I rescued Camila, she’s the best cat ever. I love her so much. I hope everyone goes there and takes all the cats bc they deserve a chance in life.

Did not know Dr. Walls had passed. However called and spoke to a gentleman on the phone. I love that Dr. Wall's children are continuing his legacy of service to the community for people and their pets. Although I live in another section of the city, I would not hesitate to take my new pet there if needed. Dr. Walls was one of a kind vet and person. Cared as much for the owners as for the pets. Will not see a person like him again.Totally selfless and dedicated to serving others, both human and their companions. God bless his family for continuing to provide much needed services to the community.

I accepted a temporary position over seas and needed longer term boarding for my fur baby. Greene Street Animal Care agreed to care for my pup. I was able to visit with her recently and she is extremely happy and well taken care of. She gets plenty of exercise, love, and attention. I'm even able to see her playing with other fur babies on their social media pages. I'm forever grateful and would recommend their services to everyone!

I brought my cat in for routine shots and asked if his nails could be clipped as well. The vet tech was friendly but cut deep enough into the nail that my cat started bleeding and the tech didn't even notice til I pointed it out. The shots were expensive and they charged $20 for the nail clipping, which I'd never experienced at other vet offices. This office was recommended to me by friends who have cats and I will consider bringing my cat back for actual veterinary care, but I will certainly never bring him back for routine shots again. The office gets 2 stars for the ease of walk-in hours and the fact that I was seen very quickly.

If I could give this place NO STARS I would. They are starving the animals there!!!The manager has ZERO COMMUNICATION SKILLSI brought my dog there this morning for a grooming appointment. The manager was doing check in and I asked what time is pick up and that's where it went downhill. He didn't know because the groomer wouldn't be there for 3 hrs and there were dogs ahead of me. I ask why didn't he tell me because my dog couldn't got that long without eating. I also was concerned that the groomer wasn't there for me to explain how I wanted my dog groomed. Instead of taking the time to kind me speak to me instead he kicked me out because he was too busy to let me know what was going to happen to my dog. Then he followed me outside and made me feel unsafe so I told him I would made him if he approaches me at what time he called the cops and said that I threatened him.he also made sure to let me know that it was a family business so there was no one else to complain to. If you can't talk to customer about their fur babies then why are you in business 😠😠

Just found out about Dr Walls' passing and my heart broke. Me and my family have/had been serviced by him since the 70's. He will be greatly missed. He mixed his professional and personal manner like no other. He was a grest man My heart felt sympathy to his family, staff and many many patients who loved him.

We love Dr. Walls, He takes care of our dogs and they love him. We got a rescue last year that was very good but didn't like people or other dogs. He adjusted to Dr. Walls automatically. Dr. Walls is worth so much more than he charge.

I've been seeing Dr Walls for our dog for the past 3 1/2 years! After going to another vet several times with a skin issue that was costing me about $80-90 per visit, I was told that additional testing was needed to determine what the problem was. I came across Dr Walls and at the FIRST visit he was able to determine what our dog's condition was coming from, medicated her and updated her shots for under $50!Not only that but Dr Walls also helped me out when our dear Mercy got into the trash and had an amazing diarrhea issue with bloody stool! He talked me through treatment over the phone, I didn't have to go into the office AND he called me later in the day to check on her status! This vet is AMAZING!!!

I love Greene Street Animal Care. They take really good care of my "furry toddler" and although he hates the car rides to and from, he seems to be pretty content once he's there.

Dr. Walls is so sweet to our dog. He is very relaxed, easy-going, and informed. His office is not state of the art, but he is very affordable!

I went to get my dog groomed, my German Miniature Schnauzer. Let me say this, I am absolutely UPSET and HORRIFIED after the grooming experience. I recommend them to NO ONE AT ALL FOR GROOMING...I never used their vet, but I won't ever after this and seeing the place. Horrible cut and got hit with a surprise "price" at the end or they were going to hold my dog "hostage" (you will see in the review below in detail). Ok, I had an appointment, in the morning, 6AM. LOVE the hours. When I get there, the groomer and I go over what I want, I show him pictures, he tells me he does NO styles (ok that's fine, honestly), just shaves and cuts. So, as I am explaining what I wanted him to do to her face. Her face, has eyebrows and a beard (look up the breed to get a better idea if you are unfamiliar) and I was saying shave her head (the top), leave the eyebrows...I should have known THEN, he was going to shave the eyebrows off her, would have messed up her face totally..the breed is known for this feature. I said no, etc, explained what I meant. At the time, I did forget my vaccination page. However, she is and was fully vaccinated from the SPCA (or so I thought smh) and I never had an issue at PetSmart when I used them before (meaning showing them my papers). The groomer was nice (overall he was nice, no attitude etc) and took my word and I said I will bring it back because I didn't live far. He said bring it when I pick her up. So, he took my word for it, which was great, so that was cool and I appreciated that. The price was $75 +20 on the phone (my mother called and spoke to him 3 different times prior to coming in over the last month or so) and we were fine with that (Mom and I) So I fill out paperwork for my dog etc. The groomer said to pick her up between 5P-6P. That's awfully long but OK! Fast forward to picking her up, upon getting there, they open at 5P in the evenings, I got there at 4:58P....I rang the bell twice and knocked on the door..I started freaking out, so I called. After I hung up, a minute later the door opens. Now as a first timer, that made me nervous lol. So, guy open up, their night crew, I said WOW you made me nervous. He said "Yes we open AT 5P". I laughed and stated "are you serious???" LOL. OKKKKK. He was a nice young guy, told him what I was here for. So, I pull out my vaccine record for the dog, he makes copies, goes over it. He proceeds to tell me was I informed about another shot my dogs needs? I said no, the gentlemen and I talked for a few minutes this morning and 3 times to my mother on the phone, no shot was ever mentioned. I explained her vaccination record to the young man and he stated there is a 3rd shot for Bordella/Kennel cough that is needed before he releases the dog. I'm like WHAT, hold on....why does she need it? Why did the SPCA vet said "see you next year unless something comes up"? He stated that since she is in a kennel situation and it's not a required shot (only if they are going into a kennel etc), that's a possibility why I didn't get told. I said ok, however, in the course of 4 conversations with the groomer, you figure THIS would come up especially the one this morning when we talked about the vaccinations because he asked me like 3 times was she really up to date on her shots. He apologized etc. At this point I'm like "what the &*&*" in my mind..now, I'm like...sheesh, what's this going to cost?? I was told 75 plus 20 and how much are you charging me now??? He repeated the price. I stated, so if I don't pay and get this done, you are unable to release my dog???? He stated yes. I'm like in my mind "are you serious??". I called Mom explain, the young man wants to speak to her. My mom was pissed, threatened legal action, stated they were hard up for money etc. I just nicely took the phone, agreed to pay, but stated that really should be outlined and explained, even my vet dropped the ball at the SPCA. This place is hard up for money, smells and the receptionist (female) was unprofessional as well. She doesn't even smelled bathed. He shaved all her hair off except her face.

