Susan Merenstein has been helping me since before she opened MAA. I was fortunate enough back then to have an excellent Naturopathic Dr and she referred me to Susan. It was a life saver! I was a Hormone disaster in my mid to late 30's, was experiencing perimenopause (which I never heard of ) and was barely able to keep my life in order. I had every symptom of Hormone Imbalance and Adrenal Fatigue & Low Thyroid. I visited many doctors who could not figure out what was wrong with me and it made my health crisis worse. I was able to regain quality of life with the Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Adrenal Supplementation and eventually Thyroid medicine compounded at the MAA. I am now in my early 60's and am experiencing imbalances again and Adrenal Fatigue due to major stress, i.e.taking care of an aging parent, running my own business, taking care of a house, etc...I did a saliva test and blood spot test and it proved most of my hormones and cortisol were out of the normal range. I am now on Adrenal Supplements for only a short time and feel better already.I will soon be on the Hormone Replacement Therapy and will re-test to make sure I can get back on my Thyroid medicine. Thanks to Susan Merenstein I can live my life again. I know that I will recover and live my life without extreme exhaustion, mood swings, weight gain, etc...Susan is high attention to detail, educates you, and strives to help you understand how the body works. I am VERY Thankful that Susan took on the challenges of Compounding Medicine and she actually cares about her clients. This review is specifically about the help I was given by Susan Merenstein. I made an order, but I was having trouble with my order and payment method during the holiday season. When I called Murray Avenue to get everything sorted Susan was the one who picked up. She made me feel heard as if I was the only person in the world, while being exemplary, cordial, and efficient. In 2 minutes, my order was sorted, my payment was updated, and my day became a whole lot better. I have never experienced customer care like that before. I would recommend Murray Avenue Apothecary to anyone, they have the best products, and more importantly, the best people.

I have had 100% positive experiences here. This is a true compounding pharmacy, not like some who just make formulations of basically what you can get anywhere.Some of the recommendations I got from Susan, the Pharmacist, were things I had never been told before. I have been battling for increases of thyroid meds for years, and after taking the blood spot and saliva test that Susan recommended, as it turns out I need LESS thyroid meds. It was adrenals all along! My Dr. never even checked for that. Susan is more of a Dr. than anyone I have met.Two weeks into the recommended course of action with products purchased here and I am already feeling more energy and less brain fog.Don’t be afraid to make the switch or question your Doctor.Come here it is so worth it!!

I've known Susan Merenstein since way before I moved to Georgia in 2011 and lived in Pittsburgh. I always appreciated her expansive knowledge of "good" healthy living and ways to sustain healthy living and/or reverse some consequences of unhealthy living. This might be my first google review but it’s because i had such a great experience.I have always bought store bought products for my hair and recently I discovered compounding and the quality that can come along with it. Being new to all of this I was a bit overwhelmed at first. When I got my initial call from one of the lab specialists she took her time with me and answered all my questions. You can tell in about 10 seconds whether the person on the other line is just trying to get you off the phone and hates their life or whether they are truly invested in what they are doing and want to make absolutely sure that the client is satisfied. It was definitely the ladder.Some time went by and I had more questions about things like half life and application times etc. The owner called me and after we spoke about my questions (in depth) we had an amazing conversation about the current state of integrity in the world of medicine and practitioners or lack there of. We need more people like her in the world. I really am glad I found these people and I sleep well knowing it’s not some pharmaceutical chop shop out of who knows where.Thank you again times a thousand,Nick

When my son was 2, he was diagnosed with autism. He was an unhappy child who threw horrific tantrums constantly, and was behind in his speech and fine motor skills development. It was difficult to even leave the house because the lights and sounds were just too much for him to process. Other than therapy, I didn't know what to do. I was in MAA with my mother for her hormone concerns and happened to mention my child. That day would change our lives forever! I have a hormone deficiency that can kill me if not treated. It killed my grandmother as back then there was no treatment. The current "traditional" medication brings with it a risk for vaginal or ovarian cancer. I didn't want to take that chance when the hormone deficiency was discovered in 2008. Susan Merenstein had me do a test to determine my hormone levels and mixed a bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for me. There is no risk for cancer with the treatment that Susan produced. She has kept me alive with minimal symptoms, and absolutely no side effects to the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, for 13 years now!!! I'm thrilled to be alive!! Thank you, Susan for giving me a long life that could have ended in 2008!!

Murray Avenue Apothecary is a place that has what a person or pet needs to start healing or get in better health they have a treatment that two of our cats use in order to be able to use the restroom and when our two cats don't have this they just don't go. There are certain things that are out of your hands in life, but what keeps us going is hope, support and assistance to possibly achieve things that we once thought were out of reach, and provide a solution. A light at the end of the tunnel. This is where MurrayAA, Susan and her staff come in. They offer hope, solutions and realistic advice to their clients. This is not a fake review as I am a client as well. Great client service or 5 stars is not merely enough to offer everyone involved here. My first experience with MAA was over the phone, and is what pretty much ease me into dealing with them. They provide you with steps on prescriptions and how products are made. The staff member I spoke to on the phone was an assistant, and I may have spent half an hour firing questions off. She was busy, but still allotted time to talk to me and assist me.The good thing is, the staff here do not bluff. If they know, they know, and if they don't they find out. I spoke to numerous people, asking questions and I'm sure one of them being Susan. Not a single person showed me any frustration, or attempt to end the conversation prematurely. They were very patient and respectful, but as in everyday life, respect goes both ways. You cant sit there and expect them to spend an unlimited amount of time on the phone with you. If they are busy, use your discretion and try to contact them at a less busy time. Google shows the graph depicting their busiest times.Shipping of my item is no hassle, they take time to make it, and when its ready, they ship it right away taking the same amount of time to arrive. It should be noted that I reside in Canada. The prices do range, and may reach a point of which maybe a little expensive which may be tough for some. But a positive to this is the flexibility or ease of possibly swapping it out for something else. Best case scenario it worked as described, worst case, you tried. At the end of the day each person will react differently to the same product, and it's up to the user to decide how much they are willing to spend, and gauge the effectiveness of that product. Like I said earlier, sometimes hope can go a long way, and which in most cases may offer you the missing ingredient in your mixture or solution.Thank you MAA, Susan and staff for the amazing client service and quality product you have provided me.

I had a prescription sent here at 3AM. Called at 10, 12, 1, and 2, each time they said they'd call back or couldn't find the prescription. Finally, they said they don't carry that medicine. So they had to have my prescription because I didn't even know the medication name. I could've had the medicine filled elsewhere if I had been told that at 10AM. Complete waste of time and unprofessional.Edit: My prescription was received at 10:34 AM. I was still not contacted by anyone, even after calling several times after 10AM. The only time I was contacted was after leaving a review. Well, from the fact that it took a Google review for someone to finally give me a call and for the fact that the tone in the public response versus that of the one in my voicemail is drastically different, I still believe this business is unprofesunprofessional and do not recommend it.

Murray Ave. Apothecary gave our cat's prescription to someone else without verifying that person's identity. Even though her initials didn't match mine, they gave her my prescription. When my partner told them this, they spent 15 minutes trying to convince her that I had actually picked up the prescription and just hadn't told her. They later laughed about the mix up.If this had been treated as a serious mistake (one that could have resulted in serious injury or death if humans' prescriptions were given away like that), I wouldn't be writing this review. The cavalier attitudes of the staff were disturbing. These are prescription drugs we're talking about. This merited being taken seriously.
