From the awesome owner and her store kitty Boo, to the adoptable rescue cats in the window, to the loyalty program with many brands that save you so much money, it's just the best. Dogs always get a complimentary treat at the register when they come in. The treats available are so diverse and it's great to try something new with my pets every couple weeks. The staff is very helpful and kind, and it is overall just a priceless staple of the neighborhood. I highly recommend stopping by, even if you don't have a pet! Because they have rescue cats in the window that you can pet and bond with (thanks to Greenstreet Rescue) and lots of great stock to get a gift for a pet owner in your life. Definitely check them out, I love this place.

Loved this little shop, was visiting from the UK and obviously had to pop in and get some presents for my kitties at home. They had a great selection of really fun toys, I picked up a few with catnip and my cats cannot get enough of them. Really friendly staff, including the doggos which were just a huge added bonus.Highly recommend! ❤️

My cat diesel wouldn’t play with scratching posts and preferred the rug, avoiding them at all costs but these guys hooked me up with this one and within 10 minutes of setting it up this was him. Great customer service and really great staff. 10/5 stars

I am a independent dog walk & pet sitter for the past 11 years. When my part time babies come to stay with me, they know that they get to eat all of the most delicious, smelliest, kinda grossest stuff they aren’t usually allowed to have at home. I’ve shopped online, bulk stores, and you will NOT find a better selection of all natural chews and treats at a more affordable price then at Fairmount Pet Shoppe! Dog food, supplements, toys, jackets, all cat items as mentioned above. Even small animal! They have a freezer if you are feeding raw. Call ahead and they will special order! FPS I a small locally run business that is exactly what everybody is looking for! Phenomenal customer service, Greeted when you enter the door, recommendations should you need any. The owner is the sweetest woman in the world and you’ll see after meeting the staff, any the money you save, why you’ll keep going back. Don’t see what you want? Ask if they can order it! You won’t be disappointed!

I came here for a clicker, a good laser pointer, wet food and a fun wand toy for our two cats, Bruce and Google. The shop is small but well stocked. There were three staff members inside, one human and two cats. The store had a great selection and I found everything I needed and some a bonus Hanukkah mouse that was 50% off.The two shop cats are lovely and adorable. They were sleeping together in a box at the checkout counter. Highly recommend going to this shoppe.

I got my sweet baby here, and I love her to the moon & back. The adoption process was relatively easy, they do check references and ask all the right questions to get you vetted prior to approving adoption so you can’t really walk in same-day to adopt, but it’s worth the wait. I love my sweet girl.

Super cute! They have a great selection of unique and novel cat and dog toys. Their prices are cheaper than many other independent shops I've seen. Their window has adoptable cats through Green St Rescue, which is a top tier partner organization.They're helpful and, despite the size of the shop, have a wide range of food selections, all through good and healthy brands. Also, the two feline managers are very cute.

Looks small but it’s actually packed with everything you need! Was searching for pine pellets for my cat and this location saved the day. Their prices are amazing. I plan to make this location my go to!

This pet store is our go-to for all our animals. They have everything we need for our cats, dogs, birds, rabbit, chinchillas, salamander, and turtles. Oh and chickens too. If they don’t stock what you need they will order it for you! Courtney is the best and even helped us get our supplies when the whole family had Covid and we couldn’t go out. Now if Fare could move their giant patio out of the way we could pull up to load the car! In the meantime the kind people working there help me carry my purchases when needed.

I had to put down one of my cats, so I came here to get my other cat all the treats, all the wet foods, for a weekend of spoils. The employees were so kind helping me decide what to get. The one who cashed me out, put a sweet note in the bag, and threw in a little heart shaped toy. All the stars. Will be returning.

It's so wonderful to have such a well-stocked pet shop in the neighborhood. The employees, both human and feline, are always pleasant and helpful. As a dedicated cat owner the shop's cat supplies help keep my indoor kitty entertained and engaged during playtime. I 100% recommend the cat nip bananas they have in stock.

Wonderful experience, and great selection. I wandered into get a new scratcher for my cat, and they great advice on local vets and animal rescue, since I just moved to the area. The shop cats are also super sweet.

My first time here today. Found this place on Google. What u need to know is that they let in one person at a time, So u might have to wait 5 to 10 minutes outside! It's a cute little pet shop fully stocked with lots of fun toys and goodies for ur pet. Once I walked in I was greeted by a cute and very friendly black and white cat! I believe her name is Boo, She is absolutely adorable! I was looking to get a bed for my son's cat and I found one that I liked for a very reasonable price which Boo the cat loved it too! She love the bed so much that she jumped in the bed and didn't want to get out of it. Boo demonstrated how comfy the bed is and I knew if she liked it my son's cat is going to love it too. Thanks Boo for making my shopping experience so plesent, Also taking the guess work out of which bed to buy for Cheerios. I would definitely stop by again to say hi to Boo and let her decide on which toy I should get for Cheerios 🐱🐱🐱

Lots of little toys and treats for cats and dogs. I'm always happy when a store has plenty of Greenie's for my pets! There's a small section in the back with things for other species as well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. And the cat visitors that lounged around the store were adorable.

I highly recommend shopping here for just about everything! The atmosphere is so cozy and the staff are so kind and patient. They always answer the phone and take the time to assist you in finding the perfect things you need. I spoke to Julia specifically and she was fantastic! She listened to what I was looking for and spent many minutes on the phone with me to ensure I was satisfied and even offered to create me a list of suggestions. I can't be more grateful to her! I only ever came for reptile supplies and live crickets but they definitely had a nice selection of both when I was frequenting the shop. Definitely a cute little space along a convenient street where I can knock out all my errands at once! Friendly staff and the cutest cats roaming the shop.

This is a terrific pet shop. The assortment of food and treats is terrific. The cat carrier I bought was high quality, and remains in regular use today.On one visit, I opened a cage to meet a sickly black polydactyl kitten. 13 years later, he remains a most loving and faithful companion.

I love having a locally-owned pet store in the neighborhood. They carry high-quality pet food at very reasonable prices. The adoption service is a great asset as well...a friend adopted two sibling kittens and is very happy. The staff is fantastic, too!

Amazing selection of food, toys, and other pet supplies.Also MUCH better prices than the Unleashed down on Callowhill. Unleashed wants $1.69 for a small can of my cat’s food when this store (and their companion shop on Baltimore) only charges $1.25 for the same exact thing!

Adopted a cat three months ago and getting to know this place well. They ordered a case of wet food for my finicky cat that I was buying on Amazon and it was cheaper to get it from here! The people and pets that work and hang out here are friendly, fun, and helpful. If you're having a rough day, just walk in...even if you're not shopping for pet products. You will walk out with a smile on your face.

Friendly people, helpful and little variety of products. Love that it is a local pet store and would rather support them than big brand names. Always have cats for adoption in the window and if I could take them all I would!
