Definitely my dog's permanent groomer from now on. I've only taken her there three or four times in the past few months. Been really pleased with the customer service, the friendliness of the staff, and the treatment my girl receives every time. The first time I took her, her fur was terribly matted and her skin was covered in some sort of red, itchy rash (not because of me... I got her from someone else!) BISG still managed to give her a great cut and told me how to treat her skin to clear it up. I did what they suggested, and she looked great in a few weeks. Just took her a couple days ago, and once again, received A+ treatment. (If I did it right, you should see her pics from the first visit, following visit a couple months later, and the most recent visit.) She looks and smells great - and is prancing around the house like she knows it! LOL

Zero stars wasn’t a option. DO NOT bring your fur baby here, they are not professional.. they will lie to cover THEIR mistakes. A simple cut down/trim on a golden doodle resulted in him being COMPLETELY shaved down without the owner’s permission. Only for them to say “oh he was matted we had not choice..” then for their story to change and say “you wanted it like that, we never said he was matted” the carelessness, and lack of responsibility is appalling. We had to record the entire conversation just because they said 5 different stories to cover their mistakes.

Easy to schedule. Quick turn around. Called and got an appointment 3 days later unlike other grooming places that take weeks. Fair pricing and very professional. Our dog is small but very difficult to trim. So we appreciate you!!!Thank you again!

Im not the type of person that would that post bad reviews but this experience was really bad. I took my toy poodle to get a hair cut at Best in Show Grooming. When I picked him up everything seemed fine until I got into my Uber ride to go back home. During the ride, for some reason I smelled dog poop, so I checked my dog's butt to see if he pooped. He's butt was completely clean. Then when I went to check his paws he had dog poop on the back on his paws.Also, on top of that I realized I had dog poop all over my sweater and pants. I was so angry and embarrassed. I took pictures immediately while in my Uber ride. When I came home I called the store and told them what happened. They were very unprofessional on how they handle things and they gave me a difficult time trying to get my refund back. It took them a week and a half to get back to me and they only gave me back 50% of my refund.The fact of the matter is that I took my dog there to be cleaned and he came out dirtier than when he went it. I will not recommend going to this place because the customer service is horrible. If you love your dog as much as I do please don't take them there. It is not worth it.

Puppy came home w a 1.5” gash on her face. Mistakes happen but a heads up would’ve been appropriate. Cut went unnoticed for 3 days and Is now infected. She is stuck in a cone for at least 10 more days.

I made a 10am appointment for my dog to receive a haircut. This was his first time here so I explained that he gets nervous around strangers. I was told it would take 2 hours and they would call me once he was done. By 2pm, I called them for an update with no answer so I texted them about his status. They respond that he was not finished yet and they would call me. The gentleman working their front desk calls me at 245pm stating that my dog would be finished in another 30 minutes. He then immediately calls me back at 3pm stating that my dog would not allow the groomer to give him a haircut. His statement told me that they had my dog in a small crate for almost FIVE HOURS and thought he would not be upset by the time they got around to giving him is cut?! When I got there to pick him up, he tried to blame their ineptness on my dog....UNBELIEVABLE! And then actually thought I would bring him back when their female groomer was available. I would NEVER go back there nor recommend them to anyone. I would give zero stars if that was an option.**RESPONSE TO OWNER**As stated by several reviewers both here and on Yelp, you lack integrity, accountability and professionalism. Great leaderships sets the example and you sir, most certainly represent the lack of quality that your employees display. You have not addressed any of the issues; instead, you deflect and offend. What successful business owner has time to respond to EVERY negative review? And yes, I did read reviews on both sites after posting my own. Your storefront was filthy with empty shelves and boxes on the floor. Are you the dirty man I met yesterday? I should never have left my dog with you. Where was all of this energy when I picked up my dog? You are immature and a keyboard bully Tim. All you have proven to potential customers is to NOT become one. Good luck.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HEREI brought my dog here on 9/4 for a simple hair cut and bath and upon picking her up she was terrified and not cut how I had originally discussed with Tim, the owner. She has multiple cuts on her face and when I called back to discuss with the owner he said it was due to “irritation”. When I took her to a vet to receive their expertise she was very alarmed by the cuts on her face, confirmed she was cut by the groomer and gave me ointment that treated the cuts tremendously. Aside, from them cutting my dog they are extremely unresponsive and unprofessional. Before the day of my appointment, I called three times and left three voicemails without hearing back from anyone. The day of my appointment I had to call twice before calling a third time and someone finally answering the phone.Moral of the story: DO NOT bring your here.

