Brown Dog catered our wedding last September and I can't say enough good things about them. We met with the owner, Bill and planned out the menu for the day, which ended up being amazing and even more than expected. Besides that, they do not nickel and dime you and charge you fee after fee for everything you can imagine, it was a flat price and very reasonable. I had to make some last minute adjustments to the location of the buffet and they solved my problem by bringing their own pop-up canopy which saved me having to rent one. They also kept an eye on the cake (different vendor) which started to melt so they refrigerated it until we were ready to cut it to keep it looking nice. Everyone on the team that I interacted with was so nice. They were absolutely wonderful and I would recommend them 100%

Stopped in for breakfast on a rainy Saturday. The service was great - our server gave delicious recommendations and was prompt and professional. She ensured that we were well taken care of and tended to any requests. The food was filling and yummy! I had the breakfast sliders which paired savory and sweet together and BONUS didn't fall apart while handling. My husband had the breakfast burrito which was also sturdy in structure (appreciate a larger tortilla and added touch of using panini press to add texture). The egg in the burrito filling was in an 'omelet style' so it didn't crumble out as you took a bite. Side breakfast greens were a nice touch with each of our meals and the price point made us check our bill (GREAT VALUE). Inside, the decor is eclectic and fun to look at while your food is being prepared. We also appreciate the non-gendered bathrooms unfortunately, we were too full for any baked goods, but did our has while bean coffee to go and look forward to trying it at home.

I’ve been trying to get in this restaurant for quite some time but always seem to show up when they’re closed. Went in last night had a remarkable meal not only for central Pennsylvania but a great meal for anywhere. Lobster mac? CHECK! Freshest of fresh tuna poke felt like I was eating this in a New England fine dining restaurant….just fantastic! Menu changes monthly so excited to go back and the flippin desserts oh my gosh! Don’t walk run to this restaurant!

Bill and Brown Dog Catering were excellent to work with for our wedding. We had 26 guests and the team cooked most food right on site. They were kind to work with and easily moved everything when we moved our wedding from last fall without asking for a single deposit. Bill offered suggestions, but essentially let us create our own menu. I was able to rent all Dinnerware (cups, plates, silverware) through them, which was significantly more affordable than Best Event. They were able to make diet accommodations for my dad, which was really important to me so that he could enjoy a delicious dinner too. During our dinner, their staff checked in to see if we needed anything and packed up all leftovers so we could enjoy the next day. We are so happy to work with Brown Dog and thankful for them!

I’ve been here several times and this place gets a 10/10 in my book. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The food is cooked to perfection and their menu offers higher quality dining. This town has a lot of pizza places (which are also great) but in a sea of pizza, this place serves finer dining options. They also offer homemade desserts here that are the best in the area so you can also swing by and get a coffee to go with a dessert. The people who cook here really know what they’re doing, the servers are super nice and the ambiance is great. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We just had one of our favorite dinners of the year at The Kitchen at Brown Dog Catering! The menu had so many fantastic options that it was hard to choose. We started with the delicious Fall Flatbread (which MAY have been my favorite bite with the mix of blueberries and caramelized onions) and the pumpkin bisque, which had some nice warm cinnamon flavor. We knew that we had ordered well!Our entrees also came with a nice side salad with yummy house made dressings (huckleberry vinaigrette and maple vinaigrette) My husband loved his braised short ribs with cranberry demi glacé and my scallops with polenta and pomegranate and serano chiles was amazing; so inventive and not the same old thing you see on every menu.The atmosphere was so nice too. A beautiful dining area with unique art and tasteful decor. There were some nice holiday songs playing in the background. We enjoyed thar we could bring our own special bottles of wine to enjoy with our special meal. I have to say that I was shocked when I saw the bill because surely it should have cost more!The gorgeous pastries in the case were so enticing that I would love to stop by their lovely coffee shop in the future. This is truly a hidden gem that I cannot wait to visit again. With it being only a short drive away, I’ll definitely be back soon!

What a cute place! The setting is incredibly comfortable. There are desserts for every taste bud! I ordered brunch sandwiches there Sunday and they were DELICIOUS! So much that I didn't take a picture, I was too busy eating it 😂 .