New to Philadelphia, I chose this vet office based on their Google reviews and proximity to my home.My cat of 9 years was having blood in her urine and I was thrilled that they had AM open walk in hours the following day so we could get seen quickly.Upon immediately walking into this office, my heart sank. It smelled strongly of urine and was very dirty and cluttered. Had time been an option, I would have walked right out. I sat and stayed, due to nice conversations with the only other patient waiting -- he seemed to really love his dog, and so I thought he might be a regular. We were the 2nd patient of the day, but it took over an hour to be seen. When we entered the waiting room, after the last patient, I visually scanned for signs that the exam table had been wiped down (spray nearby, wipe marks, anything). The vet, a woman, saw my eyes and in turn, wiped down the table. Had I not done that, I'm not sure it would have normally been cleaned. The vet listened to my observations on my cat's behavior thoroughly, and we had a rapport. She seemed sensible and skilled. She verbally diagnosed my cat with a UTI and began to prepare dosage of antibiotics. I asked if this dosage was by weight -- she hadn't weighed my cat. She hadn't even taken a temperature or a sample for testing. She explained that antibiotics were not as precise as other medications who needed things "in microns" referencing some very small unit of measurement. I asked why we would be diagnosing my cat with a UTI without any other testing. She explained UTI's were very common and it's best to treat the most common and minimal symptom, see if that works, and if it doesn't, troubleshoot from there. It seemed to make sense, we as humans do after all have antibiotics frequently. This is the first time my cat has taken medication, so I didn't worry.I also explained that my cat at times has problems with her anal glands, and asked for them to be expressed. She did this in front of me, but oddly, there was no smell or anything to clean up afterwards. My cat was VERY unpleased. I'm not sure if what she did "worked" or not.A rabies vaccine later, my bill was $180. I walked out of the office with medicine to give my cat and thought everything was OK.The following day, I had immense trouble getting my cat to take her liquid medicine. If I got all the 5cc's in her mouth, she'd spit most of it back out.By that evening, my cat was vomiting and acting erratically. I rushed her to a local vet hospital. The new vet was shocked at the amount of antibiotics Greene Street prescribed. They advised that too much can lead to upset stomachs in cats. They also advised that UTI's are a common symptom of bladder stones, a fatal problem, and that bladder stones generally are a quick diagnosis by X-ray.They also reduced her antibiotics from 5cc to 1.5cc! Today my cat is having surgery--there is a huge bladder stone we can clearly see in her X-rays.I advise that anyone considering Green Street, look into other locations for the sake of their pet family. I have also heard that Dr. Orville Walls is no longer at the establishment, but I cannot confirm that. I would call and ask them if you're concerned.

The last time my cousin took her cat there, it came home and soon after had difficulty eating, and became dehydrated. (Its jaw or throat or something appeared to bother it when it chewed. It even made a strange noise when it tried.) I wondered if they dislocated its jaw while trying to push meds in its mouth for fleas. According to the vet my cousin had to pay too soon after that visit, the cat was depressed. $300 more dollars later, it recovered. I'm now afraid to take my cat there.

This guy is the animal whisperer docterer! (yes, you read that right the first time). He knew the kind of cat I had and what he needed after he jumped into a fire! (yes, you read that right). The cat recovered and he gave us some direction on other issues that we didn't even know he had. Great guy! Great service.

Greene Street Animal Clinic closed shortly after the death of Dr. Orville R. Walls in September 2017. With the desire to continue his Animal Care legacy, the family shifted the focus and changed the name to Greene Street Animal Care (GSAC). GSAC is now under new management and leadership. We have certified dog groomers, animal caregivers, and the fortune of working with Dr. Louise Wade, DVM of Wyncote Animal Hospital. Dr. Wade is GSACs visiting veterinarian twice a month. Thank you to all of our father’s loyal customers, both animal and human.
