A great little place for thrifting. Nice collection of local sports items, nick knacks and other misc items. And frankie is the best cat.

A really nice store with LOTS of items to choose from! The store is beautifully laid out...I was surprised how large it was. You are greeted by wonderful volunteers who make you feel welcome. A great place to shop and to know your purchases go to a great cause!

A small thrift store in the Pittsburgh West End that supports cat rescues and adoptions. Store is run by volunteers who are friendly and very caring. Have gotten a few items from them through the years that I have been stopping by. They have the best catnip cat toys, homemade by a volunteer, that my cats love! Stop by and take a look at the items or the store kitty.

Such a great little thrift store that helps animals. I've gotten some cool knick knacks here, and my boyfriend adopted the sweetest cat ever from them. I'm so glad they're in my neighborhood!

The store had many precious little treasures on display. I loved it and it benefits the animals. I definitely will visit again. I probably will bring some of my little knick knacks in to donate on my next trip. It was a cozy place & the resident cat made me feel instantly welcomed. Check it out. 😻

This was my first time adopting from a rescue group. In the past I adopted only from more traditional shelters. It was actually a great experience. There is a lengthy interview process which may seem a little overwhelming but I appreciate that they try very hard to find only good homes for their pets. They are also very helpful after the adoption and happy to give any tips that might help.

We adopted our cat from Animal Advocates. The whole experience was positive, from the application to meeting our new companion.Definitely recommend checking out Animal Advocates’ site. Even if you aren’t ready to adopt, they have a store you can check out. You can buy antiques and support a great organization.

Good luck getting a pet from this organization. They spoke to my landlord and three separate vets I’ve used over the years and were demanding to speak to more. Apparently moving frequently and having a cat live an exceedingly long life (to 21) is considered suspicious to this organization and they expect you to provide decades of vet references to account for that and prove you are an adequate pet owner. Umm- I kept a cat alive, happy, and healthy to the ripe old age of 21. I think I’m beyond qualified as a pet owner. You are not effectively advocating for animals when you turn off perfectly good pet owners with utterly excessive application processes.

I didn't end up adopting here, but I spoke with an adoption counselor online. She was very helpful, and very informative about a lot of things about vet care and immunizations. They'll work with you to place a cat in your home if it's a good fit for both you and the cat. I highly recommend giving them a chance if you want to adopt a pet.

Absolutely adore this cute little shop! I'd highly recommend it for interior designer as well as regular people looking to decorate their homes. Prices are very inexpensive and you never know what you may find there. All their items are donation based so it constantly changes. Best part is the proceeds go towards helping shelter animals so win, win! I'm decorating my home in a traditional Victorian style which are hard to find items and I've had no problem finding things there that match. They carry household items, decor, paintings, clocks, jewelry, pet toys, clothing, shoes, purses, dishware and cookware, even small furniture items! Handmade candles and pet toys. Even collectibles....a little bit of everything. They do have limited hours though and close around 3 pm.

Last time I was inside this establishment was for an acquaintance inspection, when I worked as a Pittsburgh Professional Firefighter, at least 20 years ago! This time I donated $100.00 and took home some really unique stuff for Christmas gifts, for my family! Iwould have never realized what goodies were available, collector's knickknacks and possibly some antiques! All donations and proceeds go 100% including 100% volunteers to animal's, advocates! God Bless! 🙏🏻👍🏻🐕 🐈 Thank You ! 😻🐶 🐕 👨🏻🚒

Posting this because of an unfortunate mix up. I left a negative review in a complete bout of confusion. Animal Advocates is a great organization who has been helpful in providing us information regarding a family of cats that live in our community. Very friendly and informative staff.

Great little hidden treasure in the West end. Got a lot of neat things there today. One was an old movie camera party prop which I can't wait to use! And all the proceeds go to cats and dogs that they take care of. Store employee was very helpful and personable.

I am presently a volunteer at Animal Advocates. All the volunteers are Amazing and Dedicated. We take the Best care of the beautiful cats and dogs we have up for adoption. These pets are truly blessed to be taken care of by the Animal Advocates volunteers until they find a wonderful new family to love them!!! Love the thrift shop too. I buy many "treasures" at the shop. We always need new volunteers. Please consider.

It's a well curated thrift shop. I bought a really neat stovetop espresso maker that both brews and froths. I also got a ceramic glaze clay Dutch oven that does great in the microwave. The biggest steal was the great big stainless steel roaster pan for my thanksgiving turkey. The kitchenware in this place is fantastic and fairly priced. My aunt bought Jewlery.

The prices are so expensive and everything's going up 50 cents to a dollar more than it was 3 months 2 months a month ago but I will say for the deli shout out to them they're awesome and I had a great experience with the deli for a party that I was hosting and I am nothing more than pleased they did a fantastic fantastic job other than that the prices are through the roof but I guess that's across the board everywhere

I don't know. Haven't heard from anyoneAdopting a pet is the most cumbersome process I've ever been. Filling out lengthy applications to non responses. One wonders how these poor animals finally get good homes.

Been volunteering at Animal Advocates Pittsburgh since 2014. They work hard to save animals. I have fostered over 15 dogs since 2014 and am so happy to have made a difference for all of them. Animal Advocates gets many of their animals from rural shelters in West Virginia and Ohio where foot traffic is low. These animals are truly saved when they come to Animal Advocates.

Animal Advocates is an all volunteer animal rescue group staffed by kind people dedicated to finding forever homes for abandoned and abused animals. They also have a beautiful thrift shop which uses 100% of its proceeds for the care of rescued cats and dogs.