This place is simply amazing. Fresh baked treats, custom hot drinks, fabulous every day menus AND specialty menus... What more can a girl want in a stylish cafe?! The owners/chefs are awesome, friendly people. We always stop in for coffee and sweet goodies when we have a spare minute!

Last update: The owner's response encouraged me to give it another shot. I've since returned TWICE and have still not eaten.Once, during the week. I was one of two patrons and there was a business meeting happening in the corner. Staff walked back and forth but I was not greeted and I'd sat for over 5 minutes without being attended to. One of the people in the business meeting kindly suggested I sit somewhere else since I had books that he assumed I wanted to read in their establishment. I kindly left. No one had come to my table to greet me, ask what I'd like to drink, or take my order.The second time was on Sunday morning with many other patrons. I seated myself and although staff was walking around tending to multiple tables, two staff members walked past my table and I was never greeted. After several minutes of being CLEARLY SEEN but not acknowledged, I began to watch the clock for how long it would take someone to acknowledge my presence. After about 4 minutes of sitting, patrons at another table got the attention of staff to take my order. At that point, I chose to leave instead of pay money to get poor service. I will not return. I wish nothing but the best things for this establishment but the customer service is severely lacking. Simply greeting customers upon arrival should be standard--as it is in all other parts of the country. I don't want to make this about race, but I was the only person of color in each instance of interaction at this establishment. All other patrons seemed to be attended to and happy.Update: The owner's response makes me feel like I should give this place another try! And I will.Original review:The ambiance is incredible! The hostess at the door could be a little friendlier. I was seated immediately and handed a menu from the cash register. After observing the menu (which looks amazing), and considering how I felt about my interaction with the hostess, I decided to leave before ordering. I don't want to spend my money where I don't feel welcomed and where I feel customer service is lacking. I can cook my own food or go somewhere else with a better experience. I would probably give it another try if someone invited me to go. The decor and the menu look amazing.

Bill and his team at Brown Dog Catering catered both my bridal shower and wedding this fall, providing a wonderful experience with both events! Bill was incredibly helpful in creating a menu for both events, he provided ideas that fit perfectly into my events. Bill helped to create a luncheon for my bridal shower that catered to all taste, leaving my guest going back for seconds and raving about the food after the event. My wedding was the same experience! Bill and his team created a perfect fall southern menu that allowed many options for my guest to indulge in. His team was wonderful to work with, very professional and kept everything flowing nicely at the events. I have nothing but praise for everything about this catering company, everything was wonderful and they are great to work with! Highly recommend using them for any event you need catered!

WOW! Our company is having breakfast catered today and it was so good I had to come write a review! Everything is fresh, conveniently packaged (as it must be during COVID) and tastes AMAZING. Brown Dog has the BEST chocolate croissant I have ever had and I worked in a pastry cafe for almost a decade.Ya know when you can see someone smiling around their mask? Every Brown Dog employee I encountered today was smiling and happy to say Hello! I love this company. The food is stellar, the employees are top notch in customer service and I am not alone in my amazement of their steadfast and quality work! I highly recommend Brown Dog for ANY catering event!

Long overdue review: Brown Dog catered our ~200 person wedding two summers ago. Everything was absolutely delicious and the food service went off without a hitch. We really appreciated Bill’s creativity with menu suggestions and the communication in the lead up to the event. We feel certain the food was way, way better than what we could have gotten from a competitor... and the fact they pulled it off with better pricing than the competition was the cherry on top.

Fabulous little coffee shop in Phillipsburg. The food and drinks are really good and the portion sizes are perfect! I can't comment on the catering side of the business, but the afternoon restaurant part is a must go. I stop in every time I'm in town for an event. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

I went in for a mocha and muffin and the waitress looked right at me and said she would be with me in a minute. She comes back out right as another customer walked in, she looks right at me and then goes and helps him first. She knew I had been waiting for several minutes! Will never go back terrible service

Had a super brunch at BDC today. Liked Retro, LOVE BDC. Completely redone...very professional. Hope they make Sunday brunch permanent. Buffet selections were many and tasty. Co-Owner Bill visited with us and made us feel at home.
