Helpful staff and well cared for animals. They don't seem to take on more than they can handle, so all animals get the proper care they need. Very knowledgeable, caring, and friendly staff.

We got our furbaby, Sebastian, this past June and I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the facility. They were very honest, sweet and kind during the whole adoption process. He fit in immediately and we fell in love with him just as quickly!

I have never been there but called when someone who didn't have a place for a kitten needed help. The woman who took the call contacted animal control. They showed up so quickly I was shocked!! Kitten rather than the owner releasing it into the cold and snow, was taken in and cared for until a home could be found. Very impressive.

For the second time in a row this SPCA is holding our animal hostage. No one should take a found animal here ever! Call your local vet or police station and make a report for the found animal. They will hold your animal for hours even if you have all the information on the animal. Just to make sure the animals yours. Even if you know all of the information. It is absolutely ridiculous. And the manager Tracy Graham is absolutely unprofessional. The last time our dogs got out she was horrible to me. My boyfriend then had to come pick up the dogs even tho I was already there to get them. And she was the completely the opposite to him. I adopted my first dog from this place when I was a young girl. How they are now is a huge disappointment and they should be ashamed of how they treat people who give animals a good safe home.

It's been a week since I adopted my newest member of my family, Denim! From the moment she entered my house she has been an immediate addition to not only our household but also the entire family. Denim is nothing less than perfect and she's everything I've wanted in a new kitty! The day I adopted Denim was a very good day. When I arrived, the lady at the counter informed me that they were going on their well deserved lunch break at noon, (we arrived at 11:45). I quickly found my kitty and returned to the lady and she proceeded to start to paperwork required for the adoption. The lady never hesitated, nor did she mention (during the process) that she was due for her break. She completed my adoption of the lovely Denim without her break being delayed affecting how she acted both with myself and with the kitty. The lady at the desk was VERY professional and a pleasure to interact with. This was probably the easiest process I've ever dealt with thanks to the wonderful staff at this establishment. And of course i need to thank them for my kitty! She's absolutely perfect!!

Very rude and staff mean and the manger just likes. Putting people's dogs to sleep without giving them a chance to live his name is Mr Davis and dawn at the front desk is also very rude . She has a bad attitude

They seem to be loving with the animals. But when you go to adopt one, they make you feel like you're being judged like you're some terrible person. I've spent my life spoiling my furry babies like crazy... I'm a member of PETA. But they gave me an impossible time trying to bring home a kitten... It was like they were enjoying their position of power too much and forgot the end goal of trying to find loving homes for these animals who truly needed homes. I ended up leaving mid-judgment to go and adopt another kitten when I was approved elsewhere. Sad.

DO NOT try to adopt an animal from this SPCA site. It will only bring you heartbreak - as it did to me yesterday - when they deny your adoption of an animal you've fallen heart and soul for, as my wife and I had, hoping we might find the best Christmas present for which could hope. The seemingly invisible woman who acts as the sole judge and jury "trying" potential adoptive individuals at this facility apparently finds folks "guilty" without even speaking to them or getting to know them. If she had, she would find that my wife last year saved the life of the dog we adopted there 7 years ago after he had a stroke by giving him food and water by hand for days and days to bring him back so we've had him for over a year than we might. She would know that we adopted an 11-year-old cat whose only human had died out of the kindness of our hearts so we could give her happiness for as many years as she has left. She would learn that I spent over 2 hours in the freezing cold of our driveway coaxing a 5-week-old kitten that had been born under our shed and then abandoned to come to me before he froze to death all alone, and brought him in our house and made him part of our family after saving. These are the types of people this judge, jury and executioner turns away and denies happiness to and ruins their hopes for a happy Christmas. And that is why I will never again frequent this facility and will try to get as many people as I can to follow suit. It is a shame, because the staff at this are clearly professional, kind and caring, and I feel sorry that they have to work for such a superior who is clearly the opposite the way they are.

Four Years of doggie bliss with our Shelter dog. What a character, we only wish we had adopted one of the other dogs from his litter as a companion for him. Thank you MO CO SPCA!

I drive 40+ minutes to this shelter and have never left disappointed. The staff is knowledgeable, the director is involved and knows her animals. When I ask for a match for my home they know their animals and match us with the perfect fur addition!

