Never once have we gotten a friendly cashier when shopping here. You smile and say hello and they barely look at you or stop what they are doing to acknowledge you’re loading up to check out. The last 3 times we’ve been shopping the only time we were spoken to was to tell us our total. The store itself is nice and always clean/well stocked but the cashiers are never nice. You feel like a burden or bother than you do a customer.

If I could give zero stars I would. Can't even exchange something 20 minutes later after buying the wrong thing. Lousy and very slow service. Lisa K. especially gave us a hard time, saying we couldn't get our money back or exchange. We used to come here every day and I know that will definitely not be the case anymore.

We made a trip to Philipsburg and happened across this market. What a great find! The market itself is not huge, but I was pleased with the produce, lunch meat/cheese counter selection as well as the meats! The people behind the meat counter were very friendly and bent over backwards to help us find what we were looking for as well as recommended new to us cheeses. Such warm and friendly employees at this store! It really is a "home town" market! Prices are decent and the deals and sales are excellent! I'm so happy we came across this market. I will definitely be going back again!

Stop selling meat without dates. The meat guy telling me those loins are good for 30 days and there's no date anywhere does not ease my mind. I brought this up back in June, tried again yesterday...well just opened the most rancid pork loin I have ever smelled. Then was told to bring it back in lol. Food MUST be dated, this was my last meat purchase. Between the cashier telling me his abortion views, bad meat and higher prices...you lost a customer.

It is such a nice little grocery store. I like to shop here because it's small but they always seem to have everything I need.I would have gave it a 5 stars but no matter what time I go in there they never have enough chicken cooked to cover there chicken take out deals.there has been at least 6 times I have stopped in there to get there cooked chicken to have for dinner and they only have a couple pieces left and I don't have time to wait till they cook more.Hey here's an Idea when it's getting low.cook some more.

My favorite grocery store in the area! Great meat department, fresh and cut on the spot. They have really low prices and specials, what's not to like?!? Management is very accommodating and friendly, employees are helpful and kind. Love this place and since the remodel, they have beer and wine!

Great meat prices. Look for red .99 & 1.99 Reduced stickers. Ready In-House made meals for under $4.00. Beer & wine take out with chilled individual serving sizes available.2022 update: With the recession, prices have gone up, but the meat & chicken is still fresh cut, just like an old time butcher. Store busy for a Sunday. Started a Rewards program using your phone #.Will try to take pics of the meat when I get home.

It's pretty small, decent prices but gets packed fast. The deli is almost always backed up because it's cheaper than most. Often deals on meats as well. It's not a place to go if you need a bunch of stuff. Watch the produce closely and you can get some deals, some of it is priced that way for a reason.

They need to keep the people they have off, off and quit calling the same person in everytime somebody new that the hire doesn’t want to come in. She’s been working for years always being called in no wonder she’s getting sick now because they can’t ever give her the well deserved break quit calling the same person in. Isn’t that a manager Responsibility to come in when that happen. Oh wait let work the only good worker there into the ground! Something needs changed

I actually used to avoid this store as much as I avoid Weis. It was the lesser of 2 evils. However since they added on, it is awesome! The first aisle used to be a nightmare with tables in the middle and just enough room on either side to get a cart through. Prices seem to be better than weis, although the selection is smaller. But a good place to shop. They still a freezer in front of the meat case so there is tension there. It is almost an unwritten rule. You must start at the beginning and walk past all the meat. You cannot skip line if you just want chicken. People give you death glares. 😃

I love this place. There is always amazing specials on all sorts of items. Everything is always nice and fresh. The people are friendly and helpful. There's a variety of items to choose from. One of my favorite places to grocery shop maybe even is my favorite.

Store being renovated. They have a new beer cave! Always good sales. Check for orange stickers for .99 or 1.99. Great fried chicken in the deli. Have sandwiches or other hot foods near the checkout. Fresh cut fruits. Always have some strange items for a grocery store on clearance like glassware or t shirts.

Sad to say that this nice store does not adhere to state mask mandate. Went to the deli to make a purchase and walked away when none of the deli workers cutting food had masks on. Other employees have decided to let your nose hang out of your mask is ample protection.

I love hometown, still has a real bakery, you can watch them slice your meat, it is definitely the feeling from days long ago and I like remembering them - I live in clearfield so when I get the chance I go to hometown I love the huluski they sell in trays

Got raisin filled cookies from up front near express checkout and they was molded. Got donuts from in back that was hard as rocks. Breakfast sandwiches was cold and so was the hot wings. The store had fresh donuts before but these cost more and truly sucked.

Too expensive!!Products seem more like 2nd hand & knock offs with top shelf prices.. A 12 pack of little chicken pieces (like what u get to make got wings) are almost $9 a pack! That's ridiculous!!!Most of the employees are super nice though_

I buy my luncheon meat,produce and fresh meats at Hometown. My husband and I love the boneless skinless chicken...fresh or when we freeze it and then cook it,it cuts up like butter...when we buy at Walmart it can cook for hours and it still won't cut up. We have been shopping here every week for 2 years now and will continue.
