Great place for a field trip with elementary students, middle school and even high school. Lots to see and lots to learn. Environmental reserve this close to a major city is wonderful. Keep up the great work you are doing. There is even history to learn from this reserve. The families that made it happen, the roads and farms that used to exist before it became a reserve. What an amazing place.

We joined a guided birdwatching group this morning (05/15/2019). The hiking paths were full of Spring flowers and the air was filled with birdsong. It was a fun, informative and smart bunch of people. Our leaders were skilled and patient. We heard or saw about 10 different species. The gift shop is a treat with many cool things for birders and gardeners. We'll be back.

This place is absolutely beautiful let me start by saying! There is a wonderful play area for your children to come play at, they have small paths you can walk around the facilities. And a small gift shop. I personally love the barn! You can rent it for family functions & events. The place truly speaks for itself. It's even more beautiful than in the pictures & when does that ever happen? The staff are so very kind & help in any way they can. They do a fantastic job at keeping up with the landscape & it clearly shows. I will definitely be bringing my son here thru the summer months to play!

We only got a short visit in so far but will definitely be back. The gift shop is amazing compared to other audobohn sites we visited in Massachusetts. It's winter so we didn't see as many birds but the grounds are just beautiful.

The best little hike tucked away in an unsuspecting part of Greater Pittsburgh. I love it here. I’ve chosen to start my birthday off with a hike here for the past two years and I want it to be a tradition! The trails are well kept and there are a lot of gorgeous birds to see and hear. The shop here is also so fun - I love the tshirts.

This park is so lovely - lots of great bird watching and you feel like you're deep in the woods somewhere, but you're right in a neighborhood! Fantastic trails to explore with hikes easy enough for everyone!

Cute little area. Trails aren't too extensive, but some are more hilly than others. Good for a nice little hike!

Beautiful nature reserve featuring meadows, woodlands, a pond and stream, as well as a nature playscape for climbing over logs, through tunnels and up into a treehouse. Great for small children and families, though dogs are prohibited. Five miles of interconnecting hiking trails will provide many habitats to explore. We often see Canada geese, chipmunks, squirrels, birds, frogs and Mallard ducks. Sometimes we see wild turkeys in the woodlands. Beechwood Farms offers summer camps, naturalist led hikes and special events throughout the year, such as Maple Sugaring demonstrations. The reserve is also home to a Native Plant Nursery with a variety of woodland and meadow plants, shrubs and trees.

This is my absolute favorite place to visit on any given day...They have beautiful trails with all sorts of avian species to observe. Plus, it's home to the Audubon of Western Pennsylvania!Their facilities are well maintained and their grounds are kept in ideal condition. If you're looking for a place to go birdwatching, this is it!

Very nice, smaller, nature reserve in Fox Chapel. Some of the trails (in early March) were smaller, and a bit more difficult to navigate. But others were much larger, with gravel, and would be accessible to most (strollers, etc). Also, a very nice nature store near the entrance that sells locally made maple syrup, honey, and other items.

The area is so so close for the ppl in the outskirts of pgh of whom LOVE wildlife (especially birds) like myself and don't maybe have time and or the money to go to the aviary or zoo every month or so. The picture I posted was unfortunately the only one I got bc I, to be honest was overwhelmed by THE GIFT SHOP AND ALL ITS GORGEOUS MERCHANDISE. Its about half the sz of the Aviary gift shop, but so is this section of the Audubon chapter. This bird home is hand painted by an artist &is weather proofed. So it's not just gorgeous...u can actually UTILIZE IT AND NOT JUST LOOK AT IT SITTING SOMEWHERE! I fell in love with nuthatch's during the civid lockdown. To be honest, their "song" aka "communication to one another", is so so faint...I doubt anyone without exceptional hearing who knows their birds know about these very specific special birds. They're about the sz of a house sparrow and are the most gorgeous grayish/ blue, with a little bit of white and black. The males are only slightly brighter than females so unless their standing side by side it's harder to tell them apart unlike the Robin's, Cardinals, or other birds. This is definitely my moms mothers day or future gift of some sort. If it's still there when the time comes. As any gift shop, it's a bit on the high priced side but after all... so are 99%of gift shops. Least this money actually (I'm thinking) supported the artist who painted them. Every penny I can also give, to help any animals in this harsh time makes me glad to do so. So if you genuinely LOVE nature and want mother nature to have some help getting back on her feet... dont purchase bird supplies from a HUGE "online store" pay a little more. Support the artist who painted this gorgeous birdhouse and support the birds and what the Audubon are all trying to accomplish. Before we lose even more birds. I read the next we are going to lose to extinction, is the "Marsh Sparrow" or "Puffin". We can't afford to lose "ANYONE ELSE"! Even if you don't love animals...do you want bugs out of control biting you and causing disease&discomfort for you& your pets this season? Birds help bring all those bugs back to normal numbers. Go to the Audubon. See the beautiful land and gift shop. Take your kids, grand kids. I'm taking my God Daughter after shes done w/ school this yr. Shes very young but was raised to respect all living things. She will absolutely LOVE THE AUDUBON! HAVE A GOOD DAY AND GO SUPPORT SOME BIRDS YOU HUMANS🦅🦆🦉🦋🕊🐣🐦🦇❣

Numerous little trails with many trees labeled. The trails are open even when the structures are closed like on the fall Sunday morning I stumbled across it. Many others were exploring also. Beautiful.

Small nature reserve with short hiking trails, including some wheelchair accessible trails. None of the trails are very long and you are never very far off road. Benches scattered throughout the trail system. Nice for a quick walk through the woods. There is a creek, a pond, and several overlooks. Shop at the entrance has a focus on native plants. Overall, a quick nature escape.

What a peaceful and beautiful place to visit! Fun and educational. Interesting as well and exciting and fun. Small playground available for children. Not a dog friendly atmosphere unless you have a service dog.Playground: There's a safelink playground for childrenDog-friendliness: This isn't a park its a nature reserve so no pets are allowed

The trails here are very nice, and well maintained. I haven't been to an educational program for the kids in a while, but they offer more than school trips. They have native plant sales, and have expert naturalists who work for them. They are truly a good place to learn about the local environment.

Wonderful place to hike and play with our without kids. The nature playground has piles of logs to climb, a cool tunnel, a tree house, and a hill for rolling. There are lots of nice trails to explore, a pond, and the sandbox with water pump will entertain kids for a surprisingly long time. The staff are friendly and diligent and the gift shop and plant nursery are worth a visit. They also host really nice events, so don't hesitate to participate particularly their creatures of the night halloween event is fabulous for younger kids. Never disappointed here!

Over all it's a nice place to go for a good long walk. Some of the trails need a little maintenance, though none of the posted trails are in that bad a shape. It is good for photos of nature in general specific animals I did not see any when I went. Did hear a lot of birds of you like just listening to nature. There is a store on sight, looked more like a gift shop. I did not go in so I can not confirm.

A beautiful park and nature reserve, with lots of space to walk, hike, explore, or play. There's a large play area for children- the kind that involves their imaginations. It's a simple wooden playground with lots of open space to explore nature and be creative- a very Montessori method way for kids to play outside. There's also a second, smaller play area closer to the parking lot and shed. There's space to walk, a big pond and a nice, clean new pavilion. It's a beautiful nature reserve with lots of native habitat and space to enjoy!
