While waiting in a long line at checkout, I saw the manager on duty notice the long line but do nothing about it until there was barely any line left when he slowly went to open a second cash register. He had been slowly wandering around the front area of the store, doing nothing in particular, although he did remove a crate from the top of a stack of bottled drinks.More generally, the management is not terribly good at replenishing supplies of products.

I live just 10 minutes away. I'm there almost every day. Yes! The run out sometimes, but I'll wait. I shop there for me and my dog. Their 3 cheese tpast and pre=cooked bacon is to die for. Only $1 for bleach. Can't beat it.

Two middle-aged female employees were just standing around today complaining about all the other employees. I don’t necessarily blame them because the store was an atrocious mess, but at the same time your customers don’t want to hear about your internal strife! I definitely won’t come back to this location again it was like a bomb went off in the place.

Due to far to many thieving d-bags in the world I understand when stores ask that you don't carry bags from other stores in. Instead they ask that you leave them up front at the counter. I actually get disappointed when they don't allow it for liability issues and have to juggle mine. When you only have 1 bag and inform the clerk it's your purse and they still require you leave it at the counter that's just to much BS and not worth shopping there. I'd rather be followed around the store, at least then I could get items too high for my short butt to reach.

The whole experience SUCKED because of the insane waiting time for check out. It took more than half an hour to check out 2 items. The employees were helpful though there was nothing they can do but to wait for the unfinished transactions to be done. The only redundant register was broken and it was absurd to leave it there as broken for a month.Never come to this store if you have no intention to waste your time waiting and listening to other customers' complains.

This store is big! Just wish the employees were a little friendlier. They have a nice selection of everything and the store is organized for the most part. Like i said, the cashiers aren't the warmest people which makes it hard to WANT to come back, but i still take my chances here when I'm in this area. If the cashier doesn't wanna smile, I'll do it for him/her! Lol

Never have enough items and it’s very dirty in here need more employees that don’t have attitudes. Fell in this store and haven’t been back since it was 1 employee there and there was slush from the snow and he couldn’t wipe it up only person there. It’s a safety hazard to me I’ll stay away.

This store is terrible and racist. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a NO BOOKBAGS IN THE ISLE signs and then they play loud DO NOT STEAL announcements over the speakers in the store. If you are black they will take your bookbag. If you are white they say nothing. I am white and they do not take my bookbag. But I watch them take the bookbag of every black person that walks in there. The whole time you are there they deliberately remind you that there are security cameras and audio recording your every move and sound. They accuse every customer of being a shoplifter. They illegally confiscate your bookbag when you walk into the store....there is no guarantee that they are not going through your bookbag and stealing stuff from customers. They are scamming the customers to be able to steal money, jewelry etc. from book bags. This store is doing ALL KINDS of illegal stuff. The store is filthy. Messed up shelves, dirty floors, lazy and rude employees and a clueless manager.STAY AWAY from this Dollar General at all cost. They will steal from you while accusing you of being a shoplifter before you even walk into the store. This is a fine example of a store that turns the community against them. If they are so worried about shoplifting and thinks the community is a bunch of thieves then why have your store here.....WE DONT WANT YOU IN OUR COMMUNITY!! .....a dollar general store brings down property values too. This Dollar General is terrible for our community and lowers property value. I call for a boycott of this wretched store Dollar General on Center Ave in Pittsburgh PA.

I haven't had a bad experience here. But I'm giving it four stars because sometimes you have to wait awhile. They get swamped at times. It's a store, people obviously need to get things.... It is what it is. But it would be nice, when this happens, if they had more than one clerk on shift.Sorry to go Diet Karen on this one.

Always great customer service. Never had any issues whatsoever at any Dollar General I have ever been to. The Crafton location (by the Library) is one of the BEST I have ever been to. Quality customer service and easy to find goods make Dollar General stores the go to for easy, and relaxed shopping

Usually has what I need when I don't want to go to far, prices are ok, wish I didn't have to wait until Saturday to use $5 off coupon. Store is still too dark inside. Thank you for getting rid of the nasty smell inside, I wasn't sure I was going to stay & shop, but this store doesn't smell bad anymore. I told someone behind the counter & they did more than hear what I said. Thank you.

It's an okay store. Decent size, but the employees are terrible with customer service. I've been wrongly accused of stealing when only being in the store a few minutes and purchasing several things, the lines are often long, and no one who work a here seems to want to be here. If you need an item or two you're probably okay, but I wouldn't make a habit of dealing with this disrespectful place.

Hard to find thingsItems that should be together are in different parts of store. And alot of empty shelves. Manager is very nice and cashier was very polite. And manager opens up to get customers out instead of standing in line.

Kinda disheveled appearance every time I have visited. Pleasant staff is helpful when asked. Great selection, awesome prices. Clean store. Unfortunately you are greeted with an annoying announcement that you are under video surveillance, every time you enter the store.

Loads of choice of products at a fair price. Counter staff are very friendly. Store is large and convenient to walk around. Ample parking is available right outside the store that is right in-between Centre Avenue and Baum Boulevard.

It's a typical Dollar General with a variety of every day items to choose from. You can buy pretty much anything you need here from food, everyday essentials, clothing, shoes, auto and hardware, laundry essentials, home decor, toys, seasonal items, storage, cooking essentials, plus much more. Be aware, however, that popular itms sell out and can be out of stock, which can be annoying when you need something. And, if the store is busy, you can wait in line for what seems like forever.

Drove over & was there at 10 a.m., they were closed.... Their sign said that they opened at 8 a.m. The store was gated & no one answered the phone! So, I went to the next closest Dollar General, down by Target & they were wonderful...

This Dollar General is fairly new so it is relatively clean. It's cheaper than CVS or Rite Aid and has brand named products. Good place to go if you live in North Oakland and is a college student like me.

This store is always low in inventory and messy. I visted 2/27/2020 for the current sale. I found a basket that was red dot and 90%off. This basket had a liquid substance that leaked onto it's wood floor (the basket) i told my son to ask the cashier to please wipe it. He used a dry paper towel and said its a stain.Then I walk up to checkout (my cart was filled) and ask for a wipe or something because it was an unknown liquid. I also asked to wash my hands because this unknown substance had gotten on my hands. He refused both, he wouldnt even get me a wet paper towel for my hands. That was the worst service, I should have asked for the manager and also completed the survey....unacceptable

Always a good place for a deal. Compare prices though, as some items are priced the same or higher than the 'grocery store.' They also tend to sell out of certain items quickly. One also can't unfortunately be sure that the item one wants will be in stock.

This is why I'm giving a four star:1. It's convenient to people (especially college students) that live in the area. This is the closest discount store to Pitt and CMU campuses.2. Their prices are great.They sell "almost everything" at a low price.3. Their staff is always changing ( it's retail, so that's expected). Half of the staff are nice, the other half don't have customer skills. P.S. They are always hiring!4. Dollar General doesn't sell everything. If you need fresh produce, you need to travel 15 minutes down the road to Giant Eagle or Aldi.

There are no more than 3 employees there at any time, and you can often expect to wait behind at least 3 other customers in line at any time of day. I'm glad it's here now, but I wish the business model for these places wasn't so dependent on capitalizing on low-income neighborhoods.
