This particular store treats customers like trash. They assume everyone is stealing. Staff is rude and nasty. After being "reported" for not checking my bag by the miniscule female security guard, Two female employees ran up on me all crazed like I was trying to burn the store down. I was standing close to the cashier area and I was informed they have "rules" for customer to follow, like check your bag even if your money is in that bag. I refused - my money was in there and I only wanted one thing and I told them that. Customers do not work for you so your rules do not apply to adult customers.. People only shop here because there is no place else as the area is an empty pit of nothingness. I bet all the five star ratings are from paid employees. I feel sorry for people that have this as their only neighborhood choice. Low class, rude and obnoxious employees being mean and nasty for their masters Gary Philbin, President & CEO and Howard Levine, Chairman and owner who are swimming in millions while their mean staff gets paid in pennies to be EVIL. Ignorant beyond belief.The nastiest family dollar in Pittsburgh. And obviously they do not care because they have not answered any of the complaints on this thread. People deserve better than this dump and their awful employees.

It's a good family dollar. But it's slow... Security bothered me and my friends and proceeded to mean mug us as we left. Interesting employee to say the least.

11/4/23. I went into the store for candles for my son's birthday. The manager of the store is so ignorant it's not even funny. First she accused me of getting in front of someone in line. Which the lady that was in front of me told me I could go because she had a lot and I only had the candles. The manager told me she wasn't serving me and told the other cashier not to serve me neither. She needs to be fired immediately!!!!

Manager on 9/28/23 @ 6:00 is very rude and she be reprimanded. The way she talks to customers, especially when there was another cashier waiting to service customers, she stated she rather make each customers wait at least 10 mins each in her unbelievable long line...(Corporate office will be called)

Absolutely the worst family dollar ever. The store hours may say it closes at eight but it appears that actually decide to close whenever.I live right next-door to this store and anytime I try to go after 630 PM. It’s usually closed for no reason. Beyond this irritating issue, the whole store is a mess, dirty , understocked and surprisingly overpriced.

This store OPEN AND CLOSES when it wants. Very Disgusting Dirty nasty filthy ALWAYS especially in the last several months. Aisle blocked ALWAYS blocked with boxes which causes safety hazardAnd debris in the entire store.The floors need to be swept and mopped.They NEVER have the store stocked from eggs to toilet papeecandy beverages hair cate products etc.I blame this entirely on management.You designate employees to clean.Or be a leader and do ot yourself.They are more in the office or walking around with major attitude..The community is sick of it. I have numerous pictures inside and in the back area of the store.Next is cooperate and Social Media ie; news stations

Your store on Centre Avenue in Pittsburgh is a disgrace. The store is dirty and there's no stock. There's absolutely nothing in that store. Something needs to be done.

I tried to go in to load my debit card only to discover that the store is shut down due to technical problems with the machines at the counters😞😢🚩. No wonder some of us flock to the South Side for shopping outside the 'hood!

This store needs help. I’m not even sure a review will make a difference. I’m writing because of the experiences I had the last two times I was in the store. Around Christmas I went in for a few items. The shelves were disorganized and it was hard to tell what price was for what item. I went to checkout there was a young lady having conversations with the two employees at the register. I’m waiting patiently for her to check out when the customer finally turns and said oh I’m not in line. The cashier was rude and continued to talk to the woman as she was checking me out. The cashier never gave me my total I just looked at the screen and knew what to pay. No thank you or anything. It seemed it was a bother that I interrupted the conversation. Just yesterday I returned the line was long and there were four people being the counter and one standing near the counter having conversations while we the customers were trying to check out. One employee was having a very loud personal conversation cussing and all right there. The young man ringing me out practically grabbed my items out my hand without even allowing the previous customer to completely collect their bags. He had conversations with the other employees the whole time. At the end of my transaction while handing me my change his response was here. Who is the manager of this store? Why aren’t your employees properly trained?

The store was very unorganized an did not have a structure. Their was no cleanliness things was never stocked employees argue with customers. It was like a zoo. Great manager is at the centre ave location now. Good job to the higher managers it took a longgg time to see it was ran horribly...

Ghetto: 2 professional people the rest are rude. Sparsely stocked. Freezer section is mostly empty except for the eggs with the 2 weeks old best buy date.

I have been to quite a few Family Dollars and this one in particular it was very clean and spacious and I was able to shop around get in and get out the only thing was the cashier was busy stocking instead of ringing the customers up I would have thought as people were coming in he or she would have made their way to the cash register for one people is ready to check out that was the only thing but I love the cleanliness and it's spacious this of the place

I try to go to this store almost daily. NEVER OPEN ! They are always closing the store BEFORE required store hours , iv never been able to go after 2:00pm. I try to call first to be sure they are open they never answer the phones. I HATE THIS LOCATION

They always have boxes in the aisle and empty shelves. This is one of the most disorganized Family Dollars I have EVER gone to. Staff is quite friendly tho. This is the store on Centre Ave. Hill District
