I am so sad & disgusted about the treatment my daughter & I experienced this afternoon at the Dover Saddlery in in McCandless, PA. We stopped in to purchase a helmet & possibly other riding gear. It was our first time in this store & when we walked in, we politely asked where the riding helmets were located. The woman the desk rolled her eyes and answered rudely “Behind me, on the walk” & huffed out a breath. I have never been treated with such disdain. We will not nor ever purchase anything ever from this establishment She was an older woman & beyond rude. It’s so sad that this company is losing customer’s due to this sad, unhappy, miserable worker. Good luck! I’m surprised you’re still in business

I waited 27 mins for either employee to even acknowledge me in the store. Came in for a fresh pair of boots and half chaps after picking up a half pad and electrolytes. Both employees were seeing other customers but could have, at the very least, given me the courtesy of a “be right with you.” I put $400 worth of product back on the shelves and left.

Was saddened to read ‘Shelby’s’ review… one of my favourite things about this place ( not counting the wonderful quality of anything I have ever bought there..) is that they possess my absolute favourite characteristic of a specialty store…they have Extremely knowledgeable staff who are ever-ready to assist and guide you at any level of your skill set, without hounding you , fussing at you, and hitting you with hard sale tactics the minute you enter!!! They are completely accommodating when it comes to ‘just looking, thanks’ and just as accommodating when you ask for help OR explanations about riding , etc. If you wish to be waited on, for example, and helped with boots… I have witnessed and have myself, been helped to a point that I would lost my patience!! If you need to try on 8 different types of boots, they are happy to bring you 10!! Their very personal and wise attention to detail makes it a fantastic resource to anyone who needs or wants anything when it comes to riding ( English) . I do not recognize the same store in *Shelby’s review… there must have been a good reason ; they are an extremely helpful and interactive staff.

Our go to when we need gear. I love that the staff is so friendly and willing to help. They help you figure out what you are looking for and explain differences in products without being rude or judgey. I am completely out of my element trying to figure out what is needed for my daughter for her jumping. My background is western so this is all new. They help me get the best products and also help me understand what I am looking for. I know that when I go there we will get the help we need without feeling judged. Highly recommend.

I went there hoping to find some western items, only to find out that they only sold English attire. The english attire seemed to be high quality. I was just disappointed they didn't handle any western ware.

Great staff who take the time to help and don't make you feel uncomfortable for asking questions when you know nothing about riding! My wife is an experienced rider and went in for Christmas presents. All 4 employees I spoke to were friendly and helpful. Great store.

The people that work there are so knowledgeable. My friend and I went up the one girl Angela help me select the saddle. The other lady Angel help my friend select a pair of boots. They were not rushed they were not hurried they were absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended.

It's a beautiful shop. I Wish they represented more disciplines of riding. There's nothing in my area for saddle seat equipment, but Dover has nothing for Western either. Staff was very friendly I would have rated them higher had they represented the other disciplines..

Dover is a wonderful english tack store. They ARE BOT A WESTERN tack store, so don’t give them bad reviews because they don’t sell western tack. They have all the items for you and your horse, and i highly recommend it to all english riders and horse owners!

Very poor refund system. Always check your accounts for all returns and refunds. 3 out of 4 returns will be always lost somewhere either returning at the store or sending back by mail.

On the road doing our Lone Ranger and silver Western show. my cinch strap broke. Needed a cinch strap for my western saddle. They had nothing Western. No desire to stop there again.

Horrible service!! Went in twice in one day, needed help finding boots. BOTH TIMES no one acknowledged we were even in there and kept walking right past us. Don’t waste your time!! Go somewhere else!!