We came to Best in Show after using another groomer in the area a few times. Mindy was our groomer for this trip, and she knocked it out of the park! She took the time to discuss his cut and made sure any of my questions and concerns were addressed. They finished his groom in a fraction of the time it took our other groomer, and he looked 10x better! They were very very thorough and the cut was amazing!! We will definitely be coming back!

Awful groomers. Dont, take your pet there. I should have known something was up because my dog was afraid. When I got her, she was still wet and had barely been brushed, if at all. This spot is just not a clean place, and there are much better groomers available in the city. My dog was let to run out of the grooming room after her collar, harness, and leash were randomly drooped on the counter. Not a good vibe at all. I'll happily go back to paying more for better service and care for my dog.

Started off taking. 4 dogs there and it started off great communication and all. Then everytime it was they had fleas and 20 extra was added to change prices. Even if we went to vet first got flea treatment then went they still say automatically had to give them flea treatment and always shave my dogs that’s the cut they give them no longer styling them. So my daughters didn’t want they dogs there any more so no we now we down to 2 dogs going to them. Now yes it has been a few months when I take 4 dogs the price is about 230 so how I’m paying 190 for 2 dogs and I specifically said call mebefore you start my dogs so now my dogs are done with a 190 charge never going back again. It started out good but I will go to petco where I can see the prices clear as day

Zero stars from me. As groomers you should know how to handle puppies who are nervous and afraid. I was asked not to bring my dog back because he was "too nervous" like, ok?! It's part of your job to know how to handle different dogs and personalities. Thankfully, I found another groomers in the Fairmount area who are nice, patient, and professional whom I've been taking my dog to for the last year or so. Anyways, how can groomers refuse service because a dog is afraid it is beyond me. Very lazy & unprofessional.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a grooming service. They are unorganized and unprofessional. They are NOT responsive. Cash only was only stated when we were dropping off our puppy and not beforehand. They gave my puppy the wrong cut and they cut her FACE which they denied doing of course but she was seen by a vet who confirmed her cuts were caused by a groomer. I know about 3 other people who have also stopped taking their dog here due to their bad experience in recent weeks. Please heed my advice and do not bring your beloved pet here. I wish I was able to get on here and write a great review, truly. It saddens me that I was unable to trust them with my puppy and the owner Tim can respond all he wants. HOWEVER he is so rude. If you have to respond to everyones review claiming a consumer is lying then clearly he is the problem. I never went to the shop but I made the appointment and when I directed them to my girlfriend they still called me so yes unorganized is the correct word. What business owner puts their customer’s card numbers on a public platform?

Best in Show is quick to respond, so it's easy to make appointments. When my dog got ticks in the park, they got her in ASAP to do a special bath, and Tim the owner was so helpful. I love Sara, who was my first spaniel's groomer for 7 years. She grooms my current spaniel and does such a great job. She's part time, so I book a couple of weeks in advance now. The business seems to have grown over the years, and they now offer products such as food, treats, leashes, and bags.

I absolutely love there grooming service.. Tim comes and pick up my 2 babies Bella and Pumpkin. My babies love him. This is the only grooming company I trust with them. I have taken my dog here for a couple years now and I think they are wonderful! They are very patient and friendly. My little dog is very mean but she is always very eager when we pull up. She comes out smelling like a new born baby instead dog shampoo. The prices are very affordable. I just love them!!! Keep up the good work best in show!

