I really like shopping at Giant. But the staff here seems very unfriendly. Today I took my child here to shop. At the checkout counter 16, the assistant asked me if I needed a paper bag. I answered no. At the same time, my child also answered but in a polite voice. She scolded my child with a very angry expression. I think even if my child is wrong in this case, she should not show that attitude towards a child. She was very happy with the previous man but very upset with us. Her name is Sue, she was so means to talk with my kid. Is it because we are Asian?

The best grocery store in the area. They have clean and open aisles. The wait is generally not too long to check out and for the most part the staff is friendly. They have great bakery items that are made fresh and their prices are definitely competitive. You can even place your order online and just pull up to the parking lot. Then they will bring your groceries out and load them in the car for you.

Forget problems with customer service or an out-of-date product, this is possibly the worst offense I have EVER seen a business commit. The management at this store, either on their own, or through coordinated corporate approval, has allowed homeless / illegal aliens, to use the seating area of their store as a hang-out. This action is putting customers directly is harm's way. I recommend that anyone concerned for their personal safety should avoid this store completely until which time this highly risky situation changes. I will be contacting the corporate office to see if they are allowing this to occur at other locations. What is mind-blowing is the fact that when I told the security officer who was watching the other end of the store to forget about people stealing and to stand at the other end to protect the customers, he told me they were allowing this to regularly occur. He continued to tell me that "they don't bother anyone". When I asked the obvious questions about his knowledge of how much he knew about these young men, he admitted he didn't know if they were migrants, drug users, require medicine for a mental issue, or had a criminal history. They all had backpacks, and none were checked for weapons.Try learning how fast someone can cover distance and stab you with a knife. Carrying a firearm is useless if you've suddenly been attacked with a knife from behind. You can easily be stabbed 5-10 times before trying to pull a firearm, and that is if you're even capable at that point. If you spill a liquid on the floor in a market, they will rush to clean it up for fear of being sued. Just imagine if one of these people attack a customer and injure or kill them. That will surely be a lawsuit. The MASSIVE violation to customer safety that is being allowed, is beyond all reasoning. It breaks every safety policy in the business world.NOTICE: Look at most of the reviews, they have a response from Giant. Yet, me pointing out a serious safety issue, gets no response. That's because big corporations across America are paying to support the illegal invasion of our country. In many cases they are illegally hiring these people for cheap labor and bypassing American workers who want a better wage. Our country is being taken from us by these rich elitists who are trying to tear down the middle class. If Giant cannot respond to me, they surely don't care about you as an American or your safety when shopping at their store. DON'T SHOP AT GIANT.

Place item in bagging area, need I say more? The stupid machine in this store has no concept of weight and will repeat this line over and over, next they have no plastic bags so have fun paying for those! Just go to Walmart where it’s cheaper, better and doesn’t have a computer system that will actively make you want to scream, cry and throw up all at the same time.

Just one of the seldomly visited stores, of the franchise where I purchase the the necessary food products. Best believe, can always catch sales or cheaper buy than other supermarket franchises! This particular one is very spacious. Glad this one is open, later than other places in this section of the city!

I enjoy nothing more than coming off an 18hr shift and being belittled by the miserable woman “working” the self checkout because 1 of my items didn’t scan. Sorry boss, I’ll do better next time to remember what items can be scanned and which ones have to be manually typed in.I’ve been coming to this store less and less. I don’t see coming back unless I’m an apocalypse survivor scouring the dusty shelves for the last overlooked can of peas.

My favorite place and go to for shopping!Only issue I have is management!!!Been repeatedly ignored, no call backs, and given false messages concerning employment. Figured it would be a great place to work.

This is our local Giant and we often come here to shop. They had a deal on lobster tales so my wife ran in to the seafood dept. She had said the guy was so rude and acted like it was an inconvenience for him to assist my wife. This is not the first time she said that he was ignorant. The rest of the staff are friendly but this guy has to go.

I was so disappointed today, I don't know if she saw that I was Chinese and didn't want to pay attention to me, or she didn't come to work, shouting that she didn't want to pay attention to me and showed that she was very impatient, I entered a wrong number so it showed that there was a customer service to help, she didn't come, shouted that she didn't really want to come, but she went over immediately when other people had problems, is this racism? See that I am Chinese and don't want to pay attention to me?I don't know English I translated it from Google

I have shopped at this Giant faithfully since it's opening. Their service was great back then and there was a welcoming atmosphere. I was spending over $1000 a month on groceries here. The past year, I have been taking most of my business elsewhere and after today, I will no longer shop here. The cashiers I have come across lately are rude and act like I'm a burden to serve. I don't like to do self service because I want to support the employees. I was a cashier years ago and have worked in retail and I made sure to greet the customers and be helpful. I'm very disappointed with how things are going at this store. The lottery cashier is very nice. I wish she worked the registers.

Liked this store, but little bit products out of shelves maybe it's because came here late 10 pm. In Central PA we used to see products full of shelves. But store is huge and has almost everything like other Giant stores all over the PA

Another example of a big corporation not paying attention to the details. Our family orders online from Giant and the digital coupons are never valid. Delivery problems are standard with every order. Giant isn't the only game in town and we will be shopping at another store. I would give a zero if that was available.

