Despite this place consistently being filthy, smelling strange, and disorganized stock. Certain employees target customers based on their own discretion for policies that are not consistently implemented. One day I’ll peruse as normal, minding my business. The next I’ll be accosted about having a backpack, meanwhile others shop with handbags and shopping bags unbothered. Not only is this discriminatory based on how old they believe I look at the time, there’s not even a consistent security system that would have me handing my things to someone safely. They create tense situations and I watched them assault a man who they wrongfully accused of theft. It doesn’t surprise me that they’re robbed at gunpoint so often, they create that energy.

The short manager there is super rude and follows people around the store, talking bad about them to other employees without shame. Dude needs someone to put him in his place.

Edit (March 15, 2024):Family dollars and Dollar Generals are closing 1000 stores, if I remember correctly. Keep on stealing from here this place will close. And do not blame the white racist man. It's your own kind black Philadelphians. You people, YES, YOU PEOPLE, who addresses themselves as a tribe are the issue. You are the issue. If you want your neighborhood stores to strive in the ghetto, you all have to hold each other accountable. For your sake. BLM is not going to save you. They are living that lavish life where they scammed you for your money to move out the hood to live in the mansions. God speed to whoever is in this area living here.(September 2023)The fact that this store is in that area for however long blows me away. This store is not going to survive for another year in this economy. People steal a lot in this store and the security guard did nothing when they stole on the line. Hire an armed guard to decrease the likelihood of the store getting robbed. Stay safe staff.

One of the most popular places to shop at on 52nd Street. One half a block from the Market Frankford line. Low prices, Great service. From excellent management to hard working staff. A college students dream place when looking for quality items to decorating dorm rooms. You can be guaranteed to find something that you'll just have to have. Trust me. Don't believe me, just check it out yourself and see.

The store was kind of a mess. Which was understandable because of stocking. There were shopping cart with boxes of product in the aisle. The check out line was long. And it looked like only two people were in the store. The cashier was friendly.

I've been here before, the prices are cheap and reasonable. the store is nice because is has a variety of different products but the only thing that hold this store from being above and beyond is the cleanliness and the long line, those need to be worked on.

Always messy. Shipment boxes are left in the aisles making it hard to move around the store. Employees have bad attitudes most of the time and rarely greet customers when entering the store or at the cash register. There are a couple of employees I've encountered who have been pleasant, so I can't say it's all of them. Just it seems the bad ones outnumber the good.

Good store the staff change like ever month though. Now when they get busy it's like nobody wants to open another register and the line be all the way in the last aisle which isn't a good thing. Sometimes it's boxes all over in the aisle and you can barley get through. It's close by for me so I go here and they have want I need at reasonable prices

Definitely has a nice friendly staff, that dont always have everything but what store does. One of my favorite Family Dollars in Philly. They also helps the community out during our annual back to school event.

My recent visit left me feeling unsatisfied with service. I attempted to pay with a Credit Card that didn't have a pin and their payment system kept asking for a pin. There was no attemp to run the card manually like some stores do. I know my credit card can be used without a pin because I made a purchase at another business prior to going here. Very unsatisfied to the point I considering whether to dhop there anymore. I can get all of the items I want thru Amazon

This store has poor management and very bad customer service! They always have one cashier open untill the last minutes, and when there is always a long line! Managers and performance managers poorly deal with customers in a highly disrespectful way! Employee reps have bad additudes everyday! I also recently was harrassed by a performance manager about buying my stuff from there just right after I paid for my stuff! And she had a very bad demeanor about it! I am discussed about this insident and I think the company has to take better care in who they hire as employees!

Plenty of times you go into family Dollars they do not have change . The shells of barely full . The manager be eating at the register while waiting on customers . That's the heavyset one . Or they be on the phone a lot . Three times this week I have been there and they didn't have change .

As many times as they have been (hit) Burglarized which is a sad ordeal, they keep reopening for us. I thank God for these business owners and employees. They've just been opened again for two weeks and setting up. They usually have almost anything that you need. I pray to God that they don't get burglarized ever again.

The cashier didn't know where anything was and she didn't take the alarm off one of my items that I paid for when it beeped she said it was ok long as I had my receipt you can tell she was new or in training it was clear she shouldn't have been left alone

It usually has everything I need..... But the lines are always long with one cashier and 3 or 4 employees walking around the store putting inventory away. Some not all of the employees are never smiling I no customers are hard to deal with.

--shelves are always empty--boxes are always all over the place so you can not get through the aisle by foot or with a shopping cart without having to move things out of the way--cash registers always have items piled on top before you can place your items to be purchased--cashier's love having personal conversations with friends and will not stop while working which can cause problems with miscalculated transactions.

Sorry, but this place is always a mess. So hard to find what you're looking for because everything is so unorganised and the Employees could careless about this problem. Until something is done my opinion about this family dollar in particular won't change.
