Alot of the time checking out takes up to an hour because of lines. I myself have had it up to my eyes and will never go there again because you spend time shopping and then go up front and realize this. It's ridiculous to have a few items and have to stand there waiting that long, especially after you just got out of work and just want to get home.

There are 7 self checkout lanes. At peak times they have 2 or 3 open, at other times frequently none are open. Even at peak times only 1 or 2 of the 5 regular checkouts are open. Horrendously and consistently understaffed. I drive 15 minutes to other locations rather than walk 3 minutes here because it's faster than the lines at this understaffed store. And the dystopian speaker in the parking lot should be illegal, it's a nuisance to everyone within 2 blocks

Waited in line 20 minutes with 3 freaking items. I NEVER heard of ANY other grocery chain that requires you have a card to use self checkout. My business will be going elsewhere. The very least you need a 10 items or less open ALL the time

Ive never been disappointed with Giant Eagle bakery ever. Everything is always delicious! The cake I ordered for today turned out so pretty. I ordered 2 colors and they added a little green and sprinkled it with these sparkly sprinkles. It was unexpectedly beautiful. Thank you to whoever did my cake!

You need to have their rewards card just to use self checkout? I've never heard of this rule of any grocery store I've ever been to. Staff all look jaded like they'd rather be anywhere else.

If your looking for packzi donuts don't get them here. There selling reg filed donuts and have them labeled packzi, with packzi prices. Wait all year for lent and then get bait n switch on packzi's. Then the woman tries to tell me that they make there stuff different. Then it wasn't made right, they have a recipe for packzi, all they did was put regular donuts in a box and lied !

I've been shopping at Giant Eagle, primarily with my Grandmother and my Aunt. I admire the way they have expanded and progressed throughout the years. Their Loyalty Program, better known as my perks, is really good for saving money on Groceries and Gas.. love that!

Just left without buying anything because we don't have a whatever card you need in order to use the self checkout. When I asked the clerk, he didn't respond. I'm done. Won't be back. Worst part of PGH so far.

Extremely short staffed & very unprepared. The cashiers are often confused & don't know how to count properly - overcharged me twice. Misleading information, will change the rules each time you go. Had to put several things back.. Very incompetent and unprofessional.. Not to mention the favoritism here with races, everyone is divided??? Cops will stand there and do nothing unless they feel like flirting with the workers or customers that come in???

I stood in line for almost 45 minutes to check out. There at least 40 people ahead of me and they only had two check out counters open. This is absolutely ridiculous. It would be nice to get a thank you from the checkout clerk after I hand them my money and they give me my change. I know for a fact that they are taught in training to say please and thank you. But then again their mothers should’ve taught them to do that.This is the worst customer service Giant Eagle ever. You would think that after getting $500.00 signing bonus that the employees might smile once in awhile. I called customer service main number and was asked to have someone call me back, 5 days later no call. Do they care?

Worst ge in Pittsburgh. Staff completely inept while maintaining sh!tty attitudes. Even if you live close you're better off going ANYWHERE else. Would definitely give zero stars if possible.

Very bad experience with curbside. Placed an order, and hours later when I went to pick it up within my designated time, they said they had no clue what was on my order and couldn't find it. The employee was very obviously stretched too thin and had a rough day. Called the next morning to inquire about my groceries and spoke to Janet who was incredibly short with me and rude. She made no attempt to fix the situation. Eventually picked up my groceries, and still no one had acknowledged the mistakes of the night before. Called to speak with someone in management to understand how this all happened and got Janet again. She would not transfer me to anyone else, and only then offered a discount. It took three bad experiences and me advocating for myself just to get some sort of resolution and acknowledgement for the problem.

Giant Eagle is consistently good. If one can wait to shop their sales, one can get some good deals. Having seen a number of Giant Eagle supermarkets now they are on par with other large supermarket chains such as Albertsons. In many instances it is the Giant Eagle store that acts as an anchor and enables local businesses to benefit by being in close proximity to Giant Eagle.

It seems to me that there is a woman manager who is a little rude with her attitude because she was waiting in line and she put a sign for me where it says we will be happy to assist you in another line as I did not understand very well because she did not even explain it to me, I moved towards another row. Then she came when she saw me go to my cart and she took the sign away from me very rudely without telling me anything, How unpleasant it is to have to go to a supermarket when they serve you like that.why her stress hace to affect another people? Specifically Clients.

Great finds on limited edition desserts! It's a little pricey but convenient. Maybe reinforced brown paper bag handles would be my only suggestion. I understand going green, but there are times when I don't have a bag with me and rely on having a bag available or other options.($0.10) If you need a bag,you have to purchase them, so it would be nice for those bags to be solid and durable. They're smaller than the old-school brown paper bags, and the handles bust off if the bag is too full. The whole bag thing is just a pain in the rear. Purchase a bag/ bags that fall apart, which ultimately you're wasting money that you don't even have. It wouldn't be so bad if everything else wasn't so outrageous! We've been bagless since October. Has the earth improved? Honestly, I need to see how this is "improving the environment." I need proof...END OF MY RANT! 🤪 🤗🤣

Filthy and unreliable, this store is the worst Giant Eagle I've ever shopped at. Unfortunately it's the nearest one as well, but i only use it for an emergency. It's a dump and very poorly staffed and barely maintained.

They do have a good selection. The prices are about the same as elsewhere. Also, the sales are pretty good. The store is just a bit too chaotic for my taste. It's convenient because it's near my workplace.

As a nearby neighbor, I appreciate the work they’ve done to keep the store and parking lot safe. Security guards in the store and outside (St. Moritz) are great for peace of mind and welcoming.

I went to get cooked Chicken at their hot foods section and there was a sign that said be back in 30 min 5:50 so I and other customers stood there and waited. I went to tell a manager that there's no one at the counter, she said so(Diane),I was taken aback by her comment and attitude, I let it go and returned to hot food counter when this dirty, unclean, smelling like straight weed,comes over and said hot foods is closed and I lost it after waiting all that time. Then I tried to complain again to manager she said ok it's closed, she was the most unprofessional and unpleasant woman that I have ever met . Will never shop there again