I ordered it online, picked it up, and found that the pork chop smelled bad, organic oranges, a bag of $4.99, there were 6 of them, 3 of them were bad, I contacted the customer service for the first time; then I contacted the customer service manager, On each call, they said that they would refund the money to me. The result was that one week, 10 days, and half a month passed; the money was still not received; the second call, the customer service manager complained to me that these things were 3 weeks ago. Order; I think it’s funny that you haven’t dealt with after-sales, how did it become a customer’s problem? This attitude is perfunctory and will not come here again in the future. Customer service manager, can't solve the problem at all? Very strange, why? There is still a manager in such a big supermarket. It’s really just a name.

The store was practically empty of basic groceries... no lemonade, no Kraft mac n cheese etc. Prices are cheaper but if they don't have what you need its pointless. Probably going back to acme. Tried again, this time stock was much improved. Less stock again, no coffee creamer, lots missing. Much better this visit. Yet another great visit!

The deli counter is ridiculously slow. Nobody moves with a sense of purpose, and they are generally rude. As such, I tried ordering ahead on the app for pickup. Welllll....I get to the store, and I have to call a number to have my order brought out. There is no record of my order. So now I have to go into the store where the online order attendant basically runs me through the ringer. She first started by telling me I probably ordered from the wrong store while I was standing there with the email confirmation in my hand listing this, the Grant Avenue store as the designated location. "Well, I don't have anything for you," So I then showed her my bank account where the order had been deducted, and it clearly said, "Giant Grant Ave $××××". She gives me an 800 number to call to some third party ordering system. After about 10 minutes of going through automated prompts that did not solve my problem and hold time, I speak to a live person. I cancel my order and was told it would be 3 to 7 days for it to be refunded. Really? Because they deducted from my account instantly. So I needed deli meat and figured I might as well get it while I was still there. And yep....as always... there was minimal customers there...3 including myself. There were 4 deli attendants....moving casually about and once again...it was upwards of 10 minutes to get waited on. And yes....once again...rude. By rude I mean...the attendant yells my number...I walk over to place my order....instead of a "Can I help you?" or a "What would you like?", I get a stare. I place my order and when complete, the attendant kind of gives my order a toss on the counter and calls out the next number. No "Thank you" or anything. Giant is supposed to be the upper end of grocery stores. To me, they are the back end...in more ways than one. I shop here because it is on my way home from work. Never again.

Great selection at fish counter. Not as good as Wegmans but a good #2 if you don't feel like driving out there from NE Philly. Love the new robot that roams the aisles looking for spills.

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Giant Supermarket for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. The store was incredibly neat and organized, making it easy to navigate and find exactly what I was looking for. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with shelves that were well-stocked and arranged in an orderly fashion. The aisles were wide and spacious, allowing me to move around freely and easily. The signage was clear and concise, helping me to quickly locate the items I needed. The fresh produce section was particularly noteworthy, with an abundance of high-quality fruits and vegetables that were beautifully displayed. The meat and seafood counter was equally impressive, offering a wide selection of fresh and frozen options that looked delicious. The staff at Giant Supermarket were also a highlight of my visit. They were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist with any questions I had. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a positive shopping experience. In conclusion, I was thoroughly impressed by my first visit to Giant Supermarket and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a neat, organized, and customer-friendly shopping experience. I look forward to my next visit and shopping at Giant again in the near future.

I do typically shop Giant but a closer to my house location.I have to commend the staff here at Grant avenue on how they handled an aggressive person who seemed to just walk in.As I was leaving I was very nicely asked to step aside as they tried to escort a person. The person they tried to escort was threatening to punch the manager as well as myself at one point. The uniformed security woman was awesome. You can tell she cared about the overall situation as well as myself. I wish I had gotten names. They were female, Arican American and had long hair. Thank you.I thought the Managers, a gentleman and a couple women, handled him so calmly most walking in and out hadn't a clue he was refusing to leave. And finally, the great guy who walked me to my care to be sure no one was around until I left.Believe me, even though it's not my around the corner Giant, I'm there quite a bit. It's as safe as anywhere in a good area as far as I've witnessed and the 1 off was handled professionally and safely.

My husband and I have been shopping at Giant together for at least five years. He and I go there at least twice a week and we spend hundreds of dollars a month. We’ve always loved it and never had a negative experience whether it was the food or the associates. On Thursday June 1st my husband and I were with our two year old daughter and were finished shopping and placing our three hundred dollars worth of items on the belt. As my husband continued to unload our cart I went to go grab some bags since we forgot our own. Our cashier Barbara suddenly and forcefully grabbed my arm and scratched me with her nail in the process. Her face was inches away from mine and says “Don’t touch the bags. How many do you want?” When I tell you I have never experienced anything like this before like I was so shook and angry and I mean to do that in front of my two year old daughter. I told her not to touch me and said you don’t treat people that way. I asked her to get her manager and she rudely told me that she’s not getting her and that I can go find her. I said that wasn’t my job and that she put her hands on me and that she needs to get a manager. The supervisor that came over did not act like she cared much and kind of gave a shrug your shoulders sort of answer. She asked Barbara why she grabbed my arm and her response was “I didn’t mean to do it.” I was disappointed and dissatisfied with how the situation was handled so I contacted the store manager after I went home and told her was happened. She was apologetic and told me to give her two days and took my name and number. No one has ever reached out to me since and I just don’t understand why that was okay for an associate to put their hands on a customer. My family and I are most likely not going to be shopping there anymore.