My family and went to the spca today to pick out a couple of cats for our family. We have 3 young sons. When we arrived on a decision of a brother and sister cat (Theo and Lily) we asked if they took a card to purchase them and they said no. So we asked if we could hold the cats until we came back from using the atm moments up the street. When we arrived back with cash moments later. They were selling the boy cat Theo to an older woman. Needless to say my children were devastated and so were my husband and I. We came here to rescue a couple of cats. We started out our day with such hope and joy in our hearts to help our children to experience the joy of rescuing an animal and what they ended up learning was the lack of compassion of what this could really do to a young family and the lack of humanity. We had to leave my sons were so upset and crying that we could not rescue Lily. We did not want to let the boys watch Theo be sold and carried away right under our noses. I suggest when a family comes in to find there family pets and puts a lot of love and thought into there decision just please let them hold the animal for just a moment while they get the payment up the street and not sell the animal right under there noses would be a good human way to treat people. My husband, 3 young boys and I are just so unbelievably disappointed. Worst experience ever.

We’re rude and not helpful at all. They was more concerned about their own made up opinions more then the benefits of my animals really unprofessional. Till this day I think about my loving cats that that woman denied me of playing god to peoples stories she literally made up in her head. Shame on her.

We made the difficult decision and took my elderly dog to be euthanized. When we arrived, the young lady at the front desk said they only accept cash or check for payment. I was not told this before making the 30 minute trip to the SPCA. I had to go find an ATM with my stressed out dog in a hot car which upset me more than having to say goodbye to my dog. Please tell people ahead of time or post on your website so we know.

My family and I recently were forced to make a difficult decision and rehome one of our dogs. She was an absolute love to us, but did not get along with smaller animals. We tried several different rescues, but we were met with nasty attitudes and told that we should hire a trainer. We went to the Perkiomenville SPCA and we were met with kindness and understanding. We were able to call everyday and check on our dog. The staff gave her love and reassured us that she was doing well. I called again today(7/28/22) and I was told that she would be going home with her new family tomorrow and that she will be loved and given the life she deserves. I am so grateful that they were able to help with something that was so hard to deal with. I will always support the SPCA over rescues now. They are doing the work that the rescues claim to be doing. Thank you Staff of Perkiomenville!

I found a starving cat at Riverfront park in Pottstown he was in rough shape. Immediately I called and they got him right in. These wonderful people neutered him got him nice and healthy and then he was adopted. Everyone was so nice when I called everyday to check on his progress. I urge everyone to donate to SPCA .. these are very awesome people. Towels and blankets are welcomed too. Thanks for helping little Timber ❤️

Masks required just because but anyway, most of the workers / volunteers are friendly and helpful but as for the decision makers, well, let's just say interesting policies on dog adoptions. They tell you to come up on a specific day to see a specific dog and when you do exactly what they tell you to do, more than likely, the dog won't be there and is already adopted out. Save yourself the trouble and just find the breed you like and go buy it. No ridiculous hoops to jump through that are just not worth it to me. A lot different from the last time I adopted there 12 years or so ago. Never again......

I went in search of a coat or sweater for the new furry addition to our family. They gave bins of them but unfortunately the were all for dogs smaller than mine but I did get a couple of harness collars a recipe book & a beautiful sun catcher no prices asked its all by donation. The staff is very helpful & pleasant to deal with. Always clean when I've gone there.

We adopted our cat wally here. People were really awesome and knowledgeable here, they really made it nice and pretty easy for us. I would highly recommend checking them out if your thinking of adopting!! All the animals seemed well taken care of and happy, they give you the records of shots theyve administered and when there due again.

There is an older woman that works there that I’m sure needs to find a different path in life. She was one of the rudest people I’ve ever met. I wasn’t even having a conversation with her and she starts to interject and then decided to start getting loud and aggressive when I tried to understand what was going on and why I was being verbally attacked by an old woman. If she’s that terrible with humans how is she treating the animals? Wouldn’t surprise me if she’s abusive towards them when they don’t act the way she wants. She shouldn’t be allowed to work there without constant supervision and maybe a lesson on manners. When you aren’t a part of the conversation, don’t interject with nastiness and then start getting loud.

Took my kitten for the low cost spay clinic.. I know they say you get what you pay for.. and you do. Since the botched surgery she’s had never ending issues and infections. And I followed post op instruction and made sure it was kept clean. What was supposed to save money has ended up costing exponentially more in vet bills. Save yourself the hassle.

I have a very nice connection with them. They are very nice and lovely. I met this young lady that was walking a dog name Angel. The most beautiful dog you can want. I can't because I have cats. My cat I bought her there 2 years ago. They are pleasant and nice. I can come from over an 1hr ride to donate things. The place is always clean and spell like bleach. I love it. Great job guys.