I heard good things about this groomer and decided to take my cat there for a bath, nail clipping and to be shaved down. It was expensive but comparable to other groomers. I realize that cats are more difficult to groom so I was willing to pay. I was given the "first appointment" at 11:00 A.M. Sunday. When my husband arrived there were at least three other pets in line at the door, each with an 11:00 appointment also. After not receiving a call to pick up the cat, we called a couple of times being told that it would be another hour. Don't give me first appointment if it's not really the first, also I'm sure the dogs were being groomed first since cats are difficult. Five hours later the cat was finished. That's ridiculous!! The customer service could be better, maybe training for the personnel that answers the phone. Also, he has several spots that his skin looks raw, two that are really down to the skin. I understand that the cat had areas that were matted but I've had him shaved down before without the raw skin. He's so uncomfortable. I will not patronize this groomer again!!

We had an appointment at 11 am for a dog grooming. After two hours, we have tried calling multiple times, but no one would pick up the phone. So we decided to walk-in and ask if they were finished. They said that they will need more time, and after asking the person multiple times, it turned out that they haven't even washed him yet. Our dog was just waiting in a cage for two hours.... What's the point of making appointments if you won't get to that dog in the next two hours. We ended up taking our dog back and will now look for a different place.

I use to take my dogs here. We haven't been in about 5 yrs. I discovered that they leave the dogs is crates for hrs while waiting to get cut. Besides the long wait and crating I have nothing else to say.

Really got my cat clean and she looks nice and well-groomed they did an excellent job. The place also smells nice inside. Clean a lot of dogs as well. You're also open up on Sundays at 11 which is very nice for people work during the week.

Our 4 year old dog Winston a Cavalier King Charles mixed with a Cocker Spaniel had the best experience and cut at Best in Show! We just moved to the area and couldn't be happier. They had an extra opening and fit us right in. Winston now looks as handsome as ever. Thank you for a great experience! We will return!

Very nice customer service and they do a good job of cutting my dogs hair HOWEVER, when i make an appointment at 11:30 and i drop my dog off at 11:15 it should not take 6 hours for a regular cut. The time on the receipts always say that the services are about an hour but i always have to wait 4-5 hours to pick up my dog.

They are the best, I love their pick up & drop off service, Tim the owner is very professional and aims to accommodate. They groomed my female toy poodle Precious 🐩 until she pasted and now I trust them with my Shih Tzu 🐶 boy Prince.

Thought I'd give this place a second chance and it was a worse experience than before. I will never return! There's a lack of accountability, customer service, and communication here. Typical groom should take 2 hours, they took nearly 7 hours with no updates (unless I called). End result was a just a puppy with a typical cut (patchy in some areas) and irritated butt.No doubt the people there are nice and care about the dogs, but the excuses are unbearable. If you scheduled too many dogs, you should inform customers and offer rescheduling options instead crating dogs all day with no updates to owners.My scheduled appointment was for a Sunday at 11am. I arrived on time and the business was not open. Four other customer and myself waited 10-15 minutes for someone to arrive to open the salon then it was a mad dash to check in all the dogs.I received a call at 12:15pm to get repeat clarification on what groom service I wanted and was told they were backed up. Has my dog just been waiting in a crate for the past hour?I called at 2:45pm to check on my dog and they said my dog was getting bathed. 4 hours after being there, you're just bathing my dog now?!I called again at 4:45pm and they said my dog was being worked on and it would be another 20 minutes. I didn't know "backed up" meant 6+ hours! I received the excuse that their scheduler did a bad job.I had enough and went to the salon at 5:25pm and they said another 15 minutes. Seriously?!I finally got the call to pickup my dog at 5:50pm (nearly 7 hours later after drop off!!!). Arrived at 6pm and they forgot to brush her teeth so that was another few minutes.My puppy was dying to go to the bathroom after and chugged water when we got home. She's not used to being without those things for 7 hours! If I wanted my dog to be crated day, I'd do it myself. I'd sooner pay more ($55 for my dog) and go somewhere farther than deal with this again.
