that are over 17 years old, and one younger cat. Due to the special needs of one of the older cats, we are forced to board them when we go out of town. Recently (in 2022, this review apparently was invisible until recently but was written at the time), we used Pet Palace 3 times to do this. The experience was not great.Since our two older cats had never been separated, it was important to us to be able to board them together. Pet Palace said this would be no problem. However, their "cat condos" are very small -- barely enough horizontal space for a litter box. This means most of the space in the condo requires your cat to be able to make significant vertical movements, which one of our cats could not. Thus, on our first visit that cat effectively lived in the litterbox, preventing the other cats from using it. He returned to us completely covered in litter. To their credit, Pet Palace did move him to his own "condo" when they could, to give the other cats their space. This made sense, and we amended our future reservations to pay for a second condo that was attached to the first through a cat door. They assured us this was not a problem and was available for our future reservations. We also paid for addtional "one on one" (well, 3-on-one) play timeOn each of our future reservations, we confirmed with them that the cats would be in a set of attached condos -- and were multiple times assured this would be fine. This was critical to us because the older cats had literally never been separted since birth -- so being able to find eachother was key to keeping their stress down -- important for when you are boarding cats.Unfortuinately -- on our most recent visit pet palace fell down hard. First, when we arrived, they did not take the cats out of their carriers imeediately, instead placing them in a store room and keeping them in their carriers. The attendants said "they'd let them out to play before going into the condos" which seemed fine -- except they never let them out while we were there. At the time, none of the condos were actually occupied. In fact, the cats and their supplies were basically grabbed out of our hands over our protest to be put into this storeroom despite us wanting to talk through some of the care details and needing some items from the bin to do so.When we picked up the cats -- we found they were in two different condos, but that the condos were not attached. Since this was so critical to us, I asked about it, and we were told "oh, we were booked up, so we couldn't put them together". I mentioned that we were assured multiple times that keeping them together could be done. The respons was "oh, well, we had to move them around because we were booked." There was no apology, offer of refund, or any indication that they cared at all about how this might have affected our cats. Before I left, they said "don't worry, it will be fine next time."It definately won't be fine next time -- since there won't be a next time. If we have to board the cats again, we'll find a place that actually wants to understand their needs and pay attenion to the promises they make about the care of the cats.

Fist time away from Brody, my baby, and it was a great experience. I was very apprehensive at first but they were very professional and caring. When I picked him up he was in good health, happy and seemed content. I was happy with that and will not hesitate traveling again. Of course Pet Palace will be my doggie hotel for Brody.💓

Pet Palace is one of the worse doggie daycares. My pet was in the boarding room most of her time there, with no interaction per camera that was provided. When asked why my pet did not interact with the other dogs. I was told I had to specify that I wanted my dog to interact with the others. This was my first visit and was not informed about this information. I paid to have my pet just sit in the room with no interaction. The worst to pay for interaction when she just sat in the room.

I can't say enough good things about Pet Palace. I had to board two of my fur babies. One is 2 years old and the other 6 months old. The 6 month old just got neutered a week prior to boarding. They took such good care of him and he had no problems. I am the person who calls everyday for updates. The staff is amazing and so friendly and nice. I never boarded my pets before and I had an emergency and had to leave them for 3 weeks. Great place!!!
