We were leaving the zoo while at the light on Baker St. noticed this hotdog shop and just had to stop. I have to say it was worth stopping for the strawberry milk shake it was so great. My husband has the cookies & cream peanut butter milk shake and it was really good also. I had the Chicago hotdog and he had the Dam Value meal which was a burger both good. If you are ever in the area I would recommend you try it. I do have to warn you there is a really annoying message that keeps going off from the light on Baker St.

Got myself some good fries and a Dam Cyclone with Oreos and cookie dough. A cyclone is basically a blizzard like at Dairy Queen. The best part was enjoying all this on a nice day with a nice view of the river.

I've only been here for soft serve, which is exactly what you want. Tasty, large quantities, well dipped/sprinkled, and cheap. With great views of the river. The house listed on Google are incorrect.

One of the cutest little restaurants around. With many options to choose from this little burger-hot dog joint had some TASTY treats in store! The staff was VERY friendly and chatty which made for a pleasant experience. The food was really great, as well as the view right next door of the bridge. They provide picnic tables and benches. It's a great place to eat after a trip to the Pittsburg Zoo!

Really good classic hole in the wall type burgers, and fries that look like they're battered and triple fried. Fantastic! Maybe not for your arteries though haha. Two burger/fry/drink combos was $20. It's a small place, but they take every form of payment, even Apple pay.

Just fun. Neat retro place with classic delicious food. Cannot complain for the money. Wish I could have eaten inside because of Covid.The “grunge” hotdog was perfect and pickled jalapeños that were actually spicy and crunchy! Fries were great even after driving around with them for 30 minutes.

We went after going to the Zoo and the food was great! The view was unbeatable, looking over the river with the leaves changing colors on the other side. I will be going again.

My husband and I ordered the Dam Deluxe and Western Burger. Both were exquisite. Chefs Joe and Kai really know what they are doing in the kitchen. The young lady who checked out our order was very sweet and pleasant, her name was Liz. We will be returning soon to try the dogs!

We drove up here from Cleveland to visit the Pittsburgh Zoo. My wife found this shop online, and it looked good. It was, in fact, delicious. I got the grunge burger (double patty because I have no self control). Chicken tenders, corn dog, fries and onion rings for the rest of the family. The food was excellent, customer service was great, and the prices were fair for the quality of the food. Absolutely will come again on my next trip to this area

Went on a Sunday for ice cream. Portion sizes were great and prices were fairly reasonable! Simple variety of flavors (soft serve : chocolate/vanilla/twist hard pack: about 8ish flavors I think) and options. My 12 year old was very thrilled to see a malted milkshake option. A very very hot day but easily found parking and the service was great!

Spent the day at the zoo yesterday with my 2 grandchildren. The woman who served us was extremely kind—did not charge us for a mini cup of soft serve for my 19 month old granddaughter ☺️When my 4 yo grandson fell off the picnic bench and scraped his arm, she was even willing to retrieve a band-aid from the store’s first aid kit! It’s not often enough that we hear about kindness…We will definitely be returning to support this business!!!

Best quick and cheap lunch in a long time. Had the chili/cheese dog--delicious. Fries were well done as requested--fresh and stayed hot and crisp! Husband had the Chicago dog--sans bun (gluten sensitive). Great service too.Highly recommended after 4 hours of wandering around the Pittsburgh zoo and aquarium.

We love Lock and Dam! Everything we’ve tried from them is delicious. My go to is the dam deluxe hamburger and my husband loves the western burger, but we have tried them all and you can’t go wrong. It is my absolute favorite burger in Pittsburgh! My 5 year old can eat an entire burger happily, and they’re not small, they’re just that good. We tell friends about this place all the time and everyone has reported back with rave reviews. Oh, I’ve also got to shout out their fries, onion rings, and fried pickles. They’re battered and the best I’ve ever had. Every time we eat there- which is quite frequently- we spend the whole meal just talking about how good it is. Like it’s just a hamburger, but it’s a dam good one.

This place is surprisingly good as opposed to what it used to be. They still have the typical ice cream shop fare, but have stepped up the hamburgers and hot dogs quite a bit. From my experience all of the hamburgers are good, but I was definitely not a fan of the chili dog. It is much more reminiscent of sloppy joe than chili. As always the place has a very good view. Definitely worth checking out. I will try the Chicago dog next time.

Great little dog and burger shop, outdoor seating overlooks the river. The fries are fantastic and the milkshakes too. Prices are decent, perfect place to stop after spending a day at the zoo.
